I didn't get to airsoft this weekend

BUT my F2000 arrives today...so that means I'm playing this weekend for sure!!!

AGM L96came in today. Pretty sweet. It was too windy though.

Plus, I'm a fantastic counter-sniper, so it was loads of fun.

I really wish I kept all my Airsoft piccies....can't seem to find them on this puter. At the time I had a Styer AUG TM AEG.

This sucks I can't find them....=o[

I'm still trying to decide on what camo to get with my new load-out...I would feel weird wearing Russian camo with a non-Russian gun haha

As long as the story doesn't relate to you neglecting to carry/transport your gun in a gun case in public, then let's hear it. Otherwise, I think we all know the story.

Okay. So! Me and my friend were en route to the 'dump' which is basically just a place that our city dumps off piles of natural waste (trees, leaves, old mulch, etc) and turns it into new mulch for our parks and such. We had out guns in guitar bags, and we were walking for about... 10 minutes to get there.

We made it to the dump fine, but then we took our guns out of the bags and began setting up and stuff (Putting BBs in, attaching scopes, etc). A woman was running with her dog about a hundred feet away and asked us if we were going to be shooting. We told her "yes, but we can go over there if you like. We won't shoot anywhere near you". So we're walking over to a different spot in the dump, and we begin to draw up the terms of battle.

But she apparently hauled ass out of there, and drove off, not a few minutes after we had started walking to our new spot. SO! We were happy to have our usual spot back (Two big hills, with a perfect sniping spot and nice blank spots and etc). I set up on the hill with my sniper, and my friend started on the other end with his M4. We had just started, and then....

Two Police vehicles, one an unmarked chevy Tahoe and the other obviously a police car. I put my sniper down and put my hands above my head without a second thought. He pulled up and pulled his gun out and pointed it at me.

"Put the gun down!"
"Okay! Sorry!"
"Put your hands up!"
"Yes sir!"
"is there another guy?"
"Yes, he's around the hill (______ Put your hands up and walk slowly! The police are here)"
*Friend doesn't believe me (What? No, stop bullshitting)*
* Me (put your gun down and put your hands up, for christ's sake!)*
*He's still being an idiot, and another few cop cars come down the road. He sees them, but keeps holding the gun low, like an idiot*
*Cops get out of car and point an actual M4 at him, and he drops it and puts his hands up, finally*

Meanwhile, I'm inching down the hill, with my gun still up on the hill, as he instructed me to do. I carefully walk down, and he checks all my pockets and finds my speedloader and I tell him very clearly as soon as he started that I had a knife in my front pants pocket, which he finds and throws on the floor with the speedloader. He hand cuffs me, and I sit in the inside of the car, and he writes down my information, yadda yadda.

As far as I know, my friend went through the same process, albeit a bit more bewildered. They also found a small knife on him. They didn't give us any gruff for these, as they're completely withing our rights to carry. I'm glad.

So they do a little bit of radio back and forth and the cop guy talks to me and explains that he had to be as careful as possible, and that the orange tip isn't enough to signify it being a BB gun. They didn't take long to figure out that they were Airsoft guns, as my speedloader and the magazine let him know.

Apparently, my city has special rules for BB guns. It isn't illegal to own them, but it IS illegal to fire them on public or private property without expressed written consent from the person owning the land. Our county has no rules.

He told me that Ideally, we could have just gone down there and asked a few questions if we were unsure, as a lot of people have an interest in airsoft around our area, and this isn't the first time someone's been 'arrested' for it.

So they ask us if this was out first offense, and luckily, yes it was (I'm a good person!). They told is that we weren't under arrest and that we shouldn't take them out of the house again, or at least use them in anything that might be public property. They were cool about it, and really, we just got a tap on the shoulder for it, which I thank god for. I don't need anything on my record.

So Tl;dr, we were playing airsoft, and about seven cop cars showed up with their guns pointed at us. We were both very polite and and respectful, and I'd like to think we handled it well. They didn't arrest us, and were in fact, pretty impressed by the realism of our guns. The cop with the actual M4 picked up our airsoft M4 and was fooling around with it. Nearly broke the faux charging handle. They thought it was pretty cool, and I could tell they were pretty interested in how real they were.

