Ok done a bit more today, decided to do all of the indents on the Razorback and put the name on it.

I also thought I would keep the skull theme going so I put some on the Landspeeder too!

It has occurred to me that I also have another Rhino, a Landraider and by the gods the Drop pod to do too, a lot of work ahead but it will look very cool! oh yea forgot that I have also made a second Landspeeder!

Hi guys done a bit more this time on the land raider, some more skulls and after a tip from Gitsplitta I got a Pigma Micron 005 pen which has made doing the skull outlines much faster.

I got mine from Grafton Crafts at graftoncrafts.co.uk for £2.50 delivered, I was so impressed I've bought another red one and a spare black.

Here's the Land Raider so far,

Well it's not much but a bit closer to the finish

You are completely mad, but in a +5 Vorpal sword kind of way!

The skulls are awesome and they complement the red very well.

Keep up the good work

I'm really happy to see you've continued the skull patter onto all your vehicles. The time you're spending really pays off.

You know... much as my army is very old school with exclusively Mk-1 vehicles... I gotta say that I really like the new land raider. And your skulls are gonna be just perfect on it.

I'm digging the skulls. Gives em a nice continuity that isn't boring like an IG tank designation.

Impressive skulls! if I had the talent to do that I would totally have that all over my models!

Just started work on this guy I picked up at the forge world open day, actually I picked up three of them, they are great models and will make nice additions to my Vanguard vets.

I'll put some WIP pics soon. I've also started converting some old plastic terminators to try and get them looking less static. I'll show you what I'm up to with them too!

It is the Forge world event only model this year he was £12.

I often wonder if people actually read this blog or just look at the pretty pictures!?

Some good stuff in here, enjoyed the read immensely!

Two things (warning: contains some harsh objective criticism):

You are clearly a superb painter but the red does not look that great in the photos, shame. The Red *appears* tonally flat, over-glossy and over-washed..

Also personally i had to think about it for a bit before i realised what your symbol was... It really looks more like a glyph or eastern style character than a wing. (Infact i swear one of the symbols on the stargate looked identical..). Not to say it doesnt look great, it is beautifully done...

Just my two pence...

EDITED FOR CLARIFICATION.

I'm afraid the red does not photograph well and is not as flat as it appears. (might be my skill/lack of skill with my camera) I do intend to weather the whole army more once I have got them all painted like I have done with the dreadnoughts. They actually have quite a matt finish but the flash on the camera makes it look as if I have three layers of gloss on them. With the symbol I went for a stylised version of the symbol on the front cover of the book crucible of war, I wanted it fairly simple as clearly I have to paint it a few times.

Don't worry about giving criticism I'm a big boy and welcome comments and input, everything you have said is fair.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Ok had the airbrush out tonight and under coated a few more models and tried some zenithal painting of the red (We'll see how that turns out!!).

Decided to have a bit of a treat and paint one of my favourite models the Terminator Chaplain, here is a wip pic;

Hopefully get some more done tomorrow!

Well I've been up to a bit more this evening, it has been a hectic last weekend so didn't get anything done but did manage to try gliding for the first time which was awesome! The winch launch was something else!

So this is how far i have got with my Terminator Chaplain, some progress pics;

I hope you all like the work so far! C&C always welcome.

I also took a picture of my first attempt to convert up one of the old plastic terminators and convert him to lightning claws;

I'm afraid he still looks a little static!

Well I hope you enjoyed my quick update I'm quite exited about finishing the Terminator Chaplain!

Thanks Gits, they seem to be looking up to the right hand corner of the screen which was not really the effect I was going for as he should be looking where his gun will be pointing!
A little coat of Tamia Clear Green really helps bring them up!

Hi everyone! Just been down to GW Southampton to get my Games Day ticket and have a look at the new Fine Cast miniatures in the new resin! I bought a Librarian in terminator armour, a really cool model, I thought you might be interested in seeing it.

Here he is trimmed up and blue tacked together;

And with the two other options instead of the open hand;

Here is what he looks like in the new packet;

They have made new moulds not used the original metal ones and I was surprised quite how many were available for the release day. Here he is on the sprues;

The resin is quite nice as it is slightly flexible and not as rigid as forge world's, but there are some miss moulds in the form of bubbles in the resin I've taken a few pics to illustrate both the flexibility and the air bubbles.

The resin is lovely to take off the sprue and you can use your clippers usually reserved just for plastic, it is relatively easy to trim up with a scalpel too. the air bubbles are a pain but relatively common with resin and can be filled with green stuff or milliput and then sanded down. I haven't tried painting it yet and I'll let you know how I got on!

I'll probably finish the Terminator Chaplain this weekend and do some more skulls on the vehicles (boy am I wishing I had chosen something different to do!) and possibly do the boarding marine.

Feel free to post any comments on what you all think about the new fine cast models, including the further price rise.

OH-I Wanna get out of here

Wonder why everyone seems to have picked up that model in particular. Was this one more available then the others? Yours seems to be in the realm off acceptable, though the storm bolter seems a bit much.
