That's not exactly a great argument against the game, that's like buying a 40k game an complaining that the setting is grim dark.
I've been playing the stick of truth for a bit but I just can't get into it. I've never been a huge south park fan and the gameplay is average at best so there really is nothing there for me too enjoy.
I've just started palying through Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD. The updated visuals are nice and the game is still as solid as ever. Never played X-2 so I'm super eager to plow through X and maybe even 100% it.

No...... 40k games I know will be grimdark and such, but this heresy should be burnt alongside the ones that spawned the horrid series
What am I playing right now? I am (still) playing Football Manager 2012 (i thought the last two version have been gak).
The year is now 2042, my manager avatar is 62 and is by far and away the greatest manager ever to have lived. Really only playing it now to get the 30 year achievement.
Currently downloading a "fresh" Warhammer Online install, since myu disk doesn't update it to the latest version. Good thing that there's a part of the community making a private server
I'd play it if I could play skaven normally. I know you can somewhat play skaven but I'd prefer them to work just like everything else. They could have done a 1vs1vs1 battle of greenskins, skaven and dwarfs but it didn't happen (then again considering it was destruction vs order that could make sense). I suppose what destroyed my interest is I didn't really like any of the represented factions for the most part. I'd probably change my mind if I was playing a dark elf character but I'm not sure.

I thought my football mogul season in 2036 was bad... (I only play the 2012 version because it was the free one)

I somewhat enjoyed the open worldiness of the GTA series, but I honestly love SR sooooo much more. It's just so over the top, and ridiculous, i almost cant put it down its that fun and funny.

Wait we should burn the creators of southpark?
Well, that escalated quickly.
Ironically, that sort of scenario would probably be something in South Park.

Yes preferably slowly and painfully
And it's south park you find repulsive , interesting,
Picked up Dragon Age because it was on sale. The game's not as bad as i thought it was and the visuals especially are actually pretty good, far better than what i remembered.
I also like that you play an origin story, adds an instant meaningful reason to replay the game.
The combat is fairly crummy and pretty unresponsive but i appreciate the fairly robust character tactics.
Finally the dog the warrior gets is pretty cute. This is Speaking as someone that finds little in gaming as satisfying as killing virtual mutts. (Despite a non-lethal Playthrough of Dishonoured i still took great care to kill all the Dogs).
^I didn't play it much, but it seemed decent. I didn't like having to switch the camera angle around to optimize it for exploring/fighting, i'm more used to the older BG style top-down style games... but it was tolerable. The mage was really flexible, though I'd say they gave you enough rope to hang yourself. I was doing alright, but it seemed like it would be pretty easy to pick uncomplimentary skills. Might try it again later.
Trying to get my idroid snakebyte controller thingie playing well with D3 so I can use my laptop/tablet thing and play it in the livingroom sometimes. It's rough going, they bound the mouse move to the right stick.. would have thought it should be the left, and the placement of the clicks is weird because of where they put the mouse move. May start a new character and learn both together, may scrap the idea, I don't like D3 enough to try TOO hard.
Will probably pick up some point and click games I've stopped playing. Was thinking FTL but there's an awful lot of right-clicking in that so I'll have to find a solution for right clicks.

He apparently has no taste. Probably finds Family Guy to be "more intelligent" and "better thought out" too. Matt and Trey also have one of the most successful musicals on broadway at the moment-do you really want their genius and talent torched? Taste=0. It's one of the longest running cartoons of all time, compared to Simpsons. If it was trash, it would have died out long ago. You're entitled to your opinion, but the facts prove it to be wrong.

I for one find the South Park game to be more than a little repetitive and kind of generic as an RPG. But with levels like "Perform an abortion inside a gay man's a**, I just can't stop.
I find it hilarious. Everything about South Park is satire, it's just also very filthy and crass at the same time. The game is worth a rent imo.

I find that South Park mixed some great witty humour with some very low brow toilet humour. I like the former a lot and the latter less so, though it can still be amusing in smaller doses.
That said its extremely popular and I not everyone has to have the same taste as me.
That said I think that people should be burned slowly and painfully especially due to creating a cartoon you don't like is abhorrent.

On the actual subject of the thread, I've restarted WoW. May the Powers That Be have mercy on my soul, for I no longer have a life.
"How do you kill one that has no life?"
Ha that just seems pretty relevant with the whole south park anger going on.
I'll admit south park can at times be kind of crap but it has moments both hilarious and many that seem to make sense. Quite a few people seem to think 'south park' hits the nail on the head with a bunch of issues including the answers to each.
As far as family guy goes I can't even believe that sh*t still exists. It was decent once but that was before it came back. Maybe it would've been better if it had never been resurrected at all. Robot chicken is infinitely better than 'family guy' currently is. A friend of mine said robot chicken got worse though which is honestly very sad. I'd still prefer to watch it over a lot of shows though esp. considering they seem to show a knowledge of video games and nerd culture for people of my age instead of back during the old Atari days. I mean h*ll I'd probably play a game in the robot chicken universe where you play as one of their own created characters or your very own going through their various parody universes.

Back on topic I think south park is great but it's episodes are hit or miss. Some things get ridiculous acclaim which seem to be less about merit and more because south park did it. Imagination-land was one of the last multiple part specials I enjoyed. The cthulu thing with BP drilling everywhere was funny the first episode and then dragged on with little to no humor afterwards.
What I found sad is that when 'futurama' came back they seemed to go from decent to progressively getting better and better till the show was better than it was at any point before it went off air. I'm kind of sad to see it go and the last episode was more touching than funny but it ended on a good note. I suppose some could say in a sense it fulfills being an end for the show while still possibly allowing for it to continue if they so felt it needed it.
What I like about the campaign is that you start off with all of your tech unlocked and more. In most other expansions it's the typical "slow build up" where the game gradually gives you tech as you progress. In SCFA they give you everything right off the bat (however, the enemy AI gets everything as well!)
DDO wanted me to install some third party crap on my system, and while I'm not paranoid enough to label it as malware, I don't appreciate having my resources hogged by that sort of thing so I've stopped playing.
I enjoyed the game though, so I've decided to check out LOTRO.
Hmmm. Overall I like it, though it is closer to WoW (which I don't enjoy) than DDO.
I like it mostly because I am a huge Tolkien fanboy, and the ability to wander around middle earth is just too much fun.
The environments have a lot of love put into them, and they do feel quite distinct.
Probably the only thing that really bugs me (apart from the tedious running back and forth to finish quests) is the bits where I am involved in the "main plot" of the books so to speak. I don't really like seeing those scenes done with some cheap voice acting and so on, and I dislike taking quests from Aragorn and so on- it feels wrong, to me.
Still, I'm sure that floats someone else's boat, so I'm willing to let it slide.
Anyone else play LOTRO?
^Seems like a neat enough world to explore, but they should have juked the time frame by a number of years so that you were exploring the world and not just participating in the mmo of the books/movies. If nothing else, they should at least put you on the sidelines or running different yet still important quests. A cameo by a notable figure seems fine, but for them to be quest givers or for you to go and do actual events from the books or movies.. meh. I'd prefer it another way.
Think I'm gonna kick around some more Icewind Dale 2. Got an Asus Transformer Book cause my main rig is getting old and I've wanted something portable for awhile (read that as: I never get to go to my office/computer/hobby room thanks to tiny toddler master, so I got a laptop/thing so I could do anything ever ). It can be a tablet, but they keyboard dock is almost too useful to live without. For actual gaming... well it can play games... but for a game that's playable while reclining on the couch and utilizes the interface options available to me... Something nice and simple like IWD/BG/NWN will do.
I've got it to run diablo3, I'll play that sometimes, but I've got to use my iDroid snakebyte controller and they mapped that thing really weird. It's amazing for, say, a psx emulator, and it having a mouse/keyboard function is swell... but they mapped the mouse move to the right stick. What? And the clicks are the top buttons (not triggers, or something even more sensible like the buttons on the right side...) oh well. I've gotten the interface to be playable, and on lower settings I don't see a lot of slowdown, so I may still play it. I may look up a wired controller sometime too, if I can find a good one that supports a mouse function like the idroid thingy.

