I did a little search and found nothing that could warrant an Invocation of Nehek, so i'm just going to post anew.

I've gone for UK because I want to know who people are talking about in their replies, anyone else can post up a thread for US etc. comedians if they want.

I personally don't know who my favourite is. It's a 4-way tie between Lee Evans, Michael McIntyre, Jason Manford and Jimmy Carr. Lee and Michael are a bit more focussed on overall entertainment rather than jokes alone, so miming stuff etc. Jason was born in my home town and I can relate to a lot of his jokes about the area, plus one stand-up gig he did had me in complete stitches. Jimmy gets me with a darker humour and wittier lines, and I applaud his complete lack of adherence to the social norm when it comes to jokes, touching on subjects other comedians would deem far too risky, and yet pulling it off.

So what about Dakka?

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Evans I'll give you. The other three are about as funny as a baby with cancer.

For best comedian, has to be Bill Bailey. And soon....me....ahahahahahhahhahaha! I intend to take the comedic world by storm, and in particular Jimmy 'Sarcasm is a proper form of wit honest' Carr's head shall be mounted on a pole.

Really? Can't say I ever found Jim Davidson to be anything other than annoying. Same with Roy 'Chubby' Brown.

My vote would go to Bill Bailey or Frankie Boyle. Some of Al Murray's early Pub Landlord stuff was good before it became a parody of itself.

Flanders and Swann. The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band.

Bill Bailey is probably the most consitently funny comedian I've seen - some, like Franky Boyle are great on Mock the Week, but doing his own shows is actually really horrible to watch without other people to lighten the mood. However, Bill seems like a nice chap in pretty much everything I have seen him in.

I'd have to say Eddie Izzard, but Craig Ferguson (who was actually scottish, i know.. but he is also now an American citizen) are my faves from that portion of the world.

Vic and Bob are good obviously, but i feel people have been a bit harsh regards the others. Micheal Mcintyre is pretty funny, especially considering he doesnt swear, i dont think i like any clean comics!

On that note... why is that?! Why does foul language add so much to a conver-fething-sation?

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

I think the funniest irony regarding swearing and comedian content is of American comedian Bob Saget, who during the 1980's and '90s was known for his fathering and non-offensive roles in Full House and America's Funniest Home Videos.

Allot of good comedians mentioned but not the best thats reserved for Billy Connelly.

If he counts I would also add Paul Merton. The Comedy Store players doing improv when he is present is inspired.

I like Eddie Izzard and Jim Jeffries quite a bit.
I also just recently saw a stand up routine by Ricky Gervais and thought he was extremely funny.
