Don't post in this thread if you are going to buy Spulk.

I will not pay one hundred bucks
This, like many prices, sucks.
I would not buy it for ten dollars less.
For seventy five bucks? Probably yes.

Not this. Not here.
Not for this cost.
Unfort'nately for me,
this product's lost.

As posted in the poll thread...:

(1) Don't play blood angels? Check
(2) Don't play tyranids? Check
(3) Have played and not liked previous versions of game? Check

Nope, don't see why I should buy it.

As much as I do like the new minis included in the box set I cannot justify spending that much on something I'll never play. And I won't splash out the cash now simply because it may or may not be a limited run.

Armies:
(CSM/HH) - Iron Warriors; Death Guard; World Eaters; Night Lords
IG - Vestfalian Expeditionary
Force (Solar Auxilia - HH)
SM - Blades of Inaros (Homebrew)
DE - Kabal of Ouroboros

1) cant accept the way it was "revealed" to me/us
2) no interest in pre-order => pre pay just from some pics on a website.
3) may not find enough interest in a card board game.
4) didnt play its predecessors, so i am free of nostalgia and do not feel the need to turn back time.
5) may save for new SW sprues instead of limited usable limited releases...

$165 For a board game that I will hardly ever play, and that anyone else will hardly ever play, it a touch too much, i'd rather wait til wolves come out and buy some funky new models.

Also I have never played the game, i have a general idea of the rules and will probably play a few games in store just to see how it goes but otherwise, i wont be getting a copy.

Not buying for several reasons:

1. I collect neither SM or 'Nids.
2. It costs far too much money for what it is!
3. Everyone is praising how amazing the models within said game are, but I fail to see the uniqueness in them when so many people with have models in the same poses.
4. Money could be better spent on IG
5. I'd probably not play the game.

I'm on the fence. My brother plays Space Marines so he could use the Terminators and I wanted to start up a Nid force; so this boxset looks pretty good in that respect. Not to mention there are some cool pieces that could be used for 40k objectives like that dead SM on the throne.

Whats holding me back? Even splitting the cost, its still a lot of cash. I'm going to wait and see if stores like thewarstore and bitkingdom will offer discounts; then it'd be around $70-80 or so without shipping.

However I only play 40k so having another game wouldn't be bad. I'll probably end up buying this game if a discount will be available but as it stands right now I'm not preordering it.

while I've played and enjoyed previous versions of the game I don't plan on picking this up, even though I have a Blood Angel army. I can't say that I'm disappointed that it's Space Hulk, but it might have been nice if it had been something else. There's no way anything they did was going to live up to the rampant speculation.

I was on the edge with this. I loved the original, I really did, but I could see such potential in the game in its original state!

I was going to buy it, lured by the "nostalgia" and the fact that its a limited edition.....but it really pushes my buttons that GW hasn't done anything new with the game!

I was hoping they would set the Space Hulk as a venue for battles between a much more open choiced army, SM vs CSM, or IG vs Eldar etc etc.....but this is just a re-hash of the SM vs Genestealers....boring! I'm sure I could substitute Blood Angels for another chapter, but I'm sick of doing GW's job for them, and having to pay for the privilege!

As it stands, I figure I could do this game myself, using standard WH40K rules, and making my own board sections (more detailed, and more challenging) not to mention, being able to play against and field any army I wish!

I'm gonna pass on this, Infinity have just released more miniatures, and it looks like a new book is on the way!!! GW can kiss my ass if they think they're getting more money out of me!

GW never fails to disappoint. I could put aside the fact that they thought they could pawn this off as "news." In fact, I wish they announced this at GD Germany, as I'm sure some guy in the audience would have shouted something to the effect of "The word NEWS implies that it's something NEW. You know, something we didn't ALREADY KNOW!?"

But what pisses me off is the price tag. Really? They are easily making 70+ USD in profit for every unit they sell...

I am not interested. The price puts me off for starters, that and the let down after it was hyped so much. they said something unique, this isnt and as a result is a bit of a let down to be honest. I might have been more easily sold if they were honest about it.

I also dont like how the minis are displayed. I think the painting quality thrshold will be way up - that is to say if you dont put the effort in for a prom paint job they will look crap because of the overdetail.
Some of the minis are nice but they are oddly based. I would rather have seen the minitures based for 40K, its a waste of an opportunity to have terminator commanders and broodlords in plastic.

I might be looking to bitz order some of the items from GW is they become available, but I doubt it.

I can play Zombies!! (a game I already own which is a million times more fun than Space Hulk, and supports multiple players) and use the $130 to either take my girlfriend out for dinner a few times or make my Death Guard army even bigger.

... okay, so I'm probably going to make my Death Guard bigger

Nope. Just for the fact that they couldn't be arsed to make plastic tiles. No need for corridors, just tiles with some texture to them that could be painted up. Having seen the card tiles, I believe there was less of a reason for them not to produce plastic tiles. I mean look at them, what's the total square footage involved here, 2ft? You're telling me that they can produce a 6 x 4 deep board for £140, but not the tiles for SH? Give me a break.

Do like the Nid poses though, but not enough to pay £60 for them.

Can't you just get the space hulk rules, build some modular cooridors/rooms/doors and just pickup a few sprues of genestealers and termies and be done with it? If you allready have termies and or genies you save a bundle.

The only reason I can see in buying this is if you really wanted those new models, but that's it.

Hey Orlanth , remember the guy that goes crazy because a product is not painted as nicely as its displayed on websites?

I would like to see his face now , not only are these not painted , they are advertised as such lovely paint jobs.
To make all the matter worse for that poor guy , this is a board game , even less reason to be repainted compared to 40k hobby counter part.

Hi all.
Did I like the original game.YES
Would I have bought the new game if it was a 'standard release' and priced at £40-£50 .YES

However as GW PLC assume its customers are willing to pay twice the amount for a 'limited release' , they insulted my intellegence, so they can stick it!

Ill just play the original at my friends house.

I'm sorry, but do you think GW is some kind of charity organisation? Do you think they donate to the starving children in Africa or something? What the hell is wrong with companies making a profit??? News flash, its what companies do, its why they are a company and not a charity organisation!

Even if they make the units for $1 and sell it to you for $100, do you think a company (of any type) will "limit" the amount of profit they make in order to please the customer? Seriously, theres plenty of reasons to be pissed at GW, but the fact that they make a profit is a vary naive reason to be angry.....