But wanting to see them burned slowly and painfully seems a bit... 'extreme'. Some people like South Park and no one is forcing you to watch it. Still, you are forgiven, for you have Turisas as avatar.
I also tried playing the Stick of Truth, but my button mashing skills were not awesome enough to get past the anal probing part. And to be honest, I don't really dare to practice. Seeing the amount of curses I tend to throw around when things aren't going my way, there is a fair chance that my parents will come checking in on me, and how am I going to explain it to them? ''Oh hi dad.'' "What in Heaven's name I am doing? Well, nothing much really, I just need to succeed in anally violating this 9-year old in order to progress in the game, but it is really hard."? I don't think that is going to work My parents aren't really familiar with South Park
Another game I have recently picked up is Distant Worlds: Shadows. It is a really awesome 4X game, one of the best I've played.
Doing yet another playthrough of Fallout: New Vegas, this time with a 40K mod. Just can't stop coming back to that game. Steam tells me that I have spent 480 hours playing it.
Also some GTA V. I got a load of money from a random person when that whole money exploit hubbub was going on, so I'm free to be as reckless and chaotic as I want and not really suffer any consequences.
I still do now and then. Its not the game that it was though. The steadily increasing level cap and power creep over the years has made the earlier areas far easiler than they used to be and not as 'epic'. I still enjoy it but only as far as about half way through Moria then it starts getting very generic.
I'm hoping to play up to Moria, that's my plan anyway. As a kid I was always blown away by the idea of Moria and it's stayed with me all these years, so I really want a chance to wander it's halls.
That said, parts of the game are certainly tedious.
Currently wandering around the Barrow Downs, which I quite like as a zone. Lots of open space, lots going on, cool atmosphere, and I love the visuals.
Took a look into the Lone Lands, and I'm worried that might be tedious. I'll probably purchase a couple of quest packs on Steam to make sure I have a good experience. (I don't mind spending money but I'd rather not give my details to Turbine- just makes impulse buying stuff from the store too easy!)
Funny how an engaging world can make such a difference. Back in 2007-8 I tried WoW and although I enjoyed parts of it, I ended up quitting it after a few weeks because the MMORPG aspects got to me. It seems that in LOTR the setting stuff is managing to outweigh the MMORPG issues for me.

The Lone Lands aren't bad (and they have an epic quest chain, which has nothing to do with the books, so you will need to do the eastern end anyway). The western and eastern ends are quite interesting, its the bit in the middle thats the problem
There aren't any zones in the base game that I dislike, although Angmar isn't great.
i now have almost all of the daedric artefacts, just need to get the star of azura and the oghma ognimium. the latter could be hard as i still haven't even gone to the greybeards.
Modded Skyrim, i've been having real trouble getting anything over 100 megs off the Nexus so haven't been able to get much visual stuff, or any other big Flagpole mods such as interesting NPCs or Immersive armours.
HOWEVER i am still having a ton of Fun. For the record I am playing a shield + sword heavy warrior with my old rule of NO health/stamina potions (which helped with the 360 versions lumpy difficulty).
For gameplay enhancement i have: Better Combat AI (Steam (my only workshop mod))- Does what most of the Nexus mods with a similar name does but without the Goofy BS. Simply makes the AI alot more aggressive.
TK hit stop (nexus)- Adds a couple frames of slowdown/blur/shake when you land a strike/get hit. It also gives you a super detailed means of tweaking controller vibration. I highly recommend you tweak this after install as the default settings aren't quite there imo.
SkyTweak- Allows you access to a silly amount of sliders to alter combat difficulty. Also has a few optional extras which will increase challenge.
Audio Overhaul: A truly Magnificent Mod, this may sound stupid but in combination with Immersive first person it merits an entire other playthrough in itself.
Immersive First person- WARNING, this mod is unusable with the default settings, it must be tweaked in the menus to be usable. I recommend using it outside of combat only, with it automatically disabling when you draw your weapon (i use the camera as a replacement to 3rd person). Also bear in mind that when you stand still you will not auto-turn you must move the character to turn more (this can be adjusted but i quite like it). Also this mod works FAR better with a controller, it requires alot of precision with the movement and WASD can't provide it imo. Minor side effect of this mod is it actually makes Skyrim Mountain 'Climbing' look alot more believable. PS, it for the most part works well with Dynavision but it can go screwy for a second or two if you allow your char to idle.
I am about to install iNeed as i see that most of the BS can be turned off in MCM which just leaves the basic needs which is all i want.
Are you playing MnB single player or online? A buddy got me playing some CRPG (or something) mod for it, had stats and tracked experience/gold etc blah blah. Was interesting, though I think I had more fun slowly trying to take over the world in single player. I kept hitting a bottleneck where my party was as big as I could seem to get it, and I could hold a couple of territories, but if I tried to set off on my own everyone came at me and there was too much attrition to sustain my empire let alone advance. I have a mind to try it again sometime, maybe even research the 'proper' way to do things, was probably doing something wrong.
Definitely playing IWD:2 again, got a cranky/evil party this time. Hopefully my melee-centric group doesn't get into too much trouble, I'm used to having a lot of viable archers. I fully intend to run my mouth and pick the mean/violent answers as often as proves beneficial, I'm not foolish enough to assume the jerk/evil path will always be the best answer, just whatever gets me the best reward!

I played Crpg when it was new; and it was awesome. I've got about 600 hours into Warband. With the single player you just need to put an crazy amount of time in getting your right to rule up; that's the only way to keep everyone from ganging up on you. Or cheat, I guess.
How does "grind a bunch" not surprise me as the answer? Silly games. I think I'll go back to my strategy of leveling the main character fairly high before recruiting anyone by soloing a bunch of groups of bandits (just not horse bandits, ye gods!) if I take another try. Thanks for the input
I am back to MineCraft. New map, finally stayed alive long enough to get some good enchants and diamond pick and sword. Got my xp back up to level 19 and then died in lava. Not sure why my water bucket didn't save me.
So now as usual I am frustrated. I always have a really hard time returning to a map after a really bad death.
The one saving grace is I left a fortune 2 Diamond pick back in my house waiting for a good Diamond find. And a good stock of supplies to fall back on.
My rule of thumb- never adventure with anything higher than stone. That way, you never need to worry about accidentally overmining, you can't under any circumstance accidentally mine up diamonds or redstone (letting you go back to get your Fortune pick after securing the area), and if you die without being able to get your stuff back (lava, monster spawner, bad fall, etc) then you don't lose too much. You can always get back experience, but diamonds are one and done. Heck, even Iron is technically infinite because of Zombies.
And even just one level of exp on a stone pick can get you Efficiency I, which is about up to Iron in speed. It's about 22 to 27 levels all told to combine stone enchants up to Efficiency 3 or 4 just from single level enchantments- and you know what you're gonna get. Plus, if you're using the new Anvil rules, repairing a stone pick with some cobble is rather easier and cheaper than repairing a diamond pick, even if you end up having to repair it hundreds of times to the diamond's once.

