Tolmeister Yes, it´s a typo. The Starter set is the same and includes 29 minis:

The only real prototype that we have at this moment is the Glorlon Raider:

We will show more prototypes when they are ready.

PrehistoricUFO We use "universe" instead of "galaxy" for two reasons: the space travel in Total Extinction are based in wormholes so we think is possible find a connection with a different galaxy, and, second... we think "known universe" sounds better than "galaxy"

Update #18 Nov 1, 2013
Humanity reaches the Stars

‘The Earth is the cradle of humanity, but mankind cannot stay in the cradle forever.’
Konstantin Tsialkovsky

Humankind lived locked in their home planet only 562 years ago. Then they managed to discover spatiotemporal channels that connected distant corners of the universe. These amazing shortcuts called Einstein-Rosen bridges (hereafter ERB) allowed to cover hundreds of light years in just a few hours. Complicated systems called astrogators were able to detect a point of origin (the Point of Jump) and to find out which only destination it was connected with (the Point of Destination).

Eventually humankind was able to travel through space and colonize new worlds. The necessity of resources for this titanic task and the feeling of unity that inspired the people of the Earth and filled them with admiration for the immense Universe made the governments of all the nations concede part of their power to the joint entity: the United Authority. It would be responsible for coordinating and leading people in their new and greatest adventure.

This system had two serious problems: it was rare that in the same planet system there were more than one or two feasible Points of Jump and opening the Bridge required huge quantity of energy.

The first voyage through a Bridge was such an important event that there was established a new calendar, and the previous one was discarded as a vestige of the forgotten obscurantism swept by the light of science. Very few opposed. The Age of the Diaspora started: the dispersal of humanity beyond its cradle.

In only several decades the Authority colonized hundreds of worlds and sent explorers in search of other thousands of habitable planets.

The special features of the Bridges made some systems more easily accessible than the others but humanity did not let up its attempts to inhabit all the suitable worlds that there could be in the Universe.

With this update we start some articles on the background history of Total Extinction.

I have no idea why you don't have more people in here raving on your designs.
They are gorgeous. I really hope the Stakan and Glorlon flyer get funded, I love them both.

That could be, it could also be people waiting for Mantics mars attack to finish or for this to be founded before they hop in, time will tell.

I love how people "wait until it's funded to join". They aren't getting charged if they help it along. Probably the silliest mentality of the modern world is holding off until something is deemed as cool and "in" before you declare support.

At least in the states that how it goes.

Thanks for your support!
Yes, we think we are going slow down because we haven´t reached the main goal yet (but we are really close to it now!) and the end of the campaign seems too far.
We hope the finish of the free exclusive miniature promotion on the 6th of November will help to give a push to the campaign.

I don't think that's it, but, whatever!

I think it just hasn't reached the point where more people think there's enough here yet, is all.

It would be interesting if we could see how many people are 'watching' this one.

Does anyone know if the project creators have access to that info?

@Alpharius The only information that Kickstarter provides to the creators is how many people saw the video of the campaign. At this moment the Total Extinction video on Kickstarter has been played 3018 times.

That's an odd metric.

I pledged and never even played the video. I rarely play said videos.

And Sentinel, please don't feel like the campaign is somehow a failure. I think a strong but manageable number will do you much more good, then being flooded and overloaded and being another of those 'failed by success' Kick starter stories.

Get the game in production, flesh out the starter factions a bit, show the community what you can do. The other factions (while I can't wait to see more) I think can wait for their own dedicated KS or normal roll out.

I don't think its kickstarter burnout per se. There is talk about a kickstarter Alien vs Predator Miniatures Game from Prodos Games. I think people wait to see what happens there.

Yup, this is doing just fine for a non-boardgame non-US gaming kickstarter from an 'unknown' company.

We are very happy about how the campaign (the first for us) is going. In less than two weeks we have raised 75% of the funding goal. We have more than a month to raise £ 7k and go further.

I'm pretty sure this is it right here. It might also help to have a smaller foot-in-the-door miniature pledge, like $10 or $15 (including shipping to the US) for a commander/character/Vorlon to get people to pledge at all. After that, the updates will eat away at their will power and many of them will end up increasing their pledges.

At least, that's how I get suckered into these things.

Bob makes a great point.

In for a penny, in for a pound. Its human psychology. Once you convince people to give that first inch, further commitment is easy.

Thanks for the feedback. You´re right but we have the problem of shiping costs: send a single mini from Europe to USA cost 10$ more or less. We have to think how to do it.

The point is to get them pledged at all. Then show them how they really can't pass up the deals from higher levels. Sure a few will stay at minimum, so at least covering cost is important, but getting them to say 'yes' is what sells. Then just keep them saying yes.

You have some other powerful assets in your arsenal. When Wargods' KS found that their $20 pledge for a demigod wasn't taking off, they added in all the PDF rule sets (pretty much free for them) to make the deal more enticing.

You are selling the PDFs for $8, right? So, $20 for a Vorlon (or whatever you guys are salivating for...) plus PDFs looks like a much better deal than just $20 for a Vorlon.

Of course, $15 would be even better... [shifty eyes]

Also, will there be a pledge manager or backerkit after the campaign? Bones 2 did sap a lot of my pre-holiday funds.

Great BobtheInquisitor!

Yes, we will include the PDF rules on every pledge.

And, yes we will include a pledge manager (probably backerkit) survey after the campaign

Those space Russians are also looking more and more difficult to decline. They kind of look like the crew of Cherno Alpha, which makes them even more awesome.

Oh, to have Cherno in a scale appropriate for wargaming.....

The NECA figures are on the large side.

They have Heroclix versions. They look pretty good, although the scale is probably 1/500 or something.
