Reading the 'Hostile Environment' rules, although they seem really cool (and the scope for imagination there in setting is immense!) what is the actual logic between having a high burst weapon and being more vulnerable to whatever reason the environment is hostile? Or visa-versa?
Imagine for a moment that you are fighting in a vacuum, or on an alien world that is teeming with millions of tiny poisonous spiders (the most uncomfortable thing I could think of! ) how would firing your weapon more make you any more susceptible to that? Or are we talking about something that is purely a gameplay mechanic and balancing tool?
Well... i'm not sure how to implement in any other way without adding more dice rolls. And I don't want consecutive dice rolls like in warhammer, so I'm happy the way it's implemented.
HOW DARE UXIA NOT WEAR A MASK! This is unacceptable!
Boycott! Boycott! Boycott!
(Happy, Alph? )
I'm surprisingly impressed by The Steel Phalanx starter box. Irked however that it is released before the Corregidor starter box.
I really like Eudoros and the new infantry in the box.
I like Uxia, for the most part. The skin doesn't bug me this time...it's the ponytail!
Don't really care about the Crusader Bretheren, but it's a nice model.
Imetron and Ikadron are nice. My brother is gonna love those.
We've already seen the Wu Ming, they're okay.
The Gao-Rael is tempting me. A sniper model who is actually sniping?
Ouch...I really like all the models for this release...That's a problem haha
Well...hopefully I don't play PanO yet (but I'm still tempted to get this awesome model)
I quite love what I see, the brethren and rider, em I mean Myrmidon hacker are amazing, Uxia is quite good, love to see her in combat pose, the Ikadron is great the Imetron is a fancy antenna and looks good in that regard, we have already seen Wu Ming.
That Aleph starter box is the bee's knees, I think the nicest models in that range. The sergeant looks like a bad-ass, and I love the Myrmidon Hacker and her pose!
And that crusader brethren has finally made me decide that I must do a Knightly order army!
And although I have no desire to do a Chinese Yu Jing force, those Wu Ming demand to be painted in some kind of army camo
Talarn Blackshard wrote: Alright, i really need to find a local playing group ... I really like these models. my Wallet can take more hits.
Infinity is growing a lot these days, so you might be able to find someone local to you who plays it. There is a thread on Dakka for this purpose:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/442911.page Also, a more comprehensive list on the Infinity Forums.
Or the other thing to do is buy a starter pack with a mate, learn the rules, and then try and run an intro games yourself! I did it with a friend, we bought & made our own terrain and organised it with a local gaming store who was only to happy to have people coming into the store to play. (I made a thread about it http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/477642.page )
Liking the look of the ALEPH troops, not so hot on the helmets (on any of them, i dont like that the 'eyes' are too high up, even if they are some sort of scanners, whats the point in having them up there is all its going to do is confuse you when you look at the display? As in the height change would be weird to account for).
The Knight looks pretty kickass, is he an AD trooper by any chance?
Uxis, ahh Uxia, thank you CB, thats what she should have looked like before...Kan/Alph, i really dont mind the ponytail at all, whats with the hate? I dont like her smile though i have to say...
It does disturb me that she appears to be reacting to something that was behind her, not great for a covert agent if someone can get behind you no?
Ikadron looks really good, as does the beacon, oddly not as big as i thought it was going to be from the artwork, but gorgeous looking...
Wu Ming, as good as they were before.
Gao Rael....now thi is a different story, while the model is beautiful to look at (and of course, painted to a ludicrously high standard), the pose leaves something lacking. The left hand/arm, why o why is it that far up the weapon?! Otherwise, its a sniper sniping, a rare and much appreciated occurence from CB!
Overall? What an excellent release! Cant wait to see next months (you know what its going to be )
The Crusader Brethren model is the coolest AD:CJ that CB have done since the Yuan Yuan- very nice!
The Thorakitai have an interesting take on Aleph armor- the rounded and very slender greaves in particular. Not sure yet, but I think I like it. The Agema still looks like a fatty though.
Nice eyecandy- thanks for posting all that here BobbaFett! I still come to Dakka for the compiled and simplified CB rumors, and just go to their board for discussion etc. Dakka does rumors right.
The Steel Phalanx looks pretty darn cool. Very high-tech bad ass. I know some think the Agema looks a little weird with belly bump thing going on but still it's pretty good. I'm really curious about the rules for the Thorakitai.
I'm going to get that Uxia just for the fun of it. It's a great fig! Talk about cinematic! She looks like she's sliding on the ground and shooting at the same time. Awesome!
Again the Crusader is amazing and if I were to do a PanO it would have him!
I'm already working on lists to have the Wu Ming. I'm not hot on the rules for the LRL but it looks fantastic. I may try to convert it to have an HMG.
I don't know what to make of the Ikadron and Imetron. I will say they look ALIEN. It looks like he has two flame throwers but I want to know how fast he is and what other rules he might have. From the sound of it he can be used both in regular CA as well as sectorals. Which is good because I need them with my Shas. I just wish I could use the Imetrons with my Shas too. Of course the few times I tried using them they deviated off the board!
The Gao-Rael is cool but doesn't strike me as much as others.
I must be the only one who thinks that not all is perfect in CB land.
- Myrmidon hacker's hair (wtf).
- Eudoros's head/face seems a little odd, but overall the miniature is quite nice.
- Thorakatai w LRL's leg pose does't look quite like how someone would stand.
- Uxia's pose and hair/face disappoint me after the cool art made me expect something more like the Ariadna Spec Op. Maybe the masked Spec Op head fits on there and fixes the situation.
- Crusader Brethren's right leg... wtf was that sculptor thinking?.
- Agema's pose is stupid, I have no other words for it.
- The Gao Rael sniper is very nice (too bad I don't like the rest of the Tohaa sculpts so far)
- The Wu Ming are very cool.
- The other Thorakitai are cool as well.
- The Ikadron are nice enough, although the running pose one of them has isn't that great either.
Maybe I'm too harsh, but these little things just bother me :/
CB needs to get rid of the awkward-pose syndrom already, because it is ruining a lot of their miniatures. Such a shame. Some of their sculptors seem to have issues with leg posing especially.
Sephyr wrote: I actually like the ALEPH visors, and the new models are boss. I
The visors look cool on the Thorakitai, but the Agêma's visor makes it look like it's wearing the helmet upside-down. I really dislike that model. Not big on Uxia or the Myrmidon hacker either. Other than that, it's a really solid wave.
I think Shae-Konnit (and can you believe I just 'got it' concerning his name?!?) is going to get a lot of requests that he won't be able to fill!
Agreed on both counts!
(Really?! Epic... You've seen his Username on the Infinity Forums right? After seeing the both of them, i keep trying to come up with more in the 'series' )