Otherwise. I am really getting back into Garry's mod. I've been just fooling around with stuff and trying to get my friends into it. No luck thus far however
Somebody had to go and mention Mount and Blade so now I'm trying to take over the world again (well part of it) in the single player. Likely going to be grindy, whether or not it is a tedious grind is yet to be seen.
Rerolled yet another IWD2 party, but hopefully I stick with these guys. I left the frills off and went for a pretty classic/simple party with several tanks and healers. I did get a little unconventional with an enchanter who will be somewhat less nukey than another spec of wizard, but the druids in IWD have some aggressive nature/elemental spells so perhaps they'll do alright in tandem.
Still got Pokemon Yellow on the backburner, trying to decide if it's worth figuring out the emulated link cable nonsense to get an Alakazam or not... Still grindy, but I've mostly given up on maintaining anything but a stable of 6-8 critters and letting everything else gather dust.
I recently got Lego Batman, Hitman Absolution and Tomb Raider. I've been playing a bit of each, but Tomb Raider keeps crashing my PC I can't even get past the first level...

I'm level 22 I think? I reckon I just leveled up to that. I've been messing around in Bree-Land for a while.
I'd like to play with someone, but I have to warn you that I might be a bit flaky due to work and girlfriend commitments!
The misses got me the new thief can't help. It be dissapointied with it so far.
Garret has gone from an interesting sarcastic character who steals to pay his rent because it's the only thing he's good at to a gravel voiced ninja with all the personality of a a baked potato. Some of the dialog in this game espeically between Garret and Erin is eyerollingly bad. I enjoyed garnets quips in the older games but they just feel a little lifeless in this one.
Gameplay wise the stealth is solid for the most part but the choice to bind the pick up stuff button to the same button seems to get my caught a lot with garret glueing himself to cover when I want to pick stuff up and picking stuff up when I want him to get in cover.
The levels are also considerably smaller and less free despite the open world hub with lots of doors that are there for show you can't open. The gameplay seems to be split into sections I. Much the same way the new hitman game was, albeit to a lesser extent rending the enjoyment of being given a largel level and being told to break in and loot feth out of it less Iinteresting.
It's a shame because I have been waiting for this game for Close to a decade. Now maybe I should judge the game on its own merits but that's very difficult to do when the older games were some of my favourites.
I will retry it soon and see if I come away more favourable after the initial diss apointment wears off.

War in the North was good like that. It ran mostly along side the movies and you would bump into characters from the movies on occation but you are not taking part in the same battles or fighting the same people.
Speaking of Mount and Blade I would love a version set in Sengoku Japan. All the warring Daimyos and power struggles would make it a perfect setting.
Rome 2 Hnaibal at the gates, enjoying it but I do find certain aspects to be rather, well annoying. Such as random hordes of unwashed barbarians popping up all around and generaly making a mess of my plans when three full armies gang up on me. And decides to do so with an ambush.... But then again I always enjoyed killing Gauls and such in Rome 2.

To be honest, I'm not sure. I have seen a let's Play and got the name of the mod, but I never played it myself. Search ReformistTM on Youtube, he's doing a Let's Play on it right now.
I was just playing galactic civilizations 2's campaign. I heard beginners should start with the main game after I'd already started the campaign. I suppose difficulty breeds excellence though. I'm getting more of a handle on how things work.
Omg though there was this one mission where you 'seemingly defeat' the dread lords before being attacked yet again by the yor and the drengin. The yor and drengin so far have been total pushovers. The 'dread lords' are something else though. I found one of their weaknesses other than being denied their super high tech starter worlds. Thing is the dread lords have powerful ships but they don't leave many if any orbiting their planet to protect it. If you have fast ships and transports with good sensors (to see them coming) and life supports (if it's far away) then you can pretty much run circles around their fleets without needing to engage them. I didn't even fight many if any of their actual ships and win. I just engaged their single weak ships hovering over their planets. The funny thing is this strategy works and it works really well and I'm kind of proud to say I figured it out without help as a noob to 4X strategy games. I also found the custom ships are a lot better for things you may need at the moment and the normal ships are often lacking in some departments but are probably ok in a normal fight.
I'm actually kind of bummed that after beating the mission I am now denied my ridiculously fast ships. It is nice to get back to straight up fights though. I actually seem to handle those quite well. I'll see if the dread lords come back in some way later in the campaign. I hear that they did come back in some form of drengin.
----------
It's fun at times but the game is incredibly difficult mostly due to the dread lords. I'll see how the yor and drengin are now that I've taken care of the dread lords (or at least I possibly have). Galactic Civilizations is hard but addicting and takes way too long to play. Sometimes I don't even know why I want to play it. It can be painfully hard at times.
I will apparently be playing Planetside2 for the foreseeable future since my 6 month subscription decided to be recurring and well.. recurred yesterday or today. Whoops! Oh well, maybe I'll enjoy playing, the XP bonus from being subbed was always nice and there look to be plenty of new things after which to quest!
Less fortunately, most of those things will cost either much time, or some station cash (read that: endless grinding, or real money).
More fortunately, I seem to have accrued a not-insignificant stash of station cash from the monthly subscription bonus thingie, so if I can tighten my focus and pick one or two play styles... I should be able to get some new toys.
That, and there are freaking sidearm crossbows now. I don't get it, the thing is fairly powerful and much much better at range than a pistol, don't seem to be many drawbacks beyond expense and near-uselessness at CQC.
Hopefully turning your 4-wheeler invisible and running people over is still viable, since that was pretty much the most fun way to play any game ever imo.
I liked magic better in Oblivion, but my mage guy didn't have as much trouble as I would have thought given the way people talk about magic in Skyrim. I really liked the lightning spells due to lack of travel time and therefor ease of aiming.
@Anvildude I figured it was in there to fix some kind of problem, but now I wonder if my engineer wouldn't like shooting an infinite amount of little yellow darts just for fun.
iPad/iPhone - Clash of Clans (just started this week)
PC - Space Hulk and Warframes (loving Warframes so much... just started that today)
XBOX 360 - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
PS3 - Killzone HD PSP - Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection (I'm on 'Interlude' right now)
Interestingly, as the ES series progressed from Morrowind to Skyrim, I've found that the game rewards hybrid play more and more. Morrowind had enough skills that you could pick a path and stick with it, and things like enchanted weapons and active-use rings and amulets were common enough that even a pure melee tank could get through situations where mages would be better off- and Pure Mages had enough tricks up their sleeves to survive up close and personal situations with a little ingenuity.
But Oblivion made magic available to everyone at all times, with no penalty to one-handed casting or benefit to pure magic use, and Skyrim made it so that weapons and magic are almost interchangeable, with magic being used almost purely as an alternative means of dealing damage, instead of a multi-purpose toolbox like it was in Morrowind. Heck, there's no water-walking, no proper Charm, no levitation or Fire Resist or Cure Disease- just Fire Weapon, Shield and Armour spells, along with some Heals and "Heal/damage" Resto. Magic in Skyrim is unfortunately reduced to a secondary option for physical things you have access to- Clairvoyance for maps, Mage Light for torches, Damage for weapons, Shield, Armour, etc. etc.
Whoa whoa whoa...You mean an HD re-release of the first Killzone??
Well its called HD but it hardly seems HD to me... but it could be I just don't recall how it looked in SD... or maybe I'm too distracted by Shadow Marshal Luger's sexy sexy accented voice...
Hitman absolution. I was surprised it was the free game this month, and I'm happy. Though next week I'm buying The Legend of Zelda wind waker so it'll be that

