I concur, the yellow on the shields added that much needed contrast-colour and the freehand painting you are up to is very nice indeed. keep up the good work.

Love the way this armys turning out! Great model, and freehand work, tho i have to agree with Capitansolstice in the fact that the eye bionics would break up the colours more.

Awesome stuff - that's a major improvement, I would perhaps agree with HAZZER - a final highlight may do the trick, maybe just on the face. That said he looks great as is.

I have highlighted him quite a bit but it isn't up to white and it does look quite flat in the photo because the flash seems to take that detail away.

Thanks Gits, The yellow looks nicer in the flesh and the black is completely black, there seems to be a bit of flash reflection in the photo. I have actually got a light tent but not enough angle poise lamps to use it, maybe I should go out and buy some cheap ones it might really improve the quality of the photos.

Thanks Tortured-Robot, I'll highlight a bit more but I still want him to fit in with the rest of the army and they haven't been highlighted to white. (well except for the Terminator Chaplain but he is a special character!)

I'm still fiddling with my new light tent and lamps. Finally got the white balance and spot light metering figured out, but the laps tend to overwhelm the figure a bit still so I have some of the same issues you do. Once I get it sorted, if I think I've got any useful insights I'll let you know.

You need to add [ url] and [/url ] in front and behind it (I added the spaces in the URL commands or it'd try and find the URL "and".

There's a button for that above your editing box.

Yeah, that's a neat trick... and I was exactly where you are a year or so ago. You do it like this (and forgive the spaces again)

Change [url] to [url=

Then add the URL of the blog page you want to link to. [url=http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/328895.page

Then add the second bracket back in. [url=http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/328895.page]

Then add whatever text you want your link to appear as. [url=http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/328895.page]Reaper Man's blog

Then add the final URL tag, which gives you your completed link. Reaper Man's blog

Ok hopefully the final bit of work on the Assault Cannon Terminator, I have coloured the cables by the bionic eye to add a bit more colour, I have also added a campaign scroll to his leg which looked a bit bare. I'm not 100% about the scroll what do you guys think, I'm tempted to paint over it and put something else there.

Ok a question for you guys, I'm just starting the pre-heresy Death Guard project (link soon) some of the bases I have available have Genestealer heads on them. Now I seem to remember that the Tyranids did not arrive until after the Horus Heresy so should I use them for the Death Guard? Does it matter? Should I be a purist and not use them?
Opinions please.

Is ther bases with out the heads? Or could you as the mantcher to produce a set without heads? Or I would file them off.

The bases just have a head in the rubble, I could just use them for another project so they won't be wasted and it is easy to make bases!

The Assault Cannon Terminator turned out great - really looks good, im glad you kept at it!

I like the scroll - its a nice idea, the writting seems a little messy prehaps, the letters are a bit too thick.

New blog started today! Here is the link to the Pre Heresy Death Guard. For those of you who read this blog a lot of the photos are old ones collated into some semblance of order with a few bits that I've been up to today. Pop in and have a look, should be an exciting project!

So broke out the light tenet today to see if it improved any of my pictures, not entirely convinced with the results! Lol!

Thanks! So many more to go though, I really thought I would have some vehicles done by now! Working on an assault squad at the moment.

Did a little more work on the 1st Assault Squad today, just starting the grey bits on them and getting a bit frustrated with the results.



Some work on the banner bearer too, a bit of yellow and grey and the base is pretty much done.

Managed to snatch half an hour tonight so worked on the grey sections on one of the assault squad.
