They are next up after I finish this wolf army.

Here is the example of turning a paint into a wash. I used Loren Forest and Medium to create a wash

So all the Thunderwolf bases received their 2nd color tonight Vallejo Model Air Dark Earth

And a few close up shots of the bases after the color is applied. Nothing earth shattering.

The one good thing is by doing these in bulk they'll all be finished at the same time.

More to come..

So while watching The Hobbit I knocked out the 3rd highlight color for my bases using a 1:1 mix of Skull White and Administratum Grey and highlighted all the rocks, stones, and grey sand areas. This highlight is critical to pick out the details of the stones to make them really pop.

I’m sure glad GW is going to all plastic, so the ever-rising cost of white metal won’t impact the cost of their miniatures.

Well I got home from work and decided that today was a day to finish basing these wolves!

I did a light light light drybrush of Vallejo Chrome onto the rocks and stones.

After finishing that highlight color I went back and picked out areas I wanted to be a bit darker with Vallejo Black/Brown

And with that we're calling these done. All I will be doing now is cleaning up the edge of the bases with GW black.

Next I'll be completing assembly of the riders and finishing up the last 10 Fenrisian Wolves.

More to come...

Tonight I was over my good friend Bellygrubs house to spend a little time and work on figures. As mentioned previously he and I will be fighting a 3 day Campaign in November. Bellygrub has come up with 3 great scenarios, the first battle being an Imperial Church that the Orks intend to loot and plunder for an ancient artifact. The caretakers of the church are Inquisition Priests along with various Servitors. So with bags of bits I sat down and was able to put this guy together using Cadian and Space Marine bits. Not bad I think!

I plan on assembling 5 to 6 more Servitors using bits from various sources. Fodder for the Orks!

Thanks for the example on the wash. Definitely going to try it out. I plan to go with the red coat and paint just doesn't work as well for fabric. At least I have trouble making the red work. Wolves look great as well, like the way you used the slate on the bases.

The Wolves and their bases are looking fantastic. Keep it up!

A side project done while waiting for washes to dry.

Grot Bombs!

And the last of my Fenrisian Woves are finished. I am done done done painting wolves. Now to base them!

Next up Space Wolf riders...

I cant say it enough, these wolves are beautiful. You have really pulled off a rich color for the fur. Are you going with the GW bluish Space Wolves or the older gray color?

Much appreciated. The Fenrisian Wolves are done completely using washes. Only the final highlight is hard painted. I can kick them out pretty fast. Once I find a tutorial I like it makes it so much easier.

For the riders I am going to paint them a dark grey, most likely an GW Adeptus Grey base color that I'll airbrush on. I then plan to use Vallejo chrome (the chrome I use on the rocks) and do a light drybrush over the grey to make it look like metallic grey. We'll see how it comes out. I want the armor muted but shiny. If that makes any sense. The shoulder pads will be the dark red of Harald. I'll attempt decals inside the shoulder pads of the howling wolf. I can't freehand for so decals are my only option.

I’m sure glad GW is going to all plastic, so the ever-rising cost of white metal won’t impact the cost of their miniatures.

My snow mat arrived today!

I'm really happy with the way the bases look on it too!

I bought 3 packs of "Christmas" trees from Michaels. It's a 21 piece set. Already pre based! Perfect!

Well, if you check out Sister Sydney's homebrew/expansion rules, you'll find all kinds of units the Sisters could have, that fit with the theme of the Sisters (as a tabletop army) perfectly well, and are damn-near-perfectly balanced.

I’m updating that fandex now & I’m eager for feedback on new home-brew units for the Sisters: Sororitas Bikers, infiltrators & Novices, tanks, flyers, characters, superheavies, Frateris Militia, and now Confessors and Battle Conclave characters

That Ogryn army is so awesome! I agree with everyone who is saying that this is what Unbound armies are made for. Can't wait to see the finished army with it's allied Knights in support. By the way, I enjoyed reading your fluff a lot too. The narrative really helps bring these guys to life. Keep up the great work!

Oh, and sorry for the noob question, but can anyone help me subscribe to this thread? Is that a DCM-only feature? I'm still kind of new to Dakka and would really like to subscribe to this thread but can't seem to figure out how to do that.

Ah, there it is! Somehow that bit at the very bottom had eluded me. Thanks for the help.

So...

After being away for a bit I have returned! During my absence I was able to get a few things painted AND get a game or two in at the convention!

Here is the FW limited edition Skin Wolf I painted up. I have two more to finish. They will be crypt horrors in my undead army.

While at the convention we played a bit of Mordheim!

Here are my vampire and dregs I completed for my undead warband.

And a couple action shots!

I think it's cool, there's a gas mask head from Inquisitor I was gonna use on one though never got around to it, if it's the right sorta style you can have it if you want OP, no charge.