Hmmm. I still have it on PS2, but I'll check out the "HD" version on Youtube or something
And I started playing Uncharted 3 this weekend. Definitely on par with the first two so far.
Started up a new game on The Witcher 2 Assassin of Kings, so far i have avoided death and gotten a bit out into the story. Although I must say, the bad guys in the game are dumber than advertised

I'm going to start Age of Wonders III before too long...
I actually prefer Dragon Age 2 to Origins. It was blatantly rushed and there are some significant problems with it but there are some very nice touches and the narrative moving through time rather space is something that I thought worked well. I have tired to play Origins 3 times now and each and every time I have gotten bored at around the same point, when I start the 3rd main quest before the Landsmeet.
I have started playing Planetside 2 again thanks to my sparkly new PC and I have been slowly playing through Age of Wonder III as well, its basically AoW 2 but prettier.
Playing some Hawken, the game's pretty good and looks great. It's a real shame there's no rumble though, it's a strange omission. Next Car Game has excellent rumble and it's in pre-Alpha.
Oddly Hawken gives my PC more of a workout than BF4. With BF4 i can be playing it for several hours and my PC will only be warm, Hawken gets it almost worryingly hot, I think my Graphics hit about 70-odd degrees.
How are you finding PS2? I'm stuck with 6 more moths of subscription due to a bookkeeping error on my part... I never have time but I've been trying to get myself to boot it up again.

Quite good actually. Its a little zergy and there are some annoyances but its so easy to hop between hotspots that you can generally find a good fire fight quickly.
I liked to find a firefight and stealth my flash and run down the line squashing everyone before turning around and lighting them up with the fury. Or dying spectacularly.
I'm getting trolled by the Zelada Port Authority. First they tell me to go to pad 5, then switch to pad 12 just as I'm going into final descent, and then they almost fine me for loitering!
Try turning on the Meteors. They're plenty of enemy.
I was trying a quick survival game- figured "Oh, I'll turn everything on- I've played Minecraft, I can survive!" . then a meteor blew up my refinery before I had even found nickel.
It's fun if a little brutal. Sadly giving an order to a single squad mate seems impossible. There is an opinion to do it but when you do everyone else tries to do the same thing.
Enjoying it though been wanting to play a decent tatical shooter for a while but arma is a little much.
I still want another tactical (so not Vegas) entry into the rainbow six franchise or ever better another SWAT game.

I like flashpoint very realistic and boring if you are a COD player, you need to play it with friends because the squad AI is atrociously stupid.

It's a refreshing change from your standard military shooter. Reminds me of the older ghost recon and rainbow six games.
If anyone has it on ps3 I will be happy to have a game. It was 2 quid from game.

Either way could somebody please tell me? I'm trying to find the game based on the picture by doing a reverse search but for some reason whatever I did turns up other images some of which are p*rn. Yeah and some of it is weird too. I mean I know lynata's german but d*mn.

Hyped as I am right now, I've just posted a thread with some more info and videos here!
I actually thought it might be a quote from the game's story somehow. That said i might have thought it had to do with the game's title. Can't remember if i figured that much or was just totally thrown off by it as embarrassing as that might be. Either way i suppose I make a good fool .
I just remembered FTL has a new (free) expansion. So far the cloning bay is giving me the giggles at the possibilities, and the fact that I got a ship upgrade from an event tells me there may be quite a lot of awesome packed in.

Slitherine finally had a sale so I bought Pandora:first contact.
Its an interesting Civesque game but the difficulty curve is off. At the start of the game there are hordes of aliens who start off peaceful but fairly quickly become hostile which puts you under constant pressure and as they do periodic mass wave attacks they can do a lot of damage. In my last game I was nearly overwhelmed twice and was pushed back to my core territory after nearly all my border cities were overran by swarms of beasties. Once you tech up enough though they become very manageable and once their hives have been destroyed you basically wipe them out.
This is by far the best part o the game, once the aliens have gone I may as well be playing Civ 5.
I'll be playing more galactic civilizations 2 when I get done with my final exam in class tomorrow. I'm telling you guys I can't wait for this class to be done and yet I don't feel ready for the final exam. Let's just hope for a passing grade.
Been playing on the DakkaDakka Minecraft server. Finally got a small farm up and running my house. And have gotten a good way into building the huge wall around my mountain home.

I played on the Dakka server a couple times, and it was really neat seeing other people's stuff...but man, I was definitely bored with vanilla Minecraft at that point
Still playing Uncharted 3. It has a cool story, but it's definitely not as good as the second so far. I can think of at least three action scenes that lasted several minutes longer than they should have.
Felt somewhat sadomachocistic today, so I started a new game of Xcom Enemy within, lord please dont ever place me in command of a organasation that has as a mission to save earth

Yes, missiels and grenades have so far saved my butt countless times, and at one time this morning killed five thin men that where camping and lobbing plasma at me.
I was playing that quite a lot recently, until its money grubbing ways became too much for me and I uninstalled it. £10 for an inventory bag? Really? The idiotic crafting system didn't inspire me either, its good in theory but its execution is terrible, for example it takes a staggering 90 hours to get a level 2 crafting minion (360 to get a level 3....).
Endless Legend has been released on Steam early access and while I normally avoid early access games I have bought this one mostly because it is a 4X game so it should have good replayability. I'm downloading it now so I will soon find out how good it is in its current state

I've watched minecraft videos since Tobuscus started playing it. But we only recently got a computer capable of running it. (yeah... long story) By now I'm sick to death of vanilla let's plays. But I loved Cptsparklez Modded survival. the Hexxit season has been my favorite thus far.
Just beat the Alien campaign on my favorite FPS of all time, Aliens versus Predator 2. Such a good game. Going to play through the Marine campaign now.

Ooh xcom enemy within talk. I haven't played in a while but last I remember being one of the more veteran players of this game on dakka with 800+ hours. I play on impossible difficulty all the time but still don't feel ballsy enough for impossible ironman runs. You really need a plan when going impossible ironman. Normally I use guys with gene mods rather than the robotic bionic men type route.
What difficulty are you both playing on? As long as it isn't impossible I should be able to breeze you through it without much trouble.
So I've got a predicament guys. Talking to family at Easter I was reminded that Mass Effect was a thing and that I still haven't played the third installation. Forget discussing the ending or if it's as good as the others or whatever, I don't care, It's more Mass Effect. That isn't even the point, the question I have is should I play through the first and second games on my little Asus Transformer tabtop (is that what we're calling hybrid thingies yet?) if it will run them (probably, but only just, maybe not 2? surely not 3 unless no requirements changed), or on my main gaming rig. I've got a spanking new to me gfx card for the main rig, so it's the obvious choice except for the fact that I get time to play games in that room maybe an hour a day, if that. Obviously I can get better immersion and quality there, but with the laptop I could play the games way more often. Quality over Quantity? Or do I play on the rig that actually lets me finish the games *this year*?