Shame that the Ikadron and Imetron are bundled.
I absolutely love the Myrmidon Hacker, think she is the stand-out model in that box! I even like the 'fat dude', just because it is something a bit different (and I guess it might be some kind of enviro-suit anyway?)
Guess it just shows that it is impossible to be liked by all people, all the time!

You're right, of course, as I love everything about the Myrmidon Hacker!
6 new items, 3 of them boxes? Wow, that was unexpected.
Eudoros is a character, how curious seeing one in a starter pack.
This months miniatures are all great. The one I was more excited about was Uxía. It's not exactly whay I expected, I don't know why I was thinking in something more static and stealthy and not that dynamic, shooty, "I'm right in the middle of the action". But it's still really good, and of course... I'l buy it.
I'm pretty happy wit Uxia. Flat soles, a pose that does not immediately evoke stripper connotations, easy to put a proper vest on her and the arms are separate so again, easy to give her an actual gun in a sensible position. Overall, me likes.
Alpeph box is all kinds of wacky and weird, not in a good way, and again with the horrendously stupid pose on the female model. Like, WTF?
CA thingy is okay, could do with a bit cleaner pain job to make it look less blobby.
Tohaa sniper is cool. Would have been better if they didn't insist on making him do stretch ups while aiming but even having him in elbow locked position is good enough. Approved.
Yu Jing are okay.
The PanOceana guy again takes to the field with a sprung ankle, trying to do stretch ups. Or perhaps taking a dump. Serioulsy, stop with the stupid poses, they ruin every other PanOceana mini...
Just for the record:
When they say October release, does that mean November, December or January? And why do they call it October release when October is obviously almost over?

most impressive I've seen in a bit.
whats that Ikadron profile?
Stats should come out soon. Usually within a couple weeks I think when a new troops comes out.
It's been awhile for me.. so when new profiles are added do we see them updated on devil team builder?
Any idea what the Ikadron role is?
I'm digging the new Aleph stuff.
I'm quite tempted by Uxia, she might make a very decent spec-ops model for my Qapu Khalqi force. Her armour doesn't look all that dissimilar from Haqq fare. Really cool pose, though her smile does make her look somewhat sadistic.
Don't like the Aleph box at all - a hacker who is hacking with her hair, and they brought the hunchback of Notredame along as well.
Love the Combined Army... thing. It looks horrible, just like the best models in that range!
most impressive I've seen in a bit.

It has two flame throwers AFAIK. The Baggage rule, which is pretty cool. Especially against Morats and Shasvastii which is already hard to get rid of. I think the price is pretty low at about 9pts. The AVA I heard is low. AVA 2 for the Regular CA and AVA1 for sectorals. NOT sure about that yet.

Oh, my SEF can take this thing?? AFAIK we can't take iMetrons, so I just assumed that the flamey baggage guy was out too. I dig the model quite a bit, but more importantly: double flame throwers With Tohaa's arrival, fire has become especially precious, yet IIRC SEF have a single source for it ... Just one of the many reasons I finally bought my SPHINX

Yeah right, that's the main reason you got the Sphinx - the TO Camo had nothing to do with it!

