My dad got me this awesome thing today at the thrift store
Its like a belt backpack, thats roomy (can fit ammo, maps, spent clips, etc etc in 3 pockets) and has things for two water bottles (aka more mags). its like a backpack fannypack
it fits on the lower back and I'm going to get shoulder straps for it as well, and if I get a front-only Molle chest rig and wear both together I'll be set.

Aww man, I don't know if it is just 'bad internet translation/not being able to hear sarcasm/it's just a joke and I didn't 'get it', but my intention was never to belittle or put down people who didn't have 'all the superawsome tatical issued gear'. I just hope that I didn't make you feel down about the gear you have and use. That is one of the great things I loved about airsofting, no matter what gear you used, gun you had, how you played, as long as you where having a good time and not a donkey-cave the community made you feel welcomed.
I also agree with you in reguard to ' don't cheap out on your first gun purchase.' 100%. If you buy a half decient gun like a, TM (which I was told to buy as a first gun. It's easy to work on, the local gun doctor/airsoft store usually have a butt load of spare parts kicking around for it and they don't break the bank if you decide airsoft isn't for you.) you can also get your money back out of it if you decide Airsoft isn't for you. A cheap gun is just nothing but a money pit and the amount you save on a gun is usually off set by the number of times you will have to fix/repair or buy a new gun.

My airsoft gun shoots at about 380 fps. How much would a nub silencer add to that on my AK-74?

Depends. Are you extending the barrel through the suppressor? If so, it'll add a little but, but not a lot. Longer barrels are mainly for accuracy, not FPS increase. Pistons, seals, and springs are what you need for that...and motors...and gears...haha

FPS is important, but only to a point. I think when your gun gets... ~450 FPS with .2s, you've really gotten it to its practical peak. Anything that hits harder than that will leave bloody welts and stuff, which isn't good. Accuracy is probably more important that FPS, although they run hand in hand. I think silencers look pretty cool. Especially on pistols, where it has some functional value.

It looks like it has a port to clip in a speed-loader, then it unclips and the gun is loaded. that's what the 6th picture looks like to me.

OH.I thought that was a spent shell thing ejecting. That makes more sense. Looks like a beauty. I bet the action's great. That's what really makes a nice airsoft shotgun, imo. Has to feel good in your hands or you might as well just be using an AEG.

This airsoft version seems to have a longer barrel than many real 1892's. Given the FPS and barrel length, I would imagine that it is more than fairly accurate.

My G&G won't arrive till Monday...and I ordered it last Friday...I like a lot of things about Evike, but I loathe the shipping Oh, and if you guys are looking for cheap lipo batterys check out this site http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__475__85__-50_7E65C_Discharge.html. I know two guys that have their lipos are they really like them. Oh, and on the FPS subject, I think 380-410 is the best - anything higher is just silly, and asking to hurt someone.

Anyone know if one of the 40mm airsoft grenades will fit into a 40mm PVC pipe? I've been messing around with the idea of making my own grenade launcher and using my thumb as a firing pin

And even 500 FPS won't hurt someone wearing a leather jacket or a thick military jacket. Been hit in the forehead with 500 FPS though (actually another player with a KJW Mk1 Carbine), and that hurt quite a bit. (not enough to stop playing or anything. I just went back to the spawn point, wiped off the blood, and was back in action.)

Also, does anyone have a recommendation for a relatively low priced AEG that will most likely not break?

indeed I did, I didnt want an ak or m4/16, as I like to have a unique gun

if the internal diameter of the pipe is 40mm, then it should fit and catch with the rim on the back of the shell. You may need to lube up the inside of the pipe because there isn't much of a differential between the grenade and the pipe.

I'm not sure is using your thumb will work, actually. The pin in the bottom of the grenade isn't very sensitive, so unless you hit it with a hammer or something, it might not actually shoot. It's worth a try though!
I've actually heard that you can fire Airsoft grenades with Issue M203 Grenade launchers, and that you can fire grenades with airsoft launchers... Which would be illegal (destructive device, blahblah). Not sure how much confidence to put into that. I mean, they are pretty much the same thing, but I don't know.
If anyone actually has a 40mm grenade, try it out and let us know

The mechanisms in the airsoft launchers are quite different from the real ones, you could probably set of an airsoft grenade in a real launcher, but there is no way of using an airsoft launcher to fire real 40mm grenades. Airsoft grenades only require that the pin be pushed to a certain depth, real grenades depend on the primer being triggered by a strong hit from a firing-pin that is cocked when the loading breech is open/closed. Airsoft grenade launchers aren't cocked and only transfer pressure from the trigger onto the pin.

Ah, well that makes sense. Don't remember who I heard that from, but I'll be sure to remind whoever it was that they're wrong
Seems like an actual m203 might do some damage to your airsoft 40mm grenades. It would be silly to try it.

Looks nice, I'll probably either go with something like this or the Dboy full metal real wood AK. So how does this m4 perform? In the picture it looks like the carrying handle can be removed to reveal a rail system, good news there. The only bad thing is that it's out of stock, and Evike takes FOREVER to restock things. I like it. It could shoot a little farther and maybe have a higher ROF, but it's a great gun. Hardly ever jams up, unless you use .12s or something. You can put any sort of scope your heart desires on it, haha.
I've heard good things about that AK too. Both would be a good choice.
A lot of other places sell the combat machine, although for about ten dollars more, usually. I think evoke has a strong partnership with g&g that let's them sell their products with custom parts for so cheap.

Eh, I'd stray away from the DBoys AK...the "full-metal" is cheap pot-metal and the "real wood" it like particle board. I bought the DBoys AKS-74U as my first gun, and I don't regret it, but I wish I bought a better/different one. The stock motor sucks, and it'll need a better barrel. The overall performance is just not there...Unless they changed their quality since '08 when I bought my gun...
I'd recommend saving up and getting the Echo1 Red Star AK series or the Echo1 Vector Arms AK series (if you can find it)...I know CYMA makes some pretty good AKs also.

Thinking about an M17 USGI or an Israeli M15, although a USGI M40 or M45 would be the absolute best (aside from running over 200$ for a complete set...)
Or I could just not buy one and wait until I join the navy. When you're on a ship, you get something that looks like this:
Which is just a modified m40
I want to play a special airsoft game where it would be a simulation of coming under attack from chemical agents and having to defend your post from the other team, in full NBC gear (or at least heavy clothing, as NBC suits are expenisve), gas mask and limited reloads (it would be implied that you had little time to do more than put your suit on)....

The first: http://www.airsoftgi.com/mobile/product_info.php?cPath=28_172&products_id=3681
Pros: cheaper, already geared out
Cons: no customization
The second: http://www.airsoftgi.com/mobile/product_info.php?cPath=28_172&products_id=2048
Pros: customization, not too much more than #1, more area to work with
Cons: have to buy all pouches
Suggestions?
