- Start a new project. Could be time to shelve the terrain, pick up your IG or some other project. Some Raptor Legion Space Marines maybe?
- Throw out your current style of painting, try something new. Airbrush would be an easy jump, but your could also try some new advanced techniques.
- Sign up for a tournament, preferably one with a painting standard. Give yourself plenty of time, but include as many new things in it as possible.
Thanks paul... Hint hint nudge nudge
My ig could use some love. I just don't feel like painting at all. Playing more might be just what I need. Maybe I am losing my love of the game Thanks again buddy
Anyone else want to chime in?

Subtle hint indeed
But it is a color scheme that you seemed to be enjoying, and if your tired of terrain, and daunted by IG, maybe firing up a small kill team might be a be a nice break.

Get a friend over and play a game with all the awesome terrain you've already made. It will give you a chance to see how awesome it is and that all the work is paying off. You might even come up with some ideas that you can add in to make it not just look great, but to help make it a more functional playing space.

If it's just the painting that you've lost motivation for switch to building some stuff, maybe a kill-team like WM suggested, little projects like that are great for getting things kick-started again.
I tend to flick back and forth between painting and modelling (well, alright, I occasionally amble over to the paint side of things, have a few flicks with a brush, then amble back to the cutting and chopping), but if motivation for both has gone, I stay away for a couple of days, spend a bit more time playing video games, watching movies etc. until I start getting twitchy about building some more stuff.

Thanks buddy that is good advice.Space marine is out in september! I bought a six foot folding table today, so hopefully I will have a game or two on it soon. If I do end up having a game , would anyone want to see a batrep?
Also on a side note, anyone have experience with vallejo model a air? Birthday airbrush has been confirmed! My question is do you have to thin them before using them ? What is your favorite brand of paint to use? Can anyone recommend any good sites for air brush techniques?
Thanks as always guys,

I use VMA - it is probably best to thin it - I tend to do between 1:2 and 1:8 thinner:paint (mostly 1:4). I'd really recommend doing the practices that will probably be in the manual - learning how to control the paint and air streams (especially if you have a dual action brush). The citadel paints don't seem to like being thinned with the airbrush thinner, so you would probably be best using straight water, or any other thinner you may have success with normally. You may also have to pump up the PSI as they are just chunkier generally Oh and the thought of having an airbrush is totally getting me excited to paint again! Woo!

Its good to see your trying to keep yourself motivated Mike, as always I would love to see more update's.
I actually need to keep myself motivated aswell, as my city has also been put on hold, maybe we should make a combined blog with the intention of one of us or even both of us updating it once a week.
Should be awesome fun and it'll help us get the motivation we need, if anyone else agrees, likes the idea or has a better one let me know.

I'd call for some chimera in water converting. Or Land Raider underwater stuff (they can submerge up to 37.5 meters, according to Imperial Armour). I now command some such in your canals when you make them. Or some gondolas nicely futurified.

I do have an unopened chimera... Sounds like that could be fun. Maybe some pontoon style floats, and a periscope! Definitely would need a pirate flag, maybe a veteran squad using catachan guardsman

Hmm...any kind of terrain? Not just buildings and CoD stuff? If I can get it rebuilt (broke on move from college) then I'd defininently be interested.

Competition is always a good way to get stuff done
Shoulda warned you, once you get the basics down, you'll want a compressor with a tank. Especially if you got a 2 stage airbrush. The "Hobby" compressor can't keep the amount of spraying you'll be doing, particularly on large surfaces (read, buildings, tanks).