Cutter envy I tell ya, Cutter envy!
I'll admit it, the Sphinx is just one big sexy beast all 'round Local PanO dude has a lovely painted Cutter, which I'm sure I'm destined to go up against as soon as I start tossing TAGs around
As for the Batroid AVA: Screen Cap!
Looks like AVA 2 for CA / MAF / SEF? And 9 points - for an order, two flamers, and ability to drag things? Yes'm!
I can see myself using two of those in my SEF...
And I've been waiting for my Sphinx forever now... stupid Maelstrom. I hope I get my money back soon so I can order a new one from somewhere else.

Seriously, you need to call your credit card company (hopefully that's how you purchased them) or PayPal ASAP.
Maelstorm's 'taken the biscuit' as those crazy British kids like to say...
I hate the Sphinx model but love the rules so I'm using an Anathematic for it.
I can't see much on that pic but having two of those will be fantastic! Can anyone make out the MOV on it? It looks like 16/5 cm. which would be 6/2 Inches.

Good luck!
And yeah, the Sphinx rocks!
I bought about £70 worth of models, including the Sphinx, through Paypal. I've filed a claim there.
Then I also bought the Paradiso book through Paypal more than 45 days ago. I guess I should call my Cash Card company and see what can be done there (As I used the card to pay through Paypal).
Can't wait to see the little email that mine is shipping out. Here's hoping for Monday. Should allow it to arrive in time for our bi-monthly gaming night that way.
Had a read of the book this weekend (they were at the Campaign Paradiso event at Wayland Games) and for want of a better expression it is bloody brilliant! I can say that as someone who has become remarkably jaded and has a lot of experience of the different products thrown out by this industry - it takes a lot to impress me, in this modern age of everything being hyped as the best thing since sliced bread, but this book seems to have fulfilled everything I could have hoped from it.
The artwork, the background, the way it is all set out and presented - all of it is absolutely spot on. I was lucky enough to have a good chat with Carlos (the chap who is in all of the BoW videos), and he said a lot of work went into it. They've been building up to this system for a long time (over several years), putting things in, taking them out and gradually refining it until they settled on a system that was most balanced. It originally started out as a card based system apparently, but then that amongst other ideas was finally rejected - what's perhaps most impressive is that they wanted to release it ages ago (as most people in the know have said), but they kept delaying it as they wanted to get it just right, and especially in terms of balance. There are so many neat little ideas you can tell that was the case.
We played a couple of the first missions, and I have to say they were a lot of fun. They are tied in nicely with the progression of background story that has happened since Human Sphere, and the conflict on Paradiso in particular. You can take part in the missions as standard, which have a narrative progression (you spend the xp you gain on either your 'spec ops'; a line trooper unit, chooseable from several in your army list, with things like stat improvements or weapon upgrades) or on actual improvements for your whole force. These can vary simply from extra points in your next game, additional availability of units, free mercenaries to more 'intelligence' style options such as being able to choose table edges, or read your opponents army list (even have an alternative army list!) You can also play the 'narrative' battles, as they happened in the storyline of the book, which give you free extra units to use. I will say I hope that Yu Jing players haven't become overly attached to Ko Dali (although I'm sure most will have read now about what happens to her..)
As I said another really cool thing about it is the artwork; this book blows the previous 2 out of the water in terms of the imagery it contains, with several different styles of art and a lot of new material. Interestingly I was talking to a chap named Juan (who was over here for the event as well) and he said that most of the art is outsourced - he mentioned artists in the US and Poland who have done work on the book. I know it's a subjective thing to an extent, but I thought it was stunning and one of the most appealing aspects of the book. Corvus Belli could make some serious money in the future selling this stuff as an art book, or even on a range of merchandise - I think it's that good.

IKADRON BATROIDS
Is a good soldier made or born?
For the Ur Civilization, the good soldier isn’t made or born, it is grown.
Product of the most advanced techno-organic engineering, the Ikadron Batroids are carbon-silicon hybrids cultivated in accelerated growth farms over a pseudo-intelligent monitored substrate. The techno-neuronal hardware structure and behavior models of the Ikadron have been designed in the image and likeness of the Ruaria, companion animals of the Ur since times immemorial and favorite pet of any warrior, hunter or adventurer. The Ruaria are ferocious, brave and loyal until death, making them the ideal model and reference for creating an excellent autonomous slave/operative. So, the Ikadron was the perfect tool for any Ur to feel comfortable and safe working with it, either configured for autonomous remote mode or under direct control via quantronic-neuronal link.
Designed in the ages before the creation of the EI itself, the Ikadron were a mass production tool to perform dangerous activities in hostile environments; a wide definition including any kind of tasks, from exploration to construction, prospecting or even combat. With minimum modifications in the cultivation phase, an Ikadron could change from a qualified worker to a professional soldier, expert in front line operations or in logistics. In this way, the Ikadron Batroids were the main force of the expansionist waves of the EI in its first campaigns of conquest, when the Ur presence in combat was more frequent.
A civilization of such an advanced level as the Ur is characterized by the efficiency of its tools, and the Ikadron were renowned for their effectiveness and reliability, implementing the EI’s strategies with precision and implacable energy, without hesitation, without backing off, as inexorable as the EI which they represented [...]
Fragment extracted from the Forgotten Annals of the T’zechi Digesters.
The Ikadron Batroids are part of the backbone of the Combined Army forces. Even if the Morat race is primarily responsible for the execution of the military activities of the alien forces, it is also usual to see the presence of an Ikadron contingent in those larger deployments grouping more than one species. The task of the Ikadron is, supposedly, to act as a mobile reserve, but it is evident that they also act as a control element for those species forming part of the deployment. They also act as a deterrent factor for any possible conflict among those races, something that can be very frequent given the rude and xenophobic mentality of Morats.

