I wont say how much I played, we will call it "a lot." luckily my boss is the kind of boss who took a month off to raise his ranks playing Starcraft II, so no actual damage to my life, haha. (plus our last project looks great, we just got an invite to Tribeca film festival for the finished film!)

SelvaggioSaky wrote:Absolutely subscribed and in awe!

Yes, I love me some epic shoes. I got some jacket work to match the shoes!
I got the basics for the structure points done. I still have to add glyph plates and weathering.
I got the rest of the hull getting worked on right now, just waiting to brush the salt off. After that will be to bring it up to the level of detail of the hull plates.
Next up is a huge amount of artwork to the front of the beast. I wanted something unique, but not clan specific. As part of the Glyph stage, I'll be adding this three-stage monstrosity. (in addition to the usual deluge of Ork graffiti.)
Nearing the finish line boyz, nearing the finish line.

I needed to do something different, due to the size. I was just going to make it a rusted hulk, but after staring at the rust for so long I decided it needed something more. plus all the scaffolding that goes around it will all be rust colored, so I decided a more classic look was needed.

Whats funny is I convinced myself to get one for work, but due to the difficulties in moving the tank I'm pretty sure it's just gonna stay at home unless I'm shooting in the swamp again. I still justify it by saying I'm extending the life of my compressors! I just love the silence. pure, clean air, no filters needed.

They look right when he has everything on, and I found out recently that they keep stuff from getting to close to his plates and knocking them off. Plus I love me some curled genie shoes, gives him a...uh...unique look.
D.Smith wrote:

Whats funny about that was when I played Inquisitor, My main team was lead by an Ordo Xenos Ork hunter. as per usual, he used the weapons of the enemy, so he had a Custom-combi gun and a Ork chainsword. but then everyone started using the stupid marine guy, who just killed everyone so I switched to Fabius Bile. (Then promptly stopped playing as the game went the way of the Dinosaurs.)
Have I got an update for you!
It starts with stencils made from the drawings I posted last time. these suckers were so big, I had to break out the giant sheet of acetate.
Here's the cut templates.
I wound up changing them quite a bit as I painted.
Here's the completed Symbol of Gork. (or possibly Mork.)
I had to take the picture in subdued lighting, the paints I use are gloss and can't be photoed in direct light. The colors are really bright, once I get it matte coated I'll get much better pictures.
I really like painting this. It's the first time that I've added something so big I could paint it the way I would canvas, in a really loose cross-hatch style. I'm pretty happy with the results, it works for it's size but is in a very different style then what you usually see.
Up next, I got the rest of the main hull painted.
lastly, a picture of it disassembled, and one of my son holding it. He is not small.
The front plates are now 99% complete. all thats left is the final layers of weathering, which I will do all at once when the entire thing is painted. (loose powder works best when you apply then clear coat immediately, haha.)
I still need to build a last layer of detail onto the engine, I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep painting finished pieces or go back to building. (I still need to fix the shoulders ands finish the Lifta-Droppa.)

Wow, just wow. This is coming together so well! It's going to make an amazing center piece to your army! Super Job!
As for the CO2 tank, I lugged a 20 pounder rental tank around to my markets and birthday parties last year. Had it in a hiking back pack, makes it a bit easier to tranport, but this year, I'm buying a smaller 5 pounder that will be much eisier to move. Yeah, the tank is silent, and you don't have to look around for a plug-in if you are somewhere new!
