1.) Guess we will see the first painting guide using the new colours. Guess these models are painted with those.
2.) Weird that Volkmar is not included in the wizard-mobile kit, as he uses the same wagon with only minor changes.

Maybe the chassis + horses is one sprue, with the War Altar as one topping sprue, and the laser/planetarium as another.

The griffon is seriously disapointing. Guess it is time to get one of the Blood Island ones and convert.

The Demi-griffs need to be seen more closely, but I do not think that I need them. Plastic characters... maybe.

As for what they could produce without resorting to monsters and ever bigger weird items, why not more troop types?

E.G. Reiksguard box. Horse archers. Kislev winged knights. Resculpted knights. Resculpted broom pushers. Halfling regiment. Pike regiment. Regional regiments.

The Empire in particular has a ton of previous units that could have made a return, and the same approach could work for other armies as well.

Wow, the Gryphon head looks tiny. And I have this sneaking feeling that it'll probably work out cheaper to buy 3 island of blood gryphons for the same price as a trio of demigryphs.

Even the ridiculous over the top gigantic new Deathclaw.

And the two-headed version?!?

Wow!

Over the top?

Yes.

Awesome?

Hell yes!

Now I can only wonder about the costs to get all of this new stuff...

I'm in agreement with you and Major Tom, etc. These new WHFB BIG HONKIN' MONSTER kits have me seriously considering buying them for, well, I don't know what purpose, but they are so damn cool. (The Storm of Magic ones being a bit disappointing though).

Actually, come to think of it, I DID buy a NecroWar-sphynx just because it was so awesome, and I figured I could use some of the bits in my Necrons army (so the purchase was justified as being for my "Main" army )

Those Demigriffs are sexy as hell. I really like the griffon, it's not dynamic but it looks pretty cool.

gotta say i think they are all pretty awesome! I like the War Altar, Celestial Hurricanium, and Luminark of Hysh but i kinda dislike them...I like the Demgriffs, and Griffin maybe they could have done a better job with them but i still like them a lot, I think the characters all look good as well

I'm very torn about it.

I really like all the weird contraptions and monsters, but I'm afraid we're going to be trying to find space on the table for scenery if this trend of monsters and warmachines continues...

Until the next edition I suppose, when they will make monsters and war machines a terrible investment.

Celestial Hurricanium is great. Really love the steroid gryphon as well. I'm thinking the two headed version will be useful for 40k imperium players in some way.

The Hurricanium and Luminark are going to be a jackpot of bits for scenery, I think. I mean, a whirlygig solar system? A giant focusing lens?

Can we say "arcane relics"?

I like a nice looking table in terms of scenery, but luckily WFB doesn't 'need' it like 40K does...

Always a possibility, but these models are so nice, it wouldn't sting nearly as much, especially if you get them now, paint them quickly and get a lot of years of use out of them!

Jaw dropped at sight of the Hurricanum.

Absolutely brilliant, the rest I am not so concerned about but that model certainly has me wishing I had the cash for it.

The War Altar is a massive improvement and I must commend the sculptor. Now it's time to hope that these models are useful in the new army book (which I must say has an awesome cover, best of the hard covers yet, so much more characters than the others).

True enough Alph, I do wish the ogre mercs unit was back (for that 'in the future' Marienburg army...) and I want them to redo the knightly orders properly. They were so strong for flavouring the armies to different provinces.

I am glad for the lack of love for the knights. I felt with the Templar master and everything we were to akin to Brets

It is definitely a disappointment that the Knights didn't get re-done...

The old metal knights (Panther and Blazing Sun) are really nice in terms of flavor, but are they even available anymore?

The knightly orders have been part of the Empire army for about 20 years. The Panthers, White Wolves and Reiksguard have been around for ages and they can really define an army as Middenheim (white wolves) or Altdorf (reiksguard) for example.

No, but the Blazing Sun conversion kits ARE.

I know but I do not think they should be core and a centerpoint. Unless maybe you take a master. I dunno.... I just dislike calvary

By Sigmar, those Griffons make the old one look tiny!

Cant decide if thats a good thing or a bad thing

Hmm also I must admit the Demigriffs arent what I imagined. The FW stuff confused me I suppose

Wacky chariots are wacky! A Treasure trove for those making Empire Terrain (aka the only terrain made by GW )

Still I think the models are well within the Empire look, even if they look kinda funky.

It IS however a tad odd there are very little rumors/solid rumors on rules.

Fortunately our need for new knights has a saviour in the very same Perrys that sculpted the originals. Not GW, so cheaper [12 for £18] and more realistic.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

I can't work out why Volkmar the Grim would be a separate kit.

Anyway, I like the little solar system bit, but otherwise those wagons are just far too busy for my tastes. I don't like the Demi Griffons at all, and 'Roid-Claw doesn't do it for me. The Witch Hunter doesn't look anything like a Witch Hunter, and the single frame plastics don't do anything for me.

I'd like to get the solar system bit and the guys from the wagon, but that's about it.

And as such... probably look really small and weedly when compared to GWs versions?

Very nice.

Saving a few bucks to loot the hell out of that altar kit for an epic war shrine, not to mention the vast amount of bits.

I'm definitely interested to see what the Witch Hunter has in store for enemy armies.

Yup. Even your average (possibly inbreed) bretonnian peasant drinks a galleon of protein shake and takes steroids in warhammer

Still, Perry does give you the option to field an inexpensive Empire ish looking army if you want to go that route

To spite me, clearly. Limited edition skull-shaped rocks, yet another SM Dreadnought and now a one-in-the-entire-setting war machine each get their own plastic sprues, but a replacement for a 15 year old metal HQ/Elite/Troops/Fast Attack/Heavy Support set? Fat chance!

Love it all.
The little old school touches like the angry goblin face on the demi-gryph knight's barding? Delightful!

Can't see myself ever building a FB army so instead of my money I will give GW a terse nod of approval.

$29 for a crappy resin Grandmaster model with the same old crappy horse? I'm buying the metal ones off ebay asap.

They're on the GW site still for $15; but I haven't tried to order them so I can't attest if you can get them there or not.
