Until Kharn gets him with his axe, as stated above.
Alright Psychers in general can be made more for support than CC, but they can all be made into "close quarters" units. Anyway, not to thread jack, but who'd win: Eldrad or Ahriman? In CC, it's Ahriman no contest (Warptime + Forceweapon = you win), but in a caster slug fest?

I'd say Khorne Berzerkers are some the the most shockingly effective troops out there. I run a squad of 10 and they ALWAYS kill above and beyond their points value. 40 Str 5 attacks on the charge at I5, not counting my champion, with 5 Str 9 power fist attacks.
Most people aren't scared enough by them, they want to kill my raptors or my vehicles. Ok, fair enough. Last game I played vs. SM, the berzerkers charged 10 marines in cover, tore them to pieces, caving in my opponent's left flank.
Game before, they destroyed a whole unit of fire warriors (easy task) along with 3 Broadsides and a Devilfish APC.
Plus, you can roll right up to the enemy with a Land Raider. Assault ramp=win

Zerkers are mean, however I think you're playing the PF champion a bit wrong. He doesn't get the extra attack for CC and bolt pistol since he has a power fist. So he'd only have 4 attacks on a charge, which is still pretty crazy.

I would have to say either Sluga boyz in masse, or 15 burna boyz in a battlewagon doing that nasty little trick.
220 points for 29 boyz and 1 nob w/ pk and bp.
315 for the burnas and BW
really cheap and very effective.

I'm not sure where it's written, but it's said at my store that it says somewhere in the rules that powerfists can't confer an extra attack for having two close combat weapons because they are too cumbersome to wield alongside a pistol or something like that

Page 42 of the main Rulebook, under the heading "A normal and a special weapon" says that Power fists, thunder hammers, and lightning claws only get the +1 attack in CC if taken as a pair.

EXCUSE ME PEOPLE!
Come on, the Emperator class titan pretty much devestates anything. the thing is ungodly broken to the point that if you go against it, you should just give up.
Though... there is but one weakness this monster of godliness has, it is...
.... is that you have to build this piece of !@%# by yourself because GW nor Forge World will ever create this thing for you. Comparitivly, it should not even be able to fit on the board. You might as well just make the legs for this SOB.

Eldrad has unmatched versatility, with access to every Eldar psychic power and the ability to use three psychic powers per round. Abaddon in contrast is virtually unstoppable in an assault. Regardless of whatever he fights, he will kill it and kill it easily.
Grey Knight Grand Master instantly kills Abaddon. In fact, you can take a Grand Master with a Sacred Incense for 155 points, and you have a fairly good chance of killing Abaddon. Sure, the GM will die in the process, but the Grand Master's job is to kill ICs. And once he kills the big bad one, there's not much to worry about.

Battle sisters squads ... come on cheap power armour +BS4 and if you spend a faith point then any guns they fire, on wound roll of 6, are AP 1 (also works in close combat to give them a power weapon) ... best of all you can have 20 in one squad

guess I missed that one as I haven't used power fists too extensively until now. thanks for straightening me out on this.

Calgar's awesome, but he isn't broken. In his Armor of Antilochus (the only way to buy him now), he's worth every point BUT,
I like to joke with my gaming group by putting him next to a Land Raider Redeemer w/ EA and MM and saying, "Look! Equal points models!"

Ork Boys are the best bang for the buck. But overpowered? I don't think so.
For the points I think Oblits are under costed. Just about every weapon you can have with two wounds and a 2+/5++ for 75 points?
What Vulkan can do is pretty crazy for his points. Plus he himself is a tank.

I think the hive tyrant should be in there. T6 with 4 wounds that immune to instant death is devastating for the points. You could arm him to the teeth for 155 and he can do basically anything. He can eat terminators for breakfast, take down light tanks in either CC or with venom cannons, and make him a dakka tyrant and he'll take out any infantry just through sheer volume of fire.
But ork boyz are hard to beat when it comes to value.

For special characters - Fateweaver. Rerolling all of the failed saves of all friendly nearby units is immensely valuable.
For a unit - a 3 model unit of Flamers of Tzeentch. Deepstrike next to a squad, 3 flame templates that wound on 4+ regardless of toughness, allow no armor, cover, or FNP, glance vehicles on a 4+. Hard to top that for 105 pts.
