I'm loving the poses on those gits, Are you gonna try to do any sort of mantis warrior 'wings' on them sorta like Ravenwing bikes?

@Alfndrate: Nope, the wings are only associated with jump pack marines.

@Miss Dee: Ifalna worked on a seer council that were effectively on power boards... came out really nice. Dig back in her thread a bit and you'll find it (or her gallery).

This might just be my flagrant nerditry coming into play here, but I would love to see a jetbike that has the tail end of a firefly class ship from Firefly (the show not the bug )

Thanks Moltar... That's pretty much it as far as the re-paints go... though I now have a dev squad, a couple of more trade marines, couple of sergeants for the tac squads. I do have two painted land speeders and some terminators painted up but they're in my old scheme and not up to snuff.

By next weekend you should see the addition of the scout bikes, two small LS-Storm ready scout squads and a terminator libby. Probably won't all be fully painted... but it'll represent a pretty sizable upgrade in capability.

@Reiko: Thanks! Think I'll do one more to fill out the squad, even though I don't need it for the upcoming game.

@stonned_astartes: Glad you like it! Thanks for chiming in, always nice to see new faces... (so to speak).

@BoA: Well, I'll take another army shot when the current batch of stuff gets finished. Soon I'll have to separate my shots into early period and late period armies.

@shrike: Be good to have you back bud. Good luck on your last exam.

Well, so far things are going swimmingly. Finished off the combi-plasma attachments so they're ready to go. Am in the process of priming one of the dozer blades after considerable fiddling in order to fit it. I'll start painting that this evening once I decide what I'm going to do with it (I have ideas... just need to sort them out).

Possibly most exciting is I've picked out all the bits for my terminator libby. Well, nearly all the bits. Does anyone know what an epistolary is supposed to look like??

More later.

Being thread jacked is a favourite past time of this thread

@Gits, good plan to make up the squad whether they are used or not, that way the option is always there...

Git's rules of blogging #28:
"If you're going to pimp your own thread on someone else's blog, include a link so people can easily pop over and check it out without having to hunt through your profile for it."

Progress so far... one of the dozer blades is completely finished. No weathering yet but at the moment I'm more concerned with just getting it painted. Libby body is stripped of paint so I can start filing and assembling.

Thanks Alf, I can work with that.

OH, and here's something for the "pics or it didn't happen" crowd. The combi plasma's are made with chapterhouse's little combi-plasma bit, trimmed down and set onto the side of the rifle as if it were a little, disposable clip-on attachment. While you can't see it from this picture I was really happy with my job painting the plasma core which is much better molded (clean and crisp) than the usual drek from GW. The dozer blade is one of the originals. It is not crooked in spite of what it looks like in the pic. It is movable and removable. It needs beating up... but the weathering can wait.

I am not sure you need to weather the dozer blade. It would look a bit out of place on the pristine razorback.

That would be me

Looks great, really like the incorporation of the 'standard' hazard stripes with the Tranquility markings (makes the Mantis Warrior Elite look even more dangerous )

I agree with Ice, i dont think it really need weathering, it looks good as is

IceAngel beat me too it, the razor is in such a shiny condition, a beaten up blade would just look out of place...

Also, if anyone asks Gits, I did not get that from a painting article that was in a white dwarf that I happened to find on Scribd

I agree with you guys on the weathering... wheat I meant to say was that I didn't want to do the weathering until I could do the whole tank. Since these are factory fresh... a clean dozer blade goes right along with that.

And to end the night... a little teaser for my Badab era terminator librarian. All the parts are assembled, but I need to do a bit of green stuffing inside the shoulder pads before I can do final assembly. GSing is tomorrow night's project. I think he's going to look great on the table but he's very 3-dimensional & as such I'm not sure he'll photograph well. Guess we'll find out once he's painted.

Not a bad night's work.

Thems some very crisp lines Gits on the dozer blade, guessing air brush and masking (not in that order ). The yellow stripes seam to fade to white on the bottom...is that on purpose or is that the magic of photography and lighting. Either way it looks very eye catching in the photo.

Mostly, on my phone.

Now that's a Termie libby. Lessee: GK body, chapterhouse storm shield and pads, sevrin loth honour guard axe, and iron halo etc from the Termie sprues. Crux looks like it's from the Ven dread. Scroll from vanilla marines. Miss anything?
