It's a bit pricey but imagine your opponent's face when you plonk it down on the table!!

I think [finger air quotes] plonking her [/finger air quotes] on the table would get the desired reaction from your opponent.

I'd consider you a very bad person.

The American "Godzilla" was basically "King Kong" with a giant mutated iguana instead of a giant ape.

It was also, simply put, awful.

You go ahead and like that wuss.

I'm gonna continue to enjoy the fact that the REAL Big G killed him in under 5 seconds when they met.

Nice toy.

The American version was a silly remake of a silly franchise. Enjoyable, though (they beers I snuck into the theatre didn't hurt).

I laughed outloud when the movie pushed the blame onto French nuke-testing in Polynesia. Nice ret-con!

My kids love Godzilla! (OK, so do I) It was one of the movie series that we could watch as a family early on that the whole family could enjoy! Perhaps this foreshadows a new movie cluster (since they seem to be produced that way).

Anyone who likes the American parody of Godzilla more than THE Godzilla is a heretic and should be treated as such.

Yeah, I'm very surprised to see this many people with that preference. I was all of 8 or 9 when it came out, and I loved in then, but....blech.

The model looks awesome, and that's about my favorite incarnation of Godzilla right there, but for that price, she'd better come with it.

I saw that big Godzilla about four weeks ago as a preorder at BigBadToyStore. It's like $2,000 Usd. I was like WTF!! It's pretty cool, but imaged the tail about 7" shorter I also imagined his head a little bigger.

Lol, they'll never make a big Ghidorah.

When we say we liked the American version better are we talking about the creature design or the movie itself? The person who brought it up seemed like they were talking about the creature design and everyone after that seemed to be referring to the film itself. I thought the design was actually pretty interesting but the actual movie itself was terrible.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

Do you the Godzilla community and Toho both refer to the American Godzilla from 1998 as G.I.N.O.?

Good stuff.

Of course, I think somebody here in America is going to give it another go, but a lot more 'faithful' to the Original G this time.

I hope.

Actually, Toho refers to him as Zilla, at least as of 2004 when they made Final Wars and featured him as one of the monsters.

Hey look, it's GINO. Which stands for Godzilla In Name Only.

Though as bad as that film was, the accompanying cartoon series was good.

EDIT: Gah! Ninja-ed by the beast himself!

Sorry dudes, but I gotta stick my alliance in with Ma55ter_fett on this one. The head is crap on the American version - I agree, but it's still a lot better than the one in the OP's pic; it just looks all outta proportion and entirely un-threatening!