What's the predicament? You don't have a character to carry over into ME3 or something?
Sorry didn't explain that well, I wanna play through from the beginning with a class I haven't tried yet. Maybe infiltrator since I hear they get to be sneaky in 2, or sentinel with the grandfathered sniper rifle. I won't remember any of my choices from the last time I played as it was at least a year or two ago so I just wanna start over. I really liked both games and wanting to eventually play 3 is an excuse to replay them.
I think you guys are probably right, this thing may well crap out on the second game, and the overall experience will be pretty limited, though it means I'll be playing a lot more FTL than ME for the foreseeable future
It was pure coincidence - a fellow Elite pilot's youtube channel - that I stumbled over a fun little game called "Running With Rifles". It's a bloody and chaotic top-down action shooter in army men comic look. It has three factions, a sufficiently large number of weapons and vehicles, and it has co-op multiplayer. The battles feature hundreds of tiny little soldiers duking it out (usually, about 5-15 of them will be players, depending on the server and time of day) on large maps with dynamic frontlines that change as the troops capture and liberate sectors.
It also has a built-in rank system that lets you command AI squaddies, kick soldiers of lesser rank out of their vehicles so that you can take over their seat, or call in air and artillery support as you rise in rank (you gain or lose XP as you kill/get killed). You gain your first AI comrade at 1,000 xp as a Corporal, and the maximum squad size is 10 guys as a Captain. If you're in a vehicle, you can even split your squad to have the guys on the backseats dismount whilst driver and gunners remain seated, and then issue different orders to each fire-team.
It's a fun thing to pass the time with when you're a little bored. 10 bucks on Steam.
There's also a 40k mod for it, but ... eh, it's Space Marines vs differently coloured Space Marines again, and I'm not too impressed by the visual changes.
Kanluwen wrote:The predicament is does he play it on a tablet/whatchamacallit PC or a gaming rig.
To which I say "gaming rig"...
+1
A quality glass of wine once a week or cheap booze every day? Savour the experience, I say. Also, it's not like there are no other games to occupy your time with on a lesser system, such as .. yes, FTL. Plus, you get to keep your saves. If your hybrid thingie cannot run ME3 and maybe not even ME2, you'd have to start a new character once you switch machines, thereby losing your "personal touch" on the game.

I liked Endless Legend with the caveat that battle AI is stupid. You can't do direct control and it gives you the option to be offensive or defensive, which would be fine except that on either mode the strategy is apparently to rush forward blindly no matter what. I tried the battlehippies or whatever they are called where your default unit is ranged; so I had an army of 4 ranged and 2 melee; and my hero and my melee guys would just rush forward even when I told them to be defensive. And I feel like 'hold ground' would just be a disaster waiting to happen.

I play on normal/ hard, and have my hands full with roasting damneable aliens left and rigth these days. And rail guns on my mechs

Its shows promise but its got a long way to go I feel. The balance is quite poor at the moment (those necrophage drone things are ridiculous) and its obviously missing a lot of features.

First thing you'll notice on classic difficulty (hard) is that heavies are a must. That hasn't changed from the original game. This is for the rockets. Generally explosives were the best way to get rid of most types of enemy cover (except indestructible kinds) and then revealing them out in the open for completely unhindered shots most of the time. There are other options in enemy within like flashbang grenades which are super useful against all but mechanical enemies and high level psychics (sectoid commanders and ethereals). Depending on who you face smoke grenades can also be useful. Don't use them on anything with a grenade (mutons, muton elites, heavy floaters, sectoid commanders) or thin men (since they spit poison at you however when you get titan armor smoke grenades will work too since their poison won't hurt you anymore but at that point it may not be needed). That might sounds like a lot but if you're facing things like sectoids, floaters, sectopods or mechtoids it tends to help a ton.
In my opinion the weapons and armor upgrades as well as even some of the foundry upgrades (double item) and officer training school (keep your vets alive so you can have 6 soldiers early as it's super important) are much more useful than some of the gene mods or augments. They're still worth getting but prioritize weapons and armor research if possible. I can't really remember the names of the research options and what they usually do.
Capture plenty of aliens! I can't stress this enough. The bigger deal later on is more so you can use their weapons and have a cheap alternative to buying them. It's tricky yes but if you use things like flashbang grenades to slow them down and screw up their shots and other things as well as using a sniper's disabling shot to force them to reload their weapon instead of being able to fire. Try to use the noobiest characters to capture aliens and if possible maybe use supports with the extra movement ability and possibly even some skeleton armor if that helps even more. Interrogations also help make research go by quicker.
It's also worth noting classic difficulty is when you should start distancing yourself enough from aliens. The farther away you are and behind cover the harder the shot seems to be. You might also want to take advantage of full cover when you can. If there is no full cover then advance using hunker down when you can to double cover bonus and give immunity to critical hits (doesn't always work in impossible but the damage should be lower if you take any). In the harder difficulties staying out of line of sight or range can help esp. if you're facing way too many enemies at once. Generally at least on impossible difficulty 2-3 enemies is the most you want to fight at any given time in the early game. If you have to fight 6 it becomes infinitely harder and you may need grenades, rockets or just straight up falling back into good areas and possibly using overwatch.
-----------
Anyway this list isn't super extensive but it should help you.
@ flamingkillamajig : I am well aware of these things, havind completed the game several times. I dont start to loose men until I get someway into the game, but my biggest gripe is how absolute rubbish the shotguns are, until you get the alloy cannon or whats its name is I just stick my assults with either plasma or laser weaponry.
My mechs dose the heavy lifintg so to speak, with picking of the prioirty targets, while the rest follows up behind and lay down supporting fire. Although it seems the enemy is almost desperate to close the distance between me and them, and thus ending up in CCB for most of the time,
I've been sucked into Wayward Souls, and will probably repurchase it when it comes out for PC. It may even get me to buy a Vita - if it actually comes out - just for a better handheld experience.
Seriously, this game is of the kind of quality the mobile market needs. Challenging, fantastic controls, no in-app-purchases, a great story that's revealed in little chunks and hints. It keeps draining my iphone. If you've got an iPhone or iPad, get this game NOW. And if you're on Android, buy it the second the game comes out.
Games I have been playing...
SR4- Finally got it on discount and am running around with a stunt devil suit (cape on back), eagle head, and all american weapons. I call him Freedom Man!
Path of Exile- Friends dragged me to it. Having fun
Fallout NV- Playing through it as a former NCR soldier that's started up again.
Stalker seems pretty good but very reluctant to explain itself. Shame i cant play with the controller, i hate the Keyboard part of mouse and keyboard. It reminds me ALOT of Morrowind in alot of ways but maybe a little more polished and maybe a little less interesting story-wise.
Risk of Rain is very fun but you REALLY need to luck out with the power ups. Still played it for about 3 hours straight.
Got back into Xcom: Enemy Unknown after a while. All my specialists except two are dead or wounded and I now have to babysit three rookies to a crashed UFO site.
Burnout Paradise: Dissapointed about the lack of split screen multiplayer and the lack of the mode where you had to cause damage in an intersection. Was looking forward to playing that with the GF.
Driver San Fransico: The story is stupid but the shift mechanic makes the game really interesting.
StrangleHold: Was £2 at game. I remember it being better. Max Payne 3 is vastly superior.
Lord of the Rings War in the North: Been Enjoying playing it with the misses. its a competent hack and slash adventure game.
Can anyone suggest any good local multiplayer games for the PS3 I can play with my GF?
SkavenLord wrote: Got back into Xcom: Enemy Unknown after a while. All my specialists except two are dead or wounded and I now have to babysit three rookies to a crashed UFO site.
Yeah that tends to lead to problems like 3-4 guys panicking, peeing themselves in abject terror and trying to kill and panic each other (on impossible difficulty of course). Man f*ck xcom sometimes. Trained f*cking soldiers and they can't learn how to hold their sh*t together because one guy gets a nasty boo boo. Pansies the whole lot of em.
Mount and Blade Warband again. Vanilla with no cheats.
Allied with the nords, for early game. I typically use a boatload of nord warriors (veterans if I can get em) some vaeger archers, and a few manhunters with some swadian cavalry and sword sisters for my party. Huscarls and marksmen for my castle garrison. I have descent businesses at almost every town.
My right to rule is nice and high, so what I am waiting for is all the factions to declare against the nords, I'll secede from the nords and poach a castle or two from the nords. Then probably campaign against the swadians (who are almost dead).
^That game can be fun, especially now that I'm aware of and appreciate the value of holding industries in the towns, but I usually run out of steam/interest before I get too far. Taking over the map has been a goal but I usually get bored too quickly.

