Well, whatever we're doing, we're doing it right. Of the fifty topics on the first page of this forum section, I count 43 about Infinity, and almost all of them active in the last week.

You can blame me a bit lol. I went a little nuts with the various hacker pages.

I'm starting work on my Army Profile now. I need a better camera and/or time to take pics!

I agree Wiki is far more useful when you have a thorough grounding in the game, but I really enjoyed getting the main book first of all and spending a week or so just sat down and reading through it from cover to cover.

My problem is I find it hard to look at a screen and actually read for prolonged periods of time - even eInk screens. So my choices boiled down to either print the PDFs and have a pretty crappy looking set of rules, or buy the fantastic full colour rulebooks.

Apparently the English rulebooks are OOP (again).

I know my local supplier can't keep them in stock. He may not get many (he's a one-man op) but they fly out when they come in. Even the battlefoam cases move.

Another thing to get more notice is to vote on Infinity figs in the Gallery. I've already voted for a few of Chemical's fantastic figs.

That's a great idea, I've had some of my Infinity stuff up for months and it hardly has any votes!

I spend a fair bit of time on the whole gallery actually, just looking through peoples stuff. There was one photo, out of focus, of an unpainted orks face (extreme close-up) that had more votes than most of my models!

I have made it my goal today to check out everyone's logs and vote on stuff!

My apologies I don't have any professional lookin' pics... or even snaps on terrain like Pacific, his stuff is way more photogenic than mine. Hust holding up a model and snapping a pic doesn't look to hot.

I'll get good snaps eventually, I promise.

Hey there better than my pics! I've gone through a search of Infinity and voted on those I could.

I went through the PM log list, then clicked each person in it, then went to thei galleries, found any Infinity stuff they had, and voted accordingly.

Took a good part of the morning. Thankfully work was slow.

Mission accomplished!

I'm back, feeling better, and catching up.

Question about a UK Infinity event:
Those who would be up for attending, what are the thoughts on having the event in Glasgow? Assuming i can find/organise cheap transport.
I do know from personal experience that you can comfortably travel to Glasgow from London, Newcastle, and other places i'm sure, for £8 occasionally.

What, by 12 hour coach?

Glasgow would be okay with me - but then I'm just south of Edinburgh. Until 30th June, and then London or Glasgow won't matter cos I'll be back in Perth - Australia.

I'm running out of available days before then anyway...

Haha, no a few hours by train. I should have mentioned that.

Off to Australia so soon? How long will you be there for?

He'll be there forever
It's very inconsiderate of him!

Personally I'd prefer somewhere more central for an Infinity meet-up, but could possibly make it to Glasgow for a weekend later in the year. Maelstrom's gaming center would be good as they have boards and terrain already available.

Australia?

**** that.

I just watched a video of a spider eating a snake over there.

We should nuke that terrible island before any of the giant highly poisonous monsters escape and inhabit the rest of the world.

£8 by train? When? In the 1960s?
Even with railcards and being very flexible about when I travelled, I can't convince the costs to be less than several times than that (especially having to go both ways).
In practical terms, if I wanted to get to Glasgow, a coach would actually be a better bet for me. It's a lot cheaper, and takes long enough I might actually be able to get some sleep on an overnight trip.

However, Glasgow isn't the most practical place for a southerner like me. (Mind you, I've never been to Scotland, so it could be an opportunity). Maelstrom would be a happier bet for me, as I'm used to making trips to the Midlands.

I could go for Glasgow if it was a full weekend event, but I think that somewhere central is the best bet if you want to maximise attendance.

Basically it shouldn't be much further north than Manchester, much further south than Birmingham, much further east than Derby, and much further west than Telford or Chester, if you want it to be reasonably accessible (less than 2 hours for most of the country, less than 3 hours from London or Scotland).

@Casey's Law: See MarcoSkoll's comment for why I thought you were suggesting coach As endtransmission noted - I'll be back in Oz indefinitely - well, until funds + Da Boss wrench me to a new location - but I will be resisting that!

@Chemical Cutthroat: I only worry that I have been softened by my brief time in the United Kingdom. Still, fighting off poisonous monsters is like riding a bike right? You never really forget...

@MarcoSkoll: I've never managed to sleep on a coach unless thoroughly exhausted. 2 previous nights on a coach just about did it

Thanks for the quick feedback guys and damn you, Arakasi for going to stay in such a dangerous place!

I took the train from Glasgow to Newcastle last year for £8 each way, the London tickets were the same but we took too long to organise it and they sold out. It's an offer that pops up occasionally, i'll get my friend to give me some more info on how often it comes up.

Maelstrom does make more sense though so i'll look into that side of things some more.

While I could possibly make it up to the frozen wastes of Glasgow, it is a bit of a treck, even just from the midlands. The train links from what I know are terrible - especially if you are on the cheap limited travel tickets - a missed connection when one of your trains is invariably late can cost you hundreds in rail ticket charges.

Somewhere central is much better for people all over the country.

On this note, is there actually anywhere in the UK (I direct this at those actually in the UK) the things can still be found in stock? I've got a mate who's trying to find the main rulebook, but all the webstores we normally use seem to be out of stock and have been for sometime.

And if not, when will they be?

I think there are stock shortages everywhere at the moment - I wanted to get some stuff from the Maelstrom 25% off sale, literally every starter pack was out of stock as well as quite a few of the blisters.

Wayland Games were showing the main rulebook as in stock a couple of days ago, I think now they just have the 'Human Sphere' one: http://www.waylandgames.co.uk/infinity/cat_314.html

Dark Sphere have a note saying the Human Sphere book is out of print and will have a print run mid-September. Glad I already got mine now

They don't seem to have stock of anything else either with most of them saying they will have to order them in (2-3 days).

That's a really quick sell-through on the Human Sphere book, I think -- I'm sure it was OOP for a while a year or so back too, when I first tried getting a copy.

Yet another reason to regret my not making it to Salute yesterday. Could have bought one for him there.
