So I wouldn't be at all surprised to see more flyers introduced along the way to cover DA, BT and SW armies.

Really dislike the nw SM gunship - but then I also did not like Stormraven at all - especialy when compared to the stirking apperance of the Thunderhawk / Valkiriye

The Ork flyers on the other hand -very very cool

Well they would need to buy multiple StormTalons since they are considerably smaller. Wouldnt they?

You're trying too hard to find something to ridicule GW about with this.

Releasing the Storm Talon isn't intended to encourage GK or BA players to start regular Marines any more than the Ork bombers are supposed to encourage them to start Orks. They're just releasing flyers for those armies that don't have them yet. So people who do have those armies will buy them.

The Storm Talon is just crying out to be converted to a helicoptor. Put the jets on it as fixed forward-facing, but blades on top and a couple of stub wings with underslung autocannons, and voila.

I think I'll end up shortening or removing altogether the lower portion of the rudder or whatever, but that's about it

It really does seem nice to me but I suppose I like absurdly huge guns.

I don't think the Storm Talon looks that bad, it makes me think of a 40K version of a "Little Bird"-esque aircraft. Looks better in profile than from the front.

No. You're on the internet where in every games system and in every genre the developers and designers and companies are ridiculed and verbally assaulted on a daily basis. It's a sleek model with distinct Space Marine characteristics and it will sell. The brain fart of the landing gear on the oversized assault cannon mount is an easy fix. The model is otherwise fine as is.

Actually, the underslung turret really is that bad. Just saying.

The nose turret is too big. Whoever thought it was a great idea to put the landing gear on the turret needs to be slapped. The placement of the Lascannons (and the size of the thing that holds them) is dumb.

I actually like the Storm Talon, despite particularly hating the Storm Raven.

One thing I have issue with though is the flying stand, since the Talen is a relatively small craft the flying stand just drowns it out entirely.

I wonder what would take to file the flying stands down or whether just getting a pole would look better.

I think one of my biggest qualms with the Stormtalon is there's so much going on over such a small model, particularly the front.

It looks better in some of the other pictures, but its still an ugly model IMHO.

Agreed!

A minor bit of work and will look quite nice!

Of course, we really shouldn't have to reduce/remove/remodel anything to this degree, but such is life!

I wouldn't do that as the plane stands on its lower rudder when on the ground. It can't balance on the turret alone

I have to wait for Chaos codex and its supposed dragon flyer. Could be a good reason to buy a Stormtalon to make a count-as.