ÍMETRON
This special device has been created to improve the range and capacity of the Tactical Data Net of the EI over the battlefield. Ímetron beacons are deployed from aerial reconnaissance drones through high or low altitude launches, depending on battle conditions. The devices amplify and analyze data and tactical information obtained from the Combined Army, providing a constant actualization of any combat’s development parameters.
I NEED these. You guys posted them as an October release, Warstore has them listed for November. Would you expect these to be on FLGS shelves in early-mid November? We have our Infinity league starting back up and the Imetrons are necessary for me . We also have a store nearby that stocks every Infinity model, so if they're shipping out, they'll get it...
Otherwise, maybe I'll preorder them from the Warstore.

I didn't know you were fielding the evil Gribblies know as the CA - Nice!
Anyway, somewhere along the line there was a delay at CB getting a month's miniatures out.
And that has pushed everything into the system we have now, where the current month's miniatures aren't previewed until near the end of that actual month, meaning they won't actually be available for purchase until the following month.
So for example, October's releases were just previewed last week, and won't be available for purchase until November! (Well, at least here in the States!)
This will be especially hard to cope with next month, as the Raicho will be previewed (please please please!) and then won't be for sale until December!
Automatically Appended Next Post: Looks as if the latest round of miniatures are...
That Ikadron is really growing on me. I love the gnarly look of its face.
Thanks for the review on the book. Does it come with standard missions outside of a campaign? I'm not sure if I want to play a campaign constantly, whereas my group is desperate for missions to play in general.
And RT playing CA?! What theme you running, or just a mix of the best stuff? (Theme-less CA is stupidly good, by the way, I just can't do it myself ...)
Imetron wasn't in Human Sphere, was it? Not seeing it on the same Paradisio vid I grabbed the batroid cap from, might be the page over AFAIK the imetron is AVA 2 for CA only. I actually scratched up two of them but since I didn't think I could use them in SEF I haven't played them much recently. Given that the batroid is two for all I could see metron being the same?
Hold on. I'm not saying we are getting one, but I do think it's highly likely that the as yet unnamed next book will have the EI and Concordat as Sectorials.
Kanluwen wrote: Hold on. I'm not saying we are getting one, but I do think it's highly likely that the as yet unnamed next book will have the EI and Concordat as Sectorials.
True, we don't know for sure, but CB did once long ago (when only the first 2 books were out) that all units that a currently in a book will one day get a Sectorial. My saying that I don't remember seeing the icon with the sectorial badge sneek pick form gencon.
I know all too well how maddening a wait can be! Kan, how about we put you in suspended animation until the parcel arrives? Here, put this plastic bag over your head and we'll do the rest.
Sorry to say, that for the US, Hurricane Sandy is about to or is hitting New York is going to make for a delay of some sort. Actually the eastern side of the US is effected by it.

This plan cannot go wrong.
Trust me, works like charm, maybe we can make you forget about cat-girl while we're at it yes?
Maybe this is old news, but the new markers are now available in the download section of their website. One file for the markers and a second file for the MagLev train.
Now the question remains - who will be crazy enough to make a maglev train?
I asked Carlos about this last weekend and he said of course CB won't do it, but there is an open invitation for anyone else who wants to try.
I forgot to mention before there was a bunch of really cool Micro Arts stuff that I saw, which has been designed and built by the Micro Arts guys, but using the design sketches from CB provided to them and made with the new missions in mind.
As an example there were escape pods (I believe shown on the forum before? both occupied and unoccupied) which serve for some of the new missions, as well as resin 'lifts' - in the missions that take place indoors these serve as access points to AD drop-troopers (presumably they have landed on the roof!) Also some 'alien markers', and I thought perhaps best of all were some of the human (and alien) style control points/panels. The finished article will have little slots on the top where you can insert a small acrylic token (presumably also made by MAS) - so in missions using the control panels you can change their status and easily keep track of it. Thought this in particular was a great idea!
I love it that CB is trying to forge links with companies like Micro Arts, rather than trying to shut them out - we will get loads of cool stuff which, although easily scratch-built for some people, are nonetheless an option for people who want to buy.
* Actually I believe IJW took some photos of some of the new MAS stuff? Have to ask if he would mind posting them here.

