Thank you for your quick reply. Guess I will have to add another one to my pledge with a copy of the new rulebook.

Do we have enough info/reviews on the Updated Rules to say whether or not they're 'worth it'?

You can see the multiple pages of FAQ/errata on it so far on the Studio McVey forums. And realize they didn't update the scenarios for the new rules which has caused other issues. And realize they forgot to include some of the errata from the first attempt in the new version...
I am personally hoping they eventually release a set which addresses all the issues being brought up on their official forums.

Hopefully the 'revised rules' also take all of that into account too!
(Also, got a link for the lazy? )
Talk about another major blemish/black eye if they don't, especially after releasing and charging for an 'updated' version!

I am going to be very annoyed if they don't. Specially if they specifically asked for people feedback and said they were going to make sure all issues were sorted before printing the final material .

As mentioned, I hope a revision to the 'revised edition' comes out. They need one.
I personally am not too happy with the official forums or present state of the rules.

Do we know if the 'revised' edition will take into account all this additional playtesting that they asked for?

It does not. It went to print before any of the threads linked above were started.
That is one of the problems. They released the PDF as it went to print, and the only play testing was that allegedly done by the folks who did the revision.

I'm kinda sad and angry I just spent $3 on it.
Yeah, it is 'only' $3, but still, WTF?!?
Oh well... so much for thinking that McVey could salvage something from this debacle.

In fairness, the $3 does give you a nice hard copy of rules in a better state than those included in the initial shipment/game. With the new figure cards we are also getting the game should be better than what we currently have.
Unfortunately it is clear they are still not in a 'final' state. I do think the 2nd shipment figures and painting DVD will be great, and do very much look forward to solo rules and a 'fixed' version of the full rules coming out at some point.

TBH we already know that the photos of the original minis all look pretty crap. specially due to the glossiness of the figures. But looking to the minis we got I am sure they will be fine. Again not the great detail level of the resin masters of soft plastic but more than acceptable for gaming level.

I know man, whilst i had no issues with the quality of the 1st wave as boardgame pieces i was expecting rather more from the KS exclusives. Hopefully they are better than those pictures look but this has pretty much killed my enthusiasm for this one. Least the terrain looks ok i guess.

Yup, read that but still dissapointing, you take one look at 'not jayne's face and tell me that is right... Automatically Appended Next Post: Mike has said he will get some production samples and prime them. Maybe that will help.

It's not the mould lines, its a complete lack of definition on Ridleys face and the aforementioned not Jayne, although they all suffer from it. As game pieces they're fine but as Ks exclusives and the models that got me to invest in sed wars they are just not good enough.

Having tried (and failed) to photograph some of the original sedition wars figures (specifically PVC Kara's face) I think it's far to early to be crying over the definition on those faces
It's a lesser version of the problems photographing Reaper Bones figures, the light comes through the thin bits (like noses etc) and you end up with a falsely blured image
Until you've got your own and primed them you can't tell.
I'm fairly certain they'll be a lot better than these pictures suggest

As an aside, my only disappointment is from me expecting these figures to be in resin.
Originally, it was one figure for $10. A later stretch goal 'unlocked' the free strain version of the figure.
I guess with pricing like that, I assumed they'd be resin like the special edition Kara.
As an aside, if they botch up the sculpts on this run of Sedition Wars, nobody will be willing to pay $10 for a single sculpt add-on when the expansion comes along.
Also, why didn't they put up the picture of the Aphid Suit Barker? Of everything with fine fiddly bits that would be harmed by warping, that figure would be hit the worst.

Nod. I didn't expect resin, but I didn't expect that I'd be paying $5/figure for models in that gakky cheap plastic.

Originally posted on the Studio McVey forums today:
Hi,
So we've hit a fairly crucial point in the development of Sedition Wars.
I'd like to first address the forums and say thank you ~ a thousand times thank you ~ for being so patient, passionate, and forthcoming.
Due to several factors outside the scope of the development of Sedition Wars, we've had to split design priorities.
These factors have unfortunately robbed our focus from addressing issues that prevent you from having a solid and fun play experience.
As of right now, we are gathering all feedback from the the forums, identifying key issues and refreshing the rules revisions.
Our plan is to take the current state of the rules and focus, hone, and streamline all wording and flow to construct a better rules set.
We've made a lot of mistakes, both on the design and planning side. In terms of communication and relating to you, our players, we need to do a better job.
Moving forward we will be doing our best to renew your trust in us. Please understand, we want you to have the best possible play experience we can provide.
In the next few days we'll have a road map to these improvements that I would like to share with you. We want to illuminate our intent and be as transparent as we can with the new process. We want to show you exactly where we see the product heading, not just in the next few months, but hopefully with your support, for years to come.
Regards,
Rob Baxter.
I'll post more information as and when I get it.
