As a guard player, I approve of this message. You seem to be short a manticore though .

The top side of the wings seem to glisten. Is that the photography, or the painting?

Actually, I don't. That's not a cop-out... this is for my Halloween-themed demon army so I'm trying to de-emphasize the Khornate aspects of it. I originally thought about grinding them out completely, then I came to my senses.

That's the paint actually. Wings are black, then given several super-dry brush rubs with several shades of brass and bronze resulting in the sheen you see in the pics.

What am working on you ask? Well, while my son was cleaning the studio/gaming room... he found a lost treasure from Cam's workshop. A custom build ork tower from one of the Dawn of War expansion missions! So, what better way to spend my time than to paint it?!

This is just the spray-can stage. From here it gets a black wash, then sponged on rust and choice exposed metal detailing. Then I'll do some nice detailing on the banners, megaphones and Bad Moon icon.

Is that masking tape... or cheese?!

It's must be cheese sliced off the bad moon. Everyone knows moons are made of cheese. Wallace and Grommit proved it.

Looks like a great fun project.

Can't say that I every wanted to be mooned by Cam, but I am Jealous none the less.

As well as you should be friend Theo! Now-a-days Cam's spending his time making furniture (yech)... I think I had the best of the deal!

More progress on Cam's tower. Added a little touch of my own replacing the big banner with an orky skull snagged from a stompa kit. This brings the tower a little closer to the Waaagh! towers in DOW 3. Never fear though... I have a ton of ork buildings that can use that extra banner... or I may make a stompa banner out of it.

Commonly referred to as Gov'ment Cheese, it is an artificial substance that resembles (Masks as) cheese but has the same nutritional value as the plastic packaging the slices come in. It has many uses, mostly to add highlight to flavorful food, but is probably better suited to blocking off areas one does not wish to paint.

Fantastic work on that rust, btw.