I love this idea too - though at times I wish they'd be a bit more... discerning... in their choices!
On Saturday I got the e-mail about my Paradiso book with the usual "to notify you that the electronic shipment information below has been transmitted to UPS" boiler plate. According to the most recent tracking result, it didn't get to UPS until Tuesday. Where ever Farmingville NY is...
But Farmingville, NY is where my previous orders from the Warstore have gone through, so a certain amount of order must be in place at the moment. :-)

Spoiler:
I'm also happy to pass on all the details and designs i came up with, via pm.
I talked with a friend who works at UPS up in Massachusetts and he said that they are working paid overtimes up and down the coast to get stuff sorted.
Got mine. Paradiso is here!!! Apparently the new mini's are a few days behind due to public holidays in Spain so I'll have to wait until next FRIDAY, I'm sure I'll cope
Sounds like the Warstore made it through the storm okay:
Update November 1st: I want to say thank you all for your patience and support. Hurricane Sandy has been very devastating. I wanted to give you a fresh update and let you all know that the staff and their families are all healthy and safe. TheWarStore.com Warehouse took zero damage and everything is as it was prior to the storm. The good news is we have Power and Water. The bad news is we still have no internet. So currently we are unable to process emails or orders. Please stay tuned for further updates.
But it will still be a bit until I get my new stuff.

We need a Tohaa badge on the Forum!!!! I've almost finished my starter box and I've added a few "painted proxies" to round them out so I can use them and get the hang of how they work.........just means i have a week to finish detailing before I can add the sniper

Good point - we probably do need a TOHAA symbol, as well as maybe some of the new sectorials?
Whoever did it last time - help us out and hook us up!
Also - my book and miniature arrived from The Warstore - yeah!
CB should release books more often.
I mean... how much do we have to wait until we can read the next wave of fluff? Love the fluff... need more fluff...
I'm torn as to what army to do as a secondary!
"The Steel Phalanx" is a lot less offensive to my senses now after I've read about why it was created.
The Tohaa having a G: Synchronized T.A.G. is definitely interesting!
Ariadna now is out amongst the stars, at the behest of the O-12 Bureau itself to act as a "neutral" party and provide security, etc to O-12.
Corregidor is still fantastic to me, and the Gecko is a really interesting bit. A T.A.G. used by Corregidor not just because of ease of repair...but because it can be used in boarding actions.
The Gecko is a speedy little bugger. What's more, it has "Zero-G".
The Gorgos is going to be rather similar to the Gecko I think. It's interesting that it essentially is Symbionic Armor which gives it the T.A.G. styled stats.
Oh! And the Tohaa Spec Ops can only use the "Kamael" infantry as the basis to work from.
In the same way that the Corax is limited to starting as a Seed Soldier...(not that there is another Shas option necessarily, but ive heard the seed soldier is tn the best 'grunt' option...?)
I've PMed Yakface icons for the Tohaa Trigon and the Steel Phalanx. I also included icons derived from the new reflective logos for all factions. (The Tohaa icon above was one of these. It's not a big difference once you shrink them down to 15x15 but I think they do look slightly better than the current flat ones so it would be nice to have the option.)

Thank you!
And you're right - the new 'reflective' logos do look better!
I got my book on Friday! So I had some of the weekend to go through. Going to hold back on overall critics though. Need to really get into it. I'll start a few threads to discuss some things though.
Just called my FLGS, and my book+Gogo have just left Spain - they were waiting on the rest of the new releases to send the order. So I still have a few weeks to wait.
Can I ask you folks a question here as I can't seem to find the answer elsewhere? Did the copy of the book with Gogo cost more or the same price? I picked up the book+Gogo without a preorder at my FLGS and was charged the price of the book+$10 for the mini which I didn't really want to begin with. I was just wondering if this was normal or if I should have a talk with the store owner. Thanks

