And they won't be useful for it either, due to Raging Heroes' style.

Raging heroes is releasing space nuns directly for sisters of battle replacements. If you look at all their stuff...its all stand in for some type of GW miniature be it dark elves, eldar, deamonettes, or IG. They even have a "sci fi " orc boss that's could be used for...a...sci fi.ork boss......

I'm sure there style will be quite useful to run some sexy-esque SOB

I think the whole "sexy-esque" thing is what Melissa is referring to when she says "Raging Heroes' style..."

And to be honest I agree. Sisters of Battle have no place being sexy. There's no time for makeup with so many heretics to burn!

Yes.

Or to put it in a more pithy (and amusing) statement...

They made StarGrunt (sci-fi skirmish at the platoon/company level) and Dirtside 2 (6mm sci-fi) rules that are widely known among folks outside the GW circle.

They are a garage scale operation that has done quite well esp. recently in the 15mm sci-fi market.

The owner reportedly is doing well enough that the operation of making and selling what people can see clearly is more than enough to occupy his time.

You missed out Full Thrust. Wonderful game.... and some pretty nice miniatures.

Ramshackle Games' Rhebok APC, from their Brothers of Iron Kickstarter, has recently become my model of choice for my Repressors. It doesn't appear to be on the Ramshackle Games website yet, but I ordered five through the kickstarter and they arrived yesterday, so I suspect that once he's done doling out the goodies to those who pledged, the Rhebok will make it to the webstore. I haven't held it side to side to a rhino, but it's about the right size- perhaps a little bit wider? The only issue (other than the fact that it's a 3rd party model for Forgeworld rules) is that, on the Rhebok, the heavy flamer is mounted in the cupola, and the stormbolter is mounted on the hull, whereas the rules call for a cupola mounted stormbolter and a pintle mounted heavy flamer.

And, for convenience's sake, the Forgeworld Repressor rules, current as of October 2013.

Statuesque miniatures who produce some excellent female minis in true-scale has just started to produce some of their female heads in heroic scale

these are 3D prints prior to cleanup and casting, the final product will shink about 10%

but I though they might appeal to sisters players looking to convert

I have the longer version of the Rhebok and will use it as a Repressor in my SoB army. It's a lovely model. Casting is not perfect, but the size, options and detail make up, in my opinion for some warping and bubbles. Ramshackle is a one man company so certain things need to be accepted.

Like this Statuesque heads. Might buy a sprue or two for my Raging Heroes minis (in 2036...)

Those are amazingly nice from Statuesque. Thanks for pointing those out.

True. FT is an excellent game. I only failed to mention it because it seemed like we were talking land warfare rules

Reaper makes quite a few female paladins and clerics in full armor who, with a bolter and backpack could do the job. Especially if you're willing to leave on the shields and call it part of the 3+ save and call their swords CC weapons. Slap a bolter on the back somewhere and you're good.

So far it's the best option I've seen outside of kit bashes using Dark Elfs or sculpting.

They won't look like GW Sisters of Battle but they will fill the role of fully armored female knights.

And some modern figures (but a really limited collection)

Darn. Now I'm tempted to try!

If I could find a source for nice quality women heads, I would be converting the stock dreamforge troopers into Sisters of battle. They're a little slimmer than regular guardsmen and with a little work they would look the part quite well.

Yeah, that artstyle does not reflect anything similar to what makes the Sisters of Battle... well, the Sisters of Battle, at least in my view. Second one is heavily sexualized, too (including hardened nipples...). Looks more like an anime nun than a Sororitas, whom is a soldier in power armor. The first one is at least respectable...

With a bit of work, the paladins could work though.

Y'know I've been doing fantasy, comics and sci-fi so long that I figure any woman wearing more clothes than Red Sonya isn't being 'sexualized'. Funny how standards shift. But a lot of what you point out on the 2nd battle nun is the paint job and not the sculpt.

And I realize I'm about to go tap dancing in a minefield here but, you do realize the SoBs are heavily sexualized too?

Not in the bare flesh sense but they're basically wearing fetish garb. Corsets, skull bras, high heels. It's basically a road map of John Blanche's fetishes.

Nothing about them really says nuns or pragmatic warriors.

I agree with K_K that the nips are a product of the paintjob as I can't see anything like that on the unpainted model on Reaper's website...

The backside however...

A sentiment I have expressed as well.

Still better than that model.

But Reaper has something like 40 pages of female models, let's not get caught up on one.

While Reaper makes great models, a bolter would be incredibly large on them, as they're not quite the same heroic scale GW uses.

... which would be incredibly fluffy, since Sisters don't use Space Marine issue Bolters. The Bolters Marines use are huge. Remember, Sisters are basically ordinary humans in ordinary human power armour. Sisters and ordinary humans use Bolters made for human use, though in 40k statwise there's no difference. The problem would be finding a replacement for the Bolter, but there's plenty around. I love Anvil Industries carbines for alternates.

That is what I'm considering, maybe those statuesque heads posted earlier will work (either heroic or true scale). Now to wait for someone to actually try that and figure out if it works or not before I spend money

Someone did just that using the Kriegsmarine models from Dreamforge and Statuesque heads.

Individually those are some handsome women, but I think that once you plunk them down on the table, they'd be acceptable as female IG. Not quite SoB yet. Lack of iconography.

But there is nothing stopping you throwing a bleeding heart on their backpack, a fleur-de-lis on their shoulder, stuff like that, and they'll look more sister-y. Dammit, the more I think about it the more I want to do it.

edit: edited fleur-de-lis to be correct, my laziness annoyed me.
