That should be classified as abuse. We have a huge problem in SA (as I'm sure the rest of the world does too) but these (mainly Afrikaans) families feed their kids until they are the same size their massivley obese parents. It makes me... angry, but I know it's so futile. Grrr...

On topic though, I agree, complete abuse for the kids, the mother should have never been allowed to conceive. I see a lot of parents in her kind of situation in the US, lots of couples doing exactly what she did...

Maybe now that this article has been published and she's being publicly ridiculed, she will see the light and start feeding her kids real food like taco bell or kfc instead of mcdonalds.

The difference is that your on benefits for the right reasons. A temporary safety net whilst you look for further employment. Seeing as you've payed your taxes whilst in work I really don't have an issue with people like yourselves being on the dole. After all it can happy to any one of us.

It's people like the beast in this article that do my nut in. I haven't read the full article (Can't bring myself to spend than about 30 seconds on the Daily Fails website, it makes me feel dirty) but I don't see how its possible to claim so many so you can eat like this? Perhaps food vouchers are the way forward? That way you can ensure people like this on 2000 calories a day.

The Chawners, haven't worked in 11 years, claim their weight is a hereditary condition and the money they receive is insufficient to live on.

Total Gak. Give this lot a job which involves walking all day and stop them easting burgers and just watch their weight drop. I'm normally quite a liberal and fairly tolerant chap but this just makes me want to scream. Giving this lot 22K in benefits is an insult to every genuinely disabled person out there struggling by.

I'm on the highest band for JSA, and get £64 a week. That bucket of lard is reportedly getting £20 a week more than me.....

I will skip certain topics of previous discussion (her weight, ugliness level, stupidity level, even her/her children's health) I just want to know what is causing her to be "too busy to prepare proper meals for her triplets or do much in the way of housework"?

Edit: MDG, re-read the article, she is getting £227 a week. If you are getting £64, she is getting £163 more than you.

One the fatarses is on the same benefit (anyone else seeing a fundamental flaw in the naming? Why should you benefit from being unemployed?) as I am, and they reckon she is getting £20 a week more than. Sounds like spare change, but thats an additional £80 a month which would come in hella handy in my situation!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why my grandmother waited on a trolley in a corridor as she (who worked every fething day she was able, to feed her kids) lay dying. Because the welfare state, benefits, NHS, social services and state schools (all of which I entirely support) are being raped by monsters like this, that loathsome turd will raise her poor children to become just like her, dooming them.

I worked in child support social services for years, towards the latter part when the so called 'Sure Start' project was initiated, giving EVEN MORE to the most troublesome, those that wouldn't take their kids to free dental check ups 1 mile away had NHS dental clinics run right at the entrance to their housing estates, extra tuition and programs run at the schools for their kids when a parent in a similar financial situation were denied this treatment simply because they made effort and weren't gak.

yeh we'd get the same if we started calling our children names like 'randy.' Maybe mentals not the right word though.

People get fat because they consume more calories than are expended in metabolism and exercise. There are no 'hereditary' fat people in Darfur.

The Chawners should not eat 3,000 calories each per day because the recommended amount for a sedentary lifestyle is 2,000 for a woman and 2,500 for a man.

I thought the reccomendations were for a non-sedentary lifestyle though? Sort of the level you need to go to work and that?

And to be honest, if they are only eating 3,000 a day, they are lying. I eat that, and I'm not enormous. As already covered, I don't have the most active of lifestyles. And I would *love* to see how they manage to feed a family of four on just £50 a week, and claim they can't afford fresh Veg!

They're at home all day, why not grow some. Of course! That requires effort, and taking control of your own life.

Hmm thats $74 USD a week for 4 people, thats....

7 days x 3 meals = 88 cents per meal.

If you actually go to a supermarket the fruit and veg section is the cheapest bit. And real markets are much cheaper.