Didn't want as forced to buy?
Anyways if you got the book from CB the mini was free, but alot of warehouse charge the store that order from them. So the stores have to pass along the cost.
I wasn't exactly forced to buy her but I damn sure didn't want to pay extra for her. The store I got my book from got their case of books directly from Corvus Belli so they could get the minis is what I was told. I guess I'll hold on to her for now and see if I like the mini more after some time. Perhaps my daughter will want to paint her up one day. Thanks for the info folks.
From what I knew, there were different options for the stores to get the books and the minis. The minis were free only if the stores asked very few (like... 2?). If the stores wanted more, they had to pay them. Then, it was up to them to choose wether charge the final clients or not. Luckily I wasn't charged, but some stores have done it. Still, in Spain the price has been lower than a regular mini, $10 seems a bit pricey to me.
Yeah, I should have posted more but I thought that was the best one.
And I felt they should get some exclusive stuff to drive people to them! I try to post just "one" shot over here as a rehost, in case people are workblocked.
Love the model, I would say its a bit odd to need binoculars on top of the visor system, but Ariadna, sometimes you have to do with what you have.
Good catch!
I'm guessing that the sculptor went with what he thought looked cool vs. what 'made sense'!
No, there just wearing tinted goggles, the binoculars are the visor, low tech and all. Best part is they have to pass it around the group, becouse there is only one.
Yeah, if I pick up that model the binoculars gotta go. I love the way the goggles look, and the sculpt is just great with all the little bags and pouches. The Rocket Launcher looks more like a Panzerfaust to me, being two shot and all.
That Moblot sculpt has really grown on me. Used to think it looked far too thin, but realising it's a female sculpt (and actually quite subtly done) has made me appreciate it a lot more.
Anyone know if they were planning on re-sculpting some of the Ariadna heavy infantry though?
And the conversation quickly shifts away from Transgendered French Johnny Depp.
I think the Lasiq sculpt is pretty hot and badass in equal parts without being cheesecake. Even if she does have heels. I like it that some of the most dangerous models in my army are females. The Muyib with Spitfire, the Lasiq sniper, my Maghariba Guard, the Odalisques.
Cheesecake sculpts be damned, in Infinity you can kick ass regardless of gender and that's awesome.
On the note of old sculpts though... OMG Minuteman. Priority 1.
The PanOceanian "Shock Army of Acontcimento" starter box is showing broken image links, but the item itself is still tagged in the PanOceanian gallery. It shows the same image on the gallery as well...
Why is this interesting?
The same thing happened with the Haqqislam starter box when they revamped it.
I guess it makes sense that they would like to revamp the jungle themed starter box. But I really wish they revamp the vanilla PanO box. It has some ugly contents that box.
Honestly, Acont. is still so new that it is probably just a gremlin. Corr still needs its set and PanO, Combined and Nomads still need a resculpt of their basic box (especially PanO). It would be weird to issue a new box for Acont. before then.

See, I thought that too...
But then someone else pointed out that even the Acontcimento Regulars blisters are having the same issue.
Theory on the official forums at the moment is that it might be ABC throwing weight around due to the "likeness" of the models to those of the "Lost" characters.
The weird thing is, of course, that the one photo of the 3 pack is still present on the Sniper(Sapper) for the Regulars and that image is clearly not broken.
Kanluwen wrote: Theory on the official forums at the moment is that it might be ABC throwing weight around due to the "likeness" of the models to those of the "Lost" characters.
I never noticed that before. Now I can't unsee it.

This seems like Tin Foil Hat Conspiracy Action of the Highest (Lowest?) Order!
ABC, rattling legal sabres over CB's Infinity miniatures for a PanOceania Sub-Faction that kinda sorta look like characters for a show that's no longer on the air and ended with a whimper and not a bang?

Sure...
Oh definitely, it's a TFHC...but it definitely is a bit more believable than the SAA starter box being redone.
Unless we're going to see the Regulars being bundled into a box of their own and the SAA starter box repackaged to not include the Knight of Montesa.

Haha right! Well, I guess it's a credit to the sculptors?!
Although.. really... I mean, come on ! Jesus H. Christ some people need to get a life if that's true
I wouldn't put much into something that might just be a glitch.
They are probably getting new images ready and someone might have over written the old images by mistake, or some code was broken, etc.
Also, It shows up fine on the on-line store.
I'm glad they are doing re-sculpts more often. It's good for them as a business too. They can only expand the game so much but they can keep making minis by fazing out old ones to sell new ones.
So far I'm pretty happy with the new book even though I haven't had much chance to read it.
I'm hoping that's not ALL of the models for 'November'.
I could've sworn that we were 'promised' the Raicho for this month...
And if not...
Kanluwen wrote: Carlos at GenCon said that November is Raicho month, and that players who have lusted for one must submit photos to Corvus Belli of their faces when they buy/receive it.

Someone's going to be in BIG trouble!
It only looks like 3-4 releases, 5 is the normal target number, so I wouldn't worry just yet.
There's no way that is all the models for November, because it's missing the one known model we have--the Briscard.
Second from the right could definitely be the Briscard before it was finished. Legs apart, long weapon casually hanging on the shoulder. It would be this shot was prepared before the finished shot of the Briscard was done.
Angel had a thing on his FB page where after he got 200 likes, he'd post something done by the chap who does 3D sculpting for CB...which means T.A.G. or Remote.
The Raicho model seems to be posed like in the illustration. I'm okay with that! I'm almost certain now that I'll order one when they become available.
So an entire army of sepsitored Haqqislamites find an ancient Morat storage facility where all the Raichos were being hidden from Alpharius (sepsitored long ago). The sepsitored Haqqislamites sepsitor the Raicho, and themselves again.
TAGs are nice because they're big, but ultimately they're just large machine sculpts with added details.
The organic look of a human-ish sculpt is arguably much more impressive.
Plus, I'd argue that the Anathematic is more impressive than the Jotum.
Either way, trying to choose the best Infinity miniature is like trying to choose your favorite child. They're all awesome. And you have hundreds of them.