We're not playing there again, or probably at all in this area. I really thank allah that I didn't get arrested, or worse... have my mother called :O

I think I actually will go down to the police station and ask them what their rules are, and what our options are if we're actually allowed to play in any capacity.

I also am incredibly thankful that I wasn't wearing my full gear. I was in an m65 with a boonie hat and a scarf and goggles, with blue jeans. If I would have been wearing full woodlands with a LBV, helmet and kabar, I would have been seriously arrested, or at least mocked.

Luckily, we concealed them. We were considering just walking really quick with them slung on our backs. We've done that before, without too much problem, but I'm glad we concealed them this time.

As a follow up, a nice police officer put the guns in his trunk and drove us to my house, and he returned them to us. The police aren't that bad, as long as you're a polite young white male with dashing good looks and a sense of common sense. I think I'll be a cop. It looks fun.

Hmm yeah, you should always have permission to be playing on private property, and quite frankly you should never play on public property. That's just plain dangerous.

You should try google searching and try to find some people who play airsoft in MD. I'm sure you can find some and then have a legitimate place to play. Plus, more players!

Yeah, we've looked, but it seems like almost everyone is ~~an hour a way, which really won't do. We keep looking though.

yeah, sometimes finding a field sucks, my closest is about an hour away, so the team carpools, we got pulled over once for speeding (among other things) we all had all of our gear on (one guy had a ghillie suit) and all of our guns were stacked in the back... afterwards, we laughed incredibly hard. We avoided tickets because the driver was a former police officer.

Great story SA. I guess everything worked out for the best eh?


One thing though, if you are going into the Navy, I wouldn't worry to much about your mum finding out you where playing with toy guns where you shouldn't of been playing .


I am glad you got some good level headed officers who responded to that call. I would hate to be watching the news and see that two young men where killed while airsofting because the police mistook them to be real weapons. You guys really dodged one there, please in the future find a better place.

We used to play on a painball course. It's about 10 acers of properity and it's divided into a woodland area, a splatter house and a speed ball area for compitition paintball teams. Although a few milsims I did where like litterly in the middle of nowhere. No one around for 50 to 100 clicks.

Yeah, really I was worried that my friend was going to come out from around the corner and accidentally point the gun at one of them and get shot. Thankfully he didn't.

The officers said it would've been a real PITA if they had shot us, which I thought was... uh.... nice

That was the first time a gun had been pointed at me in my whole life. It was odd. You feel utterly submissive. You don't do anything without being told. You don't say anything without being spoken to. Don't look at the barrel, because it'll spook you. Look at the person's eyes, and you should be fine.

Whew. What a strange experience. I can only imagine the feeling of being shot at by an unseen enemy. Serious respect to all our men and women serving. Volunteering to possibly put yourself in that situation in itself is amazing, and I'm proud to say that I'm going to be doing it.

Ambushed the CRAP out of my friends last weekend. Were were in a barn, it was night time. I had my revolver and my friend had out his rifle, and we were waiting fro a good time to shoot at the other team, who didn't know where we were. They start to come closer, and I was sure they figured out where we were, until I heard "Maybe they are in there."

One kid goes inside, and literally walks two feet away from me, shines his light towards the opposite wall, and leaves.

They go looking for us in other places, and as soon as they walked past the barn again, we opened fire from little slits and holes, and took almost all of them out.

When we told them we had been in there the entire time, they didn't believe us at first

It was us two against like 6 others, and we won. We'z frikkin ninjas.

Ah, the G&G F2000 is such a beast! I got to take it to my local airsoft/paintball field yesterday, and it was doing very well

...I just wish it was a little warmer outside

Yeah my gas guns are performing a bit poorly due to the cold. Co2 isn't affected as bad as green gas though, so my revolver still works fine.

I don't even bother bringing my gas pistol to the field after September - it's always too cold to use them.
