Am I missing something?!? Where did it actually say that the ship had a 'giant hammer'?!? I'm pretty sure the video said that the ship was called the 'Heldenhammer', but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I do however think that people completely disregarding the game completely and declaring it awful and a complete waste of time and money 'BEFORE' anyone has actually seen any of the models or read the rules is just silly. I mean seriously guys, talk about jumping the gun! It goes live on the website in 10 minutes, at least we can then comment on the models! But doing it now based on a name and simple premise of what we believe to be possibly correct is ridiculous. Sort it out Dakka!

I do agree that the video isn't exactly an Oscar award contender, but I do kind of get the feeling that it was a very last minute idea. Just them wanting to provide us with a little teaser while we wait. Anyone completely basing their opinion of the game and to a smaller degree GW, is not particularly clever in my humble opinion.

To be fair to GW, it looks slick, professional and well produced (judging by the pictures anyway) but then again, no-one was really doubting their ability to produce quality. Still, £70 for a one-off game? Nope - too rich for my tastes, no matter how good, notwithstanding the fact that the minis have absolutely no utility elsewhere.

The video was truly ridiculous - i love zooming and fading as much as the next guy but it helps if you combine it with a variety of interesting images not the same smelly old ones that have been knocking around for weeks

Im still looking forward to seeing it go up on the site though!

I would have been more...okay, slightly interested in a two sided naval game instead of a pile of different ships thrown int ocombat, granted, many players would feel let down if their faction was not represented but that could not have been helped.

Unfortunatley, this is not something that would ever interest me. Kudos for trying something new GW, hope it turns out well so that we can continue getting these types of games.

I went and looked. The "meh" was overwhelming.

Pirates of the Spanish Main held my interest more than this did.

Meh, looks nice and well presented. Not touching it until I see a rule book. Not much in it for a lot of money.

Ugh, those ships make the Spartan's Uncharted Seas ships look great by comparison.

What an horrible mess, the only one that is good looking is the dwarven one.

Yep, still love me some Pirates. Chuck down some GF9 islands and a shed load of five mast ships and open beer.

140 bucks? For a boardgame? Ok, not for the boardgame, but for the nice miniatures...

There is better naval battle products over there, mayber their ships are not the perfect ones, but they are not made of pure gold...

The sad party is that GW will actually sell this thing enough to call it a "success".

Not only that, but unless I am mistaken, these are all new ships done in plastic - surely the cost alone of injection plastic moulds is sky high? It's one of the reasons everything isn't done in plastic. Probably why they are asking £70 for it

It really is baffling. Presumably they haven't struck the old Man O war moulds - they have the mini line ready to go in Finecrap so why not re-release that? No, we'll release a totally new game, in a new scale as a one-off. Doesn't make sense

My thoughts: Beautiful. I love the models and the presentation. I love them a lot. A bit disappointed at the "Super Friends vs. the Legion of Doom" set up. Still could be fun... but not $115 of fun. Oh well.

that was me...why is this game so similar to Pirates of the Caribbean... those movies...(well the first one was good) but...yeah not so much the other 3

Meh, I'll see if there are any about on the release day but I'm not overly fussed. I'd be curious to see if they did similar for 40k but i'm expecting next year to be 40k big box and Hobbit big box.

I'll nab the book to see how Phil Kelly gets on with a novel.

According to the GW website, Dreadfleet is being sold for $190 in Australia (Aus dollars) which converts to £124 / $196 USD