Funny you should mention the Anathematic, as that's the miniature that 'forced' me to start a Combined Army!
INFINITY is good for that a lot, actually, and I bet I'm not alone there.

All in all I am not a fan of the greek themed units for Aleph.
So... there really wasn't any chance you were going to like it then, was there?
Good thing there's more than enough for everyone's taste in the Infinity range!
I saw that artwork, and Ajax is this big fat angry bastard who's got this hammer held like a sledge and is yelling his lungs out through a bushy beard.
Pacific wrote: So.. anyone going to try and sculpt a beard onto him?
*raises pseudopod meekly?*
I did expect a beard, but I don't need one badly enough. Here's hoping at least one of the Homeridae gets a beard though! *crosses tentacles for Penthesilea *
But seriously, awesome sculpt, happy to see him hitting so soon. I've had little desire to field ALEPH until the Iliad portion detonated into ridiculousness with Paradiso, and suddenly find myself wanting All the Myrmidons to accompany the heroes ...

There's still stuff from previous books not released. Like, you know, 95% of the doctor models.
The teaser definitely has "skipping across the battlefield with a medical purse" potential.
True that, but if we count all the variants we do not have sculpts for then indeed that'd be a big load.
Doesn't mean they shouldn't be done. The fact that there's loadouts not sculpted definitely means there's scope to add them, considering Paradiso added so little to everything except Aleph and Tohaa. Hopefully they use the breathing room to bulk out the current ranges with loadouts that don't have models. There's plenty of time until the next book to do it. Otherwise we're just going to end up with 6 months of nothing but Aleph.
I'm not overly keen on the scuplt or the concept. But seen as I instantly thought Warmachine when I first saw the concept, I'm very pleased indeed that they bought the sculpt right back to our beloved Infinity style! Phew!

I'm not agree about that. I can find many reasons, let me try to explain my point.
First of all, CB is a samll company with a constantly growing catalogue. Do you have any idea on how problematic that is? it is like a restaurant with 400 options in the menu.
Making miniatures like the Hospitalier Knight doctor, Djanbazan Doctor, Asawira Doctor... that would more of a problem than anything else.
Second. Making a miniature means that they must have something big representing the option. A Sniper Rifle, A HMG... Doctor option can be easily represented by the basic version of the troop because it has the same weapon.
Third. I think the customers of this beautiful range from a small company have a limit of miniatures they are willing to buy. I mean there is no need of 5 models from the same troop profile, I think people just won't buy another blister of an already seen miniature unless is incredibly awesome, specially while there are new troops with no miniature yet.
Fourth. I will prefer CB to re-sculpt some of the worst miniatures of the range (Iskaller, please) than focusing their art-skills in providing more unncessary weapon options. And IMHO the only miniature we need from every troop profile is the basic one and the one with HMG/Sniper/Spitfire/RocketLauncher/HackerDevice
Those are my two cents.
If my message sounds weird/attacking/offensive, please, don't take it like that. i don't want to sound rude. I really hate discussing in forums.

And that's the situation they put themselves in. They may not like it, but they keep doing it to themselves every time they decide to add yet another unit without doing something about their backlog. Convert isn't really an option when they make models of this type either - with them being true 25mm scale, it makes converting an absolute nightmare for people good at converting metal models.
There's ways to reduce it. Boxing models is something they've been doing lately which reduces the amount of blisters and SKUs.
BobbaFett wrote: Second. Making a miniature means that they must have something big representing the option. A Sniper Rifle, A HMG... Doctor option can be easily represented by the basic version of the troop because it has the same weapon.
Go look at the doctor models. Tell me thay're just the basic version of the infantry model in a different pose.
Doctor models do have something to represent them. Their syringe gun and medi pack. That's just as much an equipment difference as a sniper rifle. No, being told to just paint a white wrist band is not good enough.
This is where conversion sets come in handy. If they just released a pack that had some syringe guns and medi packs in it, I could go buy say, an Asawira with combi rifle, stick them on the model, and I now have an actual Asawira doctor.
As it is now, I have to go buy a Ghulam doctor, cut the syringe gun off, remodel it so it's actually got a grip and a non mangled back end, and throw the rest of the model in the bits box. That's unacceptable.

