monkeytroll: I have to paint, I've built everyhting for the waagh!! . And, in all fairness, the skin had already been done on these guys, saving quite some time. As for the chibi-halberd guy: just shows how easily you can convert a mini. I've found with the grots, that it's all about changing the silhouette when compared to the original model. Besides, this guy's sword doesn't offer that many options, so this seemed like a logical choice

Vitruvian XVII: Thanks! The rust is done using Vallejo pigments, though they're a tad less bright irl. As for the warlord: I haven't assembled anything yet. it's been in the planning phase for a while now, and with the grot's finish in sight, I decided I needed to get a new project going. My FLGS had a mispack of a fortress of redemption, and I'm hoping I can get my hands on that. It would help out lots . Still, I'll keep those musings for the warlord thread, when it gets started. Don't hold your breath though, could still be weeks or months!

Gitsplitta: lots and lots . Or 68 to be exact plus four kommissars. Not all that much, but it's the converting that's taken up a lot of time. I'm still aiming for a total of 120 + 12 kommissars, but that'll be a very slow project one the stuff I need will be finished. getting 52 more original poses is going to be a challenge...

dsteingass: Thanks! I consider myself more of a converter though. While I can paint models in a decent fashion, it's more 'technical', more about doing it the right way, while modelling simply is natural to me. Not to say that I don't enjoy painting, but painting is about getting the model done, while modellinbg is about modelling in itself. Don,'t know if that makes any sense, but hey, what would you expect from a demented grot

That dude can be Grot Rambo - you know Grotter Harley needs to be using a bow & chicken...

The arms are waving all over the place, but the body itself is slightly bigger than a marine. I'm gussing they're slitghly taller then regular lootas but, I doubt anyone will be pulling a 'modelling for advantage' thing on me.

bigfish: Getting them around involves solid modelling: They take up a lot of room, but the models are built pretty solidly, so they won't break off easily.

In the meanwhile, my insomnia granted me some time to get the remaining 3 burnagrots blacked in. I also applied the DA green basecoat for the skin:



I hope get the skin done this evening. I've also been working on some more grots, but I'll post those up when they're completely finished. I'm also gonna build some more basic grots, so I can use some of the classic models as riggers/ammo grot counters .
