Hi all, my name is Will. I am 20 years old and a Jr in college.

My friend showed me this game (Warhammer 40k) a couple days ago and I have been chomping at the bit to play it. Haven't had time to get together w/ my friends though. They really pushed me into looking at different armies and reading the fluff. From all the reading and looking at all the info on GW, I have come to the conclusion that I love the Blood Angels. They look cool and they seem to have a somewhat flexible way to play. I like that they are for speed and brute force in cc.

I was curious if you all could help me with the army's make up. Being a college student, I don't have a lot of money to spend. I'd like to keep my bill around $200. My friend has a codex and templates he said I could use. This is just for fun. Not really into doing it for the competitiveness... I was definitely going to get the Blood Angels Battleforce for $100. " This set contains a Tactical Squad, an Assault Squad, a Death Company Squad and a Rhino dedicated transport vehicle." What else would I need as far as personnel to at least put up a good fight against the my veteran friends??

Thanks all and I hope to be a sponge to your useful info.

-Will

Welcome
For lists, you should search the Army Lists thread, or make a new thread and ask there.
Also, specify a point limit on the list. Here are some rough sizes.

500 - 1000 = Small
1000 - 1500 = Average
1500 - 2000 = Somewhat large

When you get higher then 2K, and especially 3K it is usually considered a large army. For now, I think you should focus on 500/1000 point lists. Then work up to 1500.

Hey
Welcome to Dakka! As forruner_mercy said, check out the army lists section. A 1000 point list would be a sensible starting point imo. Once you've got that sorted and you get a good feel for the game you can work up to 1500 (the most common game size).
