Thanks Hazzer, Some more updates inbound;

That marine has ad more work!

The Serg has had some more work;

The rest of the squad;

The squad all together;

Well I need a bit of advice, I was wondering what colour to paint one of the marines tabard/cloth thingy. The rest of the army has them in white but maybe it should be a bit different for this squad. One of the guys has a face as a knee pad, I was wondering whether to do it brass with verdigris or shiny god or silver? The other big question is what to do with the chain swords? What colour should I make them.

I intend to do a non metallic metal sword on the sergeant.

On a different topic, you know how I sometimes post some pics that aren't related to the chapter, I photographed my Bunny Girl Blood Bowl Team. Hope you like them, if you do give them a vote in the gallery.

Thanks man! Red is just a light coat of scab red over chaos black.

Keep the encouragement coming!

So did you guys like the Bunny Girls? I can't believe no one has commented!
I have just received two really cool female commissar models in the post from two different companies and I'm wanting to paint them soon, the problem is it is giving me some motivation for my huge Guard (Cadian) project that has been on hold while I do marines. Do you think starting a third blog with the Guard might be spreading myself a little thin? Should I wait until this project is concluded or at least on a pause before returning to it? Anyway here are some photos of the girls in question;

First up we have Ivanka Khrganova from Raging Heroes, I saw her in the gallery this month and just had to order her!

Next Viktoria Skivlana from War Forge, again spotted in the gallery and bought in my greed for more models! She comes in resin and is very finely detailed!

Well better try and paint some more of the Emperor's Wings so I can update next time on topic!

You know... you could paint that right leg... put it by itself on a display base and probably walk away with a "win" in most painting competitions...

Are we all sex starved nerds?

Well moving on... I have done a bit more work on the Assault Serg today and so here are some pics;

I decided to free hand another honour laurel on his shoulder pad, here I have outlined it in Chaos Black.

Then fill in the colour very carefully!

Then I did NMM on the relic blade

Finally a bit more detail like gems and the plasma pistol.

So nearly finished with him!

Some of us are married... that's effectively the same thing.

I absolutely love the job you did on the relic blade Reaper. All those little brush strokes combine into a really great over-all effect... and it's different from the standard light/dark blends. Quite nice work mate... very solid.

Thanks Hazzer. Which is your favourite bunny girl? I like the thrower with the ball hiked in at her groin! And the nurse/apothecary is cool. Does that mean you would prefer a Guard blog to the two marine ones I am currently running?

Gits, sorry forgot to respond to your comment on the relic blade, I'm not 100% on it yet might play a bit more with it. My first attempt was on a skaven model and it came out better I thought. Here's a pic let me know what you think as a comparison.

Well, the marine's sword looks more like metal, the skaven's sword looks more like glass. Both are very cool to my eye.

What were you going for?

Well a reflective metal that has cut through a few things but well kept. I don't really want highly polished or mirrored surface. It has grown on me after a day.

Ok it's a bit of a cheet but it is very effective. I have used Alclad 2 chrome effect lacquer, you have to apply it over a gloss black they also sell with the airbrush, I haven't applied the last coat of Aqua Gloss yet which will give it the full chrome effect. the website is http://alclad2.com/ and you can find retailers in your area on their website, some really great metal effects to be found here.

Had a look through all this and have to say i'm really impressed, I think the thing that really stands out for me is your lenses, they are always perfect. definitely going to try and 'emulate' a little. Lovely freehand too! and the necrons look great, cheat or not Personally if it looks better than the same effect that has taken hours, who's really winning? ....You...that is who.

Thanks for all your support on my thread btw, good to know the dakka community is so helpful.

OH-I Wanna get out of here

For those in the states who want some chrome they can airbrush on, I've used Mirrachrome from Alsa before on some Transformers to great effect.
http://www.alsacorp.com/products/mirrachrome/mirra_price.htm

I've had the same idea with crons, but the stuff is just so expensive to use. Glad to see someone doing it though!

Just noticed yours has US vendors as well. Just take my link as a second option then
