He was painted by a friend of mine when he was 6, I think thats like 10 layers of gold enamel. The cat face on the knee and eyepatch/hair lines are the selling points for me.

Black background images? That's very unique! How were those done for people who took them, love the airbrush and the fantastic montage shots too by the way well done!

Lovin the ork warboss and nurglenaughts! Will vote and comment in a sec

Black backgrounds are great in that the don't leave you with the " Wait, this is not how it looks in real life" syndrome that white can cause. My digi cam washes colours or alters them significantly with a white backdrop, and I don't like having to tweak images to make them look like the real deal. Black avoids this for me completely.

The background is a piece of black Velvet. Velvet is great as it does not reflect light whatsoever, so you can have a really nice lamp setup for your light source without ruining the deep blackness of the velvet.

Even black models can be shot on it as they don't absorb the light the way the velvet does, so are rarely muted by it /ends thread hyjack

Wow more good stuff today, thanks everyone, I have enjoyed seeing things people have shared, I have never seen any of this before! Great stuff! I have liked revisiting this thread this week!

EVER since the chaos possesed marine kit came out I have wanted to see someon do a raptor unit with the demonic wings! That is just fantastic! I really like it and I figured it was doable but I have never seen even one completed example since the kit came out (well of a whole squad) awesome!

That Ultramarine army is huge, holy cow.

Evolvingeye, I like those angry thermal terminators, the lava effect is imposing, not very standard a paint job, in a great way.

EDIT: Heres an old custom captain of mine, a very simple equiped model with a bit of flash:

@ Gitsplitta,

those are Bazonkers! and display not only a fine ability to paint but a great taste for composition and photography skills as well! Excellent, I like the 4 barrel dread best, but wow!

@ Matrim,

I always wondered why power armored men didnt ALL have integrated weapons? Shouldn't they, really? That piece captures that, well thematically for me anyway, I'd like to see a more completed image of it?
