I don't know much about Grey Knights but i had heard from my FLGS that they may or may not be getting a reboot. I would be interested in picking up a few models to with my Blood Angels and Tau Armies, as for the banter in this thread i am unconcerned either way be there an image of a miniature or not! I'm not bothered!

I need mutlipart plastic demonhunters. I have always looked at them and thought: My god, if they werent about £50 a squad, I would start an army.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there hasn't been an 'Incoming' for the Orks and Gobbo's yet
Yes there was, that was weeks ago. It contained no detailed info, but announced the month of release.

Now the question is, not only what new GK items will be released if any beyond the basic troops in power and terminator armor, but how much will it all cost. One reason you see few GK armies around is the cost of the power armor troopers. I've collected a small force of the current range, but if the plastic basic troops cost as much in plastic as they do now in pewter I can't imagine there being a lot of huge armies of these still showing up on game tables. Then again, if they are as high points elite types as rumors suggest, one may not need that many and the price therefore may reflect that by being fairly high.

Also, 3 months is much earlier than GW usually reveals the incoming goodies IMO.
What gives?

Given GW's habit of making stuff cheaper when it transitions from metal to plastic, I think the costs won't be too out of proportion.

What?

The whole point of this thread is that Grey Knights ARE getting a new Codex - in fact, this has just been officially confirmed by GW.

Your FLGS needs an update!

I remember the first time FFG posted that pic. The first thought that ran into my head was:

"Dave - Put your sword away. We're trying to plan something here."

And isn't that a larger problem - all your big previews and articles and actual content available after the release?

He talked about it a bit in the Grey Knights rumor thread back on Bolter & Chainsword. He's already got a basic story and names down (centers around Grey Knights and a female Inquisitor and her retinue), though stuff may change as his editors get a better look. He also wants to write a World Eaters book, though I can't remember if it's supposed to be pre- or post-Heresy.

Just google his name for his blog if you want update.

But it benefits those who don't want to buy the new codex? I'm not saying it's the best way, but I don't think it was entirely wrong, either.

I hope the new termies (if there are new termies) look as good as the current metal GK termies. Maybe GW will still let us buy the metal ones from the collectors range. Ya know, like they did with the metal Diaz demonettes!

it's also a practice they specifically singled out in last year's stockholder report as one going the way of the dodo. they now consider their plastics to be of a quality that they can charge as much or more than the previous metals.

I think the general consensus is that Dark Eldar are largely balanced, as are much of Blood Angels and Tyranids. Arguably, as much as it pains me to say it, the Codices have been getting more and more balanced game-wise.

That is of course, only game-wise. I'm not looking forward to Grey Knights allying with Tyranids to fight off Tau or something. Maybe they'll combine BA and SW and have Grey Knights riding Tyranids?

Then again, haters gonna hate and all that...

Oh the DE? OP? I think that remains to be seen.

I just hope they get some variety in force org choices, if the codex ends up being:

HQ Big GK, InqLord
T GKs
E GK Termies
FA GK teleporter guys, Chibihawk
HS Dread, Landraider, Orbital Strike

All the armys will have a pretty boring similar pattern. Regardless of how cool the models are if the list variety is that 2D I don't see it going very far. Especially with no Allied rules...

Exactly!

I think they're at roughly 50% cheaper/more expensive when doing this - though I, of course, may be off here.

I don't see them cutting us many breaks on an "elite" model count style army though.

And I don't see GK terminators coming in cheaper than 'regular' terminators...

Dark Eldar are "overpowered"? Got any real reason for thinking that, or are you just one of those people who cry about every new release being broken when in fact they have no idea what they're talking about?

Because we all know how broken Tyranids turned out to be, right?