And by buggy, I mean crashing every time I tried to battle.
I actually haven't had any problems with it. I've battled two of the buddies in our group, and no issues, and I've battled/captured several wild pokemon. I put a couple hours into it yesterday, and it didn't crash on me once.
Did you have the ability to get Tepig as your starter? If not, you're in 2.5.7 which is the version that I know works well.
I'm playing the current version with the Gen 5 starters. I almost took Snivy, but went with Totodile.

Ya, Enemy Within fixes that for the most part. Soldiers still panic but they don't shoot each other nearly as much.

Thank the lord for just that, seeing how I just experieced that two of my MECs with colonel rank panicked and ran away. And left my sole sniper to kill the silly muttons, with a laser round to the head

My brother got a 5 block tall Feraligator in 2.5.7. Maybe it's our computer that doesn't like 3.0. Either way. have fun with it!

Ah I see well yes, those things really do help earliy in the game, alongside gene enhancement it really can make your troops reall powerhouses, but Mutons are decent enemies early on. Although they are preferebal to some of the later alien vermin that comes along. What sort of squad do you run?

Mostly a heavy and support squad that occasionally babysits a rookie or two. They usually rush into buildings. (makes floaters less of a pain) I'm really more worried about Cryssalids and Ethereals. (even though I haven't met Ethereals yet)

Well, if you have Enemy Within, a MEC with a flamer tends to make short work of lids. Instantly hits them and ignores cover. Since they like to gang up and try to surround your units you can fry all of them and finish them off with conventional weapons or an explosive. Research the jellied elerium upgrade, and you get a 9 damage Flamer, meaning those 'lids are, quite literally, toast.
If you don't have EW, then SHIVs are your friend here. They are cheaper and faster than your infantry, and tend to deal relatively more damage. Rockets and shotguns are also a nice counter.
Ethereals are a bit trickier. I found SHIVs tend be useful here, since they can't be MC'd. Lacking a SHIV, I usually soften up the Ethereal with explosives (the more damage it takes, the less effective it's reflect ability becomes), before moving in with a rapid fire assault or a sniper. Alternatively, you could try giving a soldier feedback (again, EW only). Hilarious ability.

Agreed on all acounts, Mecs will just about murder anything when you get them upgraded, and add that flamethrower upgrade on top. And yes, feedback is an ability that saved me several times, no more mindcontrol for you silly sectoid commander/ ethernals

Nah, SHIVs are in EU.
To get them, you have to :
- Research Experimental Warfare at the labs
- Build a Foundry
-Research SHIV at the foundry
- You then unlock a basic SHIV unit, that can be constructed at the foundry. Comes with something like 10 health and a 7 damage machine gun. Doesn't sound too impressive at first, but they can be upgraded with better weapons (which don't increase the price of the SHIV), and better armor (which does increase it's price, but you have the earlier versions available as well, with any weapon upgrades you researched)
Recently switched things up... As ive been settling into my new house, I've started alternating between Gran Turismo 6 on PS3, and Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls on my PC.
So far, I'm actually enjoying the changes/fixes to D3 since launch... however the game just seems to have gotten a bunch easier

Warframe's the most fun when you can group with a bunch of buddies and just start playing through. It's the sort of game that makes for a good "Weekly play session" sort of thing, skyping with college friends that live too far away to hang out regularly. Alone, though, it's a little too repetitive and grindy.
How's Kingdoms of Amalur, Excommunicate? I bought it a while ago on sale, but haven't downloaded it yet.
@cthululuspy and skavenlord: I'm not really into SHIVs in enemy unknown anyway. They can't be promoted, can't carry items and can't use cover. I never really used em though.

Lately I've been playing 'shadowrun returns' after buying a copy and its expansion during the current sale which is going on till Monday at noon or so my time. I also got a friend the game and its expansion. Would be nice if we could play it together but oh well. I feel like xcom handled the turn based combat better but I haven't played through enough of this and this game is also infinitely cheaper.

Well I like it, the combat is really fun, the item crafting is pretty solid and there are a lot of quests. The story may not be the most original or exciting and the environments while nice to look at aren't the most amazing ever seen. It has the reply value of trying it again with a different class or even a hybrid class, of course you can change your class during the game should you wish as long as you have the gold to pay a fateweaver.

Shivs are great in a supporting role, backing up your mechs or providig that last bit of fire support you need in a desperate fire figth with some evil alien overlord. And agreed on the Shadowrun part, played a fair bit of at a friends house. Not very impresed but its a decent game that is true to the original material
I loaded up Mass Effect, was going to play an adept but... didn't feel like shoving people around as much. Think I will either try the engineer with a grandfathered sniper rifle, or the infiltrator with either a shotgun or assault rifle added on. The medium armor and having a sniper rifle + shotgun/AR is fairly tempting, that and the stealth modes apparently available in ME2. Anyone have a good argument for the engineer instead? Does he just play medic all the time? Same with the sentinel?
Since SOE merged all of their games to one premium member account, anyone find any of their games entertaining? EQ2? Haven't felt like digging into PS2.
Batman: Arkham Origins and enjoying it immensely. 11 Hours and only I would say 30% completed. It feels odd. I guess its all the side stuff that I tend to forget that makes up 60% of the Batman games.

