I gave my brother a Valk for Christmas, and he asked me to paint it up for him, as his painting skills and painting motivation leave something to be desired.
I however am on vacation and have a very busy scheduale, not to mention a girlfriend who doesnt want me doing much hobby on vacation.
Either way, my brother assembled the Valk, and left it on my doorstep. With a grey valk, a bottle of paint, my brothers choice of 5 citadel colours (orkhide shade, white, red gore, shadow grey, chaos black) and just two hours to paint in, I set about my mission.
This was painted in 2 hours, including drying time for the prime, applying transfers, basing, and i had no spray gun, just one tank brush and one large drybrush and one fine detail brush.

Hey all, I am not dead, and I have returned from Australia, and back to doing some hobby work.
Today was much assembling, and a little bit of painting.
I made a start on my first bastion, laying down the basic colours I intend to use on all plent strike terrain (bastions, skyshield pad, aegies lines, fortress of redemption etc)
Just wanted to get people's opinions. Keep in mind still very work in progress!

Not to bad actually. Did you make the sections removeable? I know they don't give you enough plates to do that, but if you cut up the card board from the box it comes in. Use plain old PVA glue and then set something heavy on it, and let it rest overnight; the cardboard will be just as hard as the plastic if not moreso. Just an idea so you can add depth to the piece

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

What do you mean by depth? And yes, its magnatized into 3 sections for ease of transport.

Raven's Refuge, Imperial Bastion of the Blood Ravens Chapter.
Apologies for the dark photos, my photo room lightbulb blew this morning, I'll buy a new one tomorrow.
The Bastion is assaulted by foul Zenos, as the Chapter Champion wades into the aliens for the glory of the Emperor.
Thoughts/comments welcome.
Cheers!
P.S
Just noticed it was on a tilt, I didn't sit it right before I took the photos, sorry. My bad, a bit sleepy.

I would recommend moving the cannon or raising it up. Positioned as they are, they can't really see anything. I found what works best for me is to make a platform for the cannon to sit on in the forward alcove, allowing it to fire down on incoming enemies.

Hey guy, awesome paintings, especially for the time you've been painting, the only thing that I don't like are the gaps at your bastion and tanks and the landrainer and so, I know gapfilling is one of the most horrible things in the progress, but it would make them even more awesome The only other thing that I don't like is your basing. The original bases from your ravens are great, but the one for the valk and even for your chaos stuff don't fit with your painting skills! Use finer sand and paint it also, that may help, but nevrtheless great work!