That doesn't mean the options shouldn't be there. I'm not talking about putting out different models for 3 different models with different mines. Doctors have a visually different loadout, which is shown on the actually released doctor models.
Not to mention, what you're saying still applies. If someone wants a doctor model, they are going to end up buying a duplicate of a model they probably have to paint a visual indicator on. So people are still buying more models. The same models

Not at all. I also only used doctors as an example. There's other options floating around that hvae no models, and nor variants of 'rifle + x'. Telling people to go convert these models wouldn't be such a problem if Corvus Belli provided packs of items to do the conversions. Or at least for MAS to make them, I'm sure MAS wouldn't mind making some resin weapon and item packs.
But I completely disagree with your comments about doctor models. They have their own equipment, and they deserve their own models as much as any other weapon varient.
You've answered your own point there though Loki. It's all about putting things into boxes wherever possible rather than blister packs - something that apparently the traders want (to make merchandising easier), and also something they're doing so that they can get new customers to stock their product range without scaring them off because of the massive range of different goods.
I agree it would be nice to have the option, but there are plenty of other unit entries which have a more pressing need for miniatures - I mean, would you rather the sculptors worked on a djanbazan doctor model, or a new boxset of Kaplan Tactical mercenaries? Or they made a knight-doctor rather than a Raicho (that one's for Alpharius )?
Oh, I'm not saying new stuff doesn't been to be made. What I'm saying is that there's very little new stuff outside of Aleph and Tohaa, so there's a lot of room to add some of these options that have fallen back before the fourth book. Because as it looks, there's not much new to release for other factions, and if we just end up getting 6 months of Aleph and Tohaa once they release the 2-3 new units other factions got, my interest in the game will seriously drop.
And yes, I'd much rather some unpresented options get models before they remodel older stuff.
I'm with Chemical Cutthroat when it comes to Ajax. The new sculpt is great for the most part, but not what I wanted. Something simian would have stood out from the rest of the lithe Aleph minis really well.
The new guy also does suffer a bit from SpezzMuhreen-itis. Big hammer, big shoulderpads.
If I ever get the chance to work on this model, there will be a beard, conversion for added mass around the waistline (probably removing the man-purse to do that), and a different weapon-head.

You don't have to. The majority of Doctors would be easy to represent simply by adding the medikit as a pouch on their belt/webbing.
You want unacceptable?
There are several models, quite a few of which are Lieutenant and basic infantry options, only available in Starter Boxes.

I can totally see them making a ox (at least for Haqqislam) of just Doctor models. That, or blisters with medikits and other bits would be good enough.
I'd like it if they at least update the ugly Ghulam Doctor sculpt.

That's actually nowhere near the same thing and I think you know that you're reaching for this example.
The Paramedic/Doctor options for units such as the majority of PanOceania's units/Haqqislam's units, Dakini Tactbots, etc do not require them to be posed like a doctor.

Not talking about posing. I'm talking about equipment. Yes, sniper rifles in Infinity look different to ordinary rifles. Medkits look different to leather pouches. There's a handy picture in the Infinity rulebook that shows what a medkit and syringe gun looks like. So yes, I'm quite comfortable in saying that if it's okay to call a pouch a medit and syringe, it's quite okay to slap a scope on the Djanzaban with a rifle and say its trhe same as the Djanzaban with sniper rifle model.
And I'll say again - this would be perfectly fine if Corvus Belli simply did a bits pack with these kinds of equipment. As it is, if you don't want a non-confusing army, you need to butcher a doctor model for its syringe gun and medkit.

And the Najjarun, the worst human miniature from this range.
I won't include pictures because I love you, guys.
Bobba I <3 you.
I can't stand that model and I'm a huge Haqq fan. I run the Al-Hawwa hacker model as the Najjarun, because that sculpt is awesome and I need an Engineer.
When I played in a no Proxy tourney I just stared and said, "I will not put the Najjarun on the field, it is a disservice to this game."
That being said, the Minuteman sculpt is a very very close second. "WHOOPS I DROPPED MY PANZERFAUST!"
I LOVE the Ajax model! I think he is awesome, well sculpted and makes me want another faction, aside from my unpainted Yu Jing and Caledonian armies I already have
my second cent is, I agree with BobbaFett, I want to see better sculpts of older models. Especially the antipodes! I want better looking Antipodes! and a few other models...
EDIT: I forgot to add that Ajax is masterfully painted too!
I'm actually just painting up the Najjarun at the moment. I like him. He looks like a dude. His box is probably full of porn. He has his pistol out, and cool shades. What is there not to love?

I'll tell you what.
PM me a list of what you're thinking of, modelwise, and I'll cook you up a list using the Steel Phalanx list since it's not in the Devil Team Army Builder yet.
Ok, here is my idea....
I will use AJAX and the Myrmidon officer as Enomotarchos, I will make two fireteams both with a Myrmidon Hacker, Myrmidon with Spitfire & Myrmidon with Chain Rifle.
Machaon will be the Lt. and also doctor, he can be Enomotarchos and heal his companions.
Myrmidon Officer is great because she has Chain of Command is Machaon dies, also she provides V-0 grenades for advancing against visors.
AJAX is just cool.
Hacker will be crucial when dealing with campaign objectives.
Spitfires are the key miniatures, they will be Team Leaders most of the time.
The remote can be replaced by Ghost Servant remotes if you want.
It just popped into my mind; you could paint a big "Last Airbender" arrow on his head, and you'd have a super-buff cyber-Aang about to swat a pesky Firebender...