I don't think Sentinel or Engineer are really medic types (though I heard in ME1 the engineer gets a vehicle repair bonus). Then again, I never used these for the campaign. Shotgun and Assault Rifle are pretty good choices too (I think you get the Carnage power in ME1 if you take a class that can take a shotgun)
Personally, I went with Vanguard. You have to wait until ME2 to get better powers but the Vanguard powers in ME2 and 3 can be REALLY awesome (Biotic charge anyone?)

I litterally just redownloaded mass effect 1 onto my PS3. Going to start it up later.
Falskaar Mod for Skyrim. It's very good all round, the quest design and scripting is arguably more polished and interesting than Bethesda's original game and the dungeons are all well designed from a gameplay standpoint.
However the voice acting (on balance) and writing stinks plus the art design is very bland. It's as if when he was making the levels the mod author decided that he was only going to use vanilla assets as they were intended, none of the creativity shown in the scripting and quest design is on display in the art. As a result the world feels very unrealistic and gamey, when i first brought up the map i guffawed at how unrealistic it looked, it looked like 'Battle_Island_02', or some-such, from a 00's RTS. Skyrim itself actually looks fairly believable, at least in a condensed model railway layout kinda way.
The voice acting for the main quest and writing for the main quest is just ghastly (the way the worst VO guy says 'Caverns' is a particular low-light) but alot of the incidental stuff is great, alot better than the base game. However having completed Helgen Reborn, that has superb dialogue and VO, plus currently using Inigo as a follower it really falls short.
Almost rolled Adept but I saw the light and picked engineer. With bonus assault rifle, almost the same kit as Garus. I figure we'll chill out and be edgy and stuff. Of course, as cool as some of the ME2 vanguard powers were... Adept may pay off, oh well.
Was the bonus assault rifle unlocked in a previous playthrough?
I just started on PS3 (Played 360 last time.) been a long time since I played. Wen't for infultrator last time around I think so went Vanguard this time.
Yeah, anything you used enough. I could have picked warp or throw or maybe even the biotic shield thing I forget the name. AR sounded fun though, especially for when the boomheadshot power was cooling down.
Yeah parking on armatures and delivering the killing stroke on foot is hilarious. So is making badguys ragdoll with the throw power... Do the Adepts get really badass throw/explosion moves in ME2+? I know they wouldn't get biotic charge, but that thing with the successive concussive blasts in a line was pretty amusing too. Maybe I just need to play an adept to see...
Well in ME2, it looks like they get Throw and a power called Shockwave which is a pretty nice throwing-ish move (it goes through walls... I think). In ME3 they get cluster grenades so they get an explosive attack that works like frag grenades in ME3.
Oh, right. Also, after the first game, if you import your character from the first game to the second, you can still change your class in the beginning so if you want to play Engineer for ME1 and change your mind for Adept in the second, you can change it. This is only in the very beginning though and you won't get another chance to change it until you restart the second or you move on to the third.
I only played the infiltrator, but I think engineer is a lot like Tali. It specifically mentions healing the squad which... might be neat.. maybe. But I'm not sure if I'm down with the drones it would be using in the second game (if it still works like Tali).
I'm afraid adept will be too squishy and not "in your face" enough for me. Grandfathered AR helps mold the Infiltrator into something that can be fairly aggressive.
I think I'm just going to have to go google it and find tables for all of the powers of all of the classes and do some thinking
After reading about/considering all of the combos possible with the various biotic powers... may have to reroll adept afterall... Lift into sniper shot to the face. Lift into throw off the ledge. Singularity into party double throw. Since adept gets pistol and basic armor it wins for me over sentinel, and even the medic specialization wasn't enthusing me for engineer after reading up on it. I"ll just bring Tali.
I have been playing some early access games on Steam.
Endless legends; a fantasy 4x game based around Endless Space, pretty much a full game in terms of mechanics but a lot of content is needed for the final game.
Prison Architect; a game built around designing prisons. Surprisingly difficult but again fairly close to a finished game.
Maia; Dungeon Keeper in space, its in quite a primitive state at the moment.
Meridian; 'old school' RTS game. Not quite what I was expecting
Kensi: Mount and blade but with settlement building and a Japanese(ish) aesthetic.
I watched a video of Payday 2 where the player murdered 200+ constabulary officers to steal 50,000 bucks worth of jewelery. I never thought a game would make GTA 5's heists seem realistic and sophisticated.

Oh man, Maia and Kenshi look awesome. Good call.
And back to space engineers survival mode eating my life - nothing like reading a book while I weld heavy armor tiles.
Both have a long way to go, Maia is basically broken at the moment and its little more than a framework. Kenshi is missing a lot of features and its horribly balanced. This time next year though they should be a lot better.

Finally settled on an adept with an assault rifle, though I might have considered shotgun harder had I remembered its active ability. I'm having a lot of fun picking the meanest/most hostile responses possible and all of the gun waving and brow beating the renegade options entail.
The pistol in Mass Effect was easily the best weapon. I only ever used the shotgun/assault rifle when the pistol overheated. The sniper was only ever good if you had a fair amount of distance between the target and even then you probably had to get close to finish the enemy.
Decided to start playing a game from 14 years ago. I picked up the Sonic hits collection and I'm loving replaying through Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2
Yeah, renegade can be a lot of fun. I always preferred the shotgun over the pistol though.
Started playing Dwarf Fortress. I went on Adventurer mode to see what was what. (the whole game is in ASCII code)
Didn't know what to do so in the game so I randomly wrestled with a farmer. Now the entire village (which is full of people that seem to love hunting Dingoes for some reason) was trying to kill me. If you can get past the graphics being made out of letters and numbers, it's very detailed... even in combat... which can be pretty gruesome.
Started playing Persona 4 Golden on the Vita last week, haven't stopped since. I've only really been on the computer lately for tips on builds for the team members in the game, it is surprisingly addictive. The soundtrack is also pretty damn awesome.
Back to Skyrim for me. Playing through as a High Elf Paladin- Restoration, Heavy Armour, single sword and shield. Got Dawnguard installed, so gonna go heavy into the Sun magic and anti-undead stuff.
Been Playing Spec Ops following it's discount on steam. I've forgotten how much fun it can be to just waste an afternoon playing a linear, cinematic campaign. Makes me yearn for all the CoD campaigns i've missed out on (haven't played one since MW2, not out of snobbery btw). I really wish the multiplayer didn't hideously inflate the prices of even legacy CoD editions, i'd gladly pay ~$50 for a campaign Anthology.
Also a bit more Skyrim, really wish there were more mods that just added no nonsense extra content like Falskaar (only in quality mind, i'm not expecting the same scope). There's alot of ways to enjoy Skyrim's gameplay and visuals (especially with mods) but the vanilla missions have gotten seriously stale for me. Bethesda made it very easy to make new dungeons and, to some extent, quests with the Creation Kit.
Unfortunately the Creation Kit also made it easy to make followers and player homes so the Nexus is just knee deep in those. This does mean that because of sheer quantity there's alot of quality mods. However You'd think that after a couple years of Creation Kit there'd be enough user generated dungeons of high quality to keep me going indefintiely. There's certainly enough player homes and followers.
Maybe I'll try my hand at a couple quality dungeons, actually. I got into modding with Oblivion, and it's actually what put me on my current career path. I'm sure I'd be able to figure something out.
Anything in particular you'd like to see? Any enemies or dungeon themes you'd like to play against?
I honestly hadn't considered picking up mods to get *more content* beyond helpers and gear (which seemed boring). Additional themed dungeons and the like may warrant a look.
Played some of UFC undisputed 3 with freind yesterday. ITs very clunky and sometimes the fighters look like rockem sockem robots in how they move but I am looking forward to EA UFC in a few months as EA MMA was pretty good even though it needed polish in a lot of places.
On my PS4 infamous Second Son. I've run out of steam a bit, but that tends to heppen to me in the last legs of an open world game.
On my Vita, Dragons Crown and Muramasa Rebirth mostly. Just cannot geet over how gorgeous these games look and how fun it is going back to some old school side scrolling beatem ups.
I've been playing Empire: Total War and Assassin's Creed 3.
I got Empire the other week and discovered just how fascinating the 18th century is; so got some AWI Brits to paint up as well.
AC3 is great so far, but I'm only a couple of hours in.
More Shadowrun: Returns. I just replayed Dead Man's Switch as a Chi Caster instead of my usual, boring, Street Samurai. Now I've moved onto some of the mods and've started "The Deep Ones", which is a bit meh, despite being toted as being one of the better mods. I think I'll give Dragon Fall another playthrough, again with my Chi Caster, though I'll probably just create a custom class this time, as I wound up playing a runner who spent half their time throwing spells around (as is there quite a few shooty runs which could make that runner's close ranged playstyle a bit difficult, but I suppose its fun to see how to suceed despite this). However, I'm still yet to play a Decker or a Rigger. I'm not too bothered about Rigging, as its just an extra combat mechanic which I've already pretty much experienced, but Decking seems interesting. A pity however that that'd turn my Runner into a support character for the most part, but I would be able to move back into cyber tech again (the game does seem to have the same issues as the rpg in terms of essence loss, ie charging too much for certain things, but at least its not like the rpg in that you can actually afford to buy the stuff in the first place. ...Uh, or is that just the GM being a skinflint?).
Just got the new Wolfenstein game. Pretty fun so far. There's an easter egg "nightmare mode" where you play the old Wolfenstein game from '92.. blocky graphics and all
Necros wrote: Just got the new Wolfenstein game. Pretty fun so far. There's an easter egg "nightmare mode" where you play the old Wolfenstein game from '92.. blocky graphics and all
I didn't realize that came out this week! I'll have to pick that up for sure.
Also, I bought the original Wolfenstein on PSN. Such an awesome throwback. I swear, some of those maps were stupid difficult to get through simply because of the level design
Ooooh, Chronotrigger. I may have to remind the wife that exists so we can play it again
Still playing mass effect occasionally, renegade is quite (I'm usually habitually nice) fun but burnout limit is low so I'll not be too likely to do many side quests. Or I will. Depends on if I feel like plot or just spraying bullets and not-psychic powers around. And I'm not playing renegade just for the sake of it, if being an jerkwad is unreasonable then I'll pick paragon, the Racnii thing got to live, for instance.
I may actually have to buy the new Wolfenstein. I was never a big fan of FPS (borderlands notwithstanding), but the sheer quality of the story might make it worth the money. Plus, you know, Bethesda.
Wargame: Red Dragon is the game I'm playing these days. After the sale on it a friend got it for me and we've been playing. Funny how computers seem to cheat with resources and basically know where all your gak is whether their scouts are there or no. It's kind of like how in starcraft 2 and wh40k: dawn of war: dark crusade enemies can scan perfectly on your invisible guys across the map that they shouldn't even know exist.
Not sure what other games to play these days. I was playing 'shadowrun returns' for a while. The story is good until they talk about the trans-dimensional bugs. Yeah....
Back into Minecraft, and occasionally Natural Selection 2. Come back from a bit of a hiatus from gaming, and I'm really looking at getting invested into Wildstar when it comes out.

Now I never saw that decision as particularly "Paragon". In all my games the Rachni lived and the Krogan got the cure. Because when the Reapers came, I'd need a host of disposable troops to throw at them to keep a reasonable barrier between the Reapers and myself. I thought this would be necessary so I could concentrate on doing whatever was necessary to wipe out the Reapers.
And then in the end, I wimped out and chose the path that turned every being in the galaxy into a cyborg so that organincs and non-organics could finally live in peace.

I know.... It really took a dive from that point on, although I still enjoyed it somewhat. But thankfully there a host of very good mods for the game provided, by the community. I picked up the one named Nigthmare harvest or something along those lines last nigth. Although the creator of said mod seems to hate poor people with a burning passion, and thus have made them come across as somewhat feral in the game. I still enjoy it immensly, it has the correct amount of adult humor, rather disturbing characthers and completly insane plot twists. That and I got to push a butt naked dwarf wearing a bowtie into a hole and watch him die.

I really didn't like that ending. It didn't make sense at all and was basically just magic.
Spoiler:
How does everyone in the galaxy just some how become half robot half person?
Same with the others really. The ending was one big deus ex machina.
Currently nothing, I am really struggling to find a game that actually grips me... Think I am in a slump after the massive failure that was Rome 2 Total War.... That's a long slump....
Lol no worries, I was already pre-cringing for the ending having heard it was pretty much the same regardless of your "meaningful choices". Games are definitely about the journey for me, and I've got a ways to go before I even manage to get through ME1 again :p
I've been playing a lot of Heroes and Generals. Its a browser based(!) fps/strategy/RPG hybrid.
Basically the FPS game is fairly generic (and plays like any other FPS game, despite running in a browser window) with weapon, perk and class unlocks. It also has a strategic game where you purchase and deploy battle groups which give additional respawns in the FPS game and possibly access to tanks and aircraft.
It sounds a little ropey and its horribly balanced yet its suprisingly enjoyable and its completely free linky
A buddy kept talking to me about starbound so I bought it over the weekend. Seems like terraria on steroids and it's still in development. Think it'll be a good little time waster for sure.
The first starcraft game. Dunno why I feel like playing it but sure enough I am. Hopefully I get past the zerg campaign soon because zerg were always my least favorite of the 3 factions.

I have been playing that a bit lately too. Pretty fun. I also tried starmade, it's very alpha, but it's very fun.
I finished Wolfenstein yesterday, its actually quite decent for a 'mindless' shooter. Some issues with it, namely health sponge enemies, but it managed to create some emotional depth that it entirely absent from the vast majority of big name FPS games. Its ending is quite stupid although as usual it left scope for at least some DLCs.
Battlefront 3 is currently free on Origin so I gave it ago, its single player is positively wretched. Stupid QTEs, card board cut out baddies and distinctly poor enemies. Its multiplayer is quite fun but it is rapidly losing its lustre.
Not on the 360 or PS3, mind you, but on the systems it was actually designed for. The 360/PS3 versions are late production ports, done in a rush by DICE LA.
I took a break from Watch Dogs to finish The Last of Us. Mostly because I loved the game but super side tracked when I was nearing the end. I really should have just done it, I was only 2 hours from the end.
I'm probably going to wait to do any real building in star bound until it releases, so nothing gets wiped. Having enough fun exploring sector X working through the various qualities of ore and so on. When the game IS fully released... gonna build the gak out of the wiring and skyhook stuff.
