Super cool project here man, and a quick note if you were still interested, to fix that loose dirt on the bases down just soak the lot in watered down PVA (white glue? in the u.s).
That will cement it together and not make it all gummy either.

Models look awesome! You have given me an idea of what to do with all the gobos from my battle for skull pass.
Can't wait to see more. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the kind words, and the tips. I have been working on the cult very little lately, as I have had little time at all for the hobby.
A while back I did manage to start work on the bases for the squig hunters unit (spear gobbos). In one corner I've made a cave that comes apart in four bases, I'm pretty happy with it.
It still needs some green stuff and extras, but I haven't done too many other bases in the unit so I'll work on them a bit before I post pics.
Thanks again, for the interest and the feedback.

Rediscovered this P&M thread from your sig in the army list section. This is such a great project . It would be cool to see pics of the cave!

Thanks for the quick response! The only problem I foresee would be cutting off a bit of the hood/cape.

By the way, which robed goblins were you referring to? I need a bit more leg showing, if you know what I mean.

Thanks for the pics, I'll stop derailing the thread now!

Even harder 'cause my special lady friend is against the hobby... :\ But she likes the other things I make, it really is just the hobby she is against. It's frustrating. I think, besides not being too interested in any of the races, she doesn't like all the violence and what have you... but it's not like I'm very into the violent part of these critters either, as you can see from my models.

What fascinates me most about the game is the approximation of real action. Movement and interaction of many sorts. She likes this aspect, too, but not enough to get into the game. I started thinking about using the rules to set up a "natural" scene to play out, like wild horses running across the plains, with clouds sweeping across the plain as well. Those would be the "armies", they would have some sort of objectives: the clouds for instance would have to get to the opposite board edge.

THe rules I was thinking of using were mostly centered around leadership tests. The problem for me is how limiting that is to the modeling aspect... I'm just not that into modeling horses.

Anyhoo, enough of my lamenting. I'll have a reall work space one of these days, and I'll finish the Squig Cult proper like!

I'll ask my girlfriend about that, maybe she'd be less reluctant about my "ugly, bizarre embodiements of evil"!!!

I'm quite lucky nevertheless, for though she doesn't like them being ugly & weird & violent, she does appreciate the more "artistic" features of our Hobby... And surprisingly, she sometimes has some good advice to give about my Nurgle guards!!!! But not much time left for them, still, uh...

Good luck anyway!!

Hey all. I just wanted to post that I started a new army list blog on a different forum. It's a dogs of war army list on Dogs of War online, because I'm using their list.Version 2 to be precise (just because the changes to version 3 didn't seem to apply to me).

I've started the thread to organize the Pirates of the Sour Sea list (under the same username), so I can figure out what I need to model for that army.

I'm throwing this out on Dakka Dakka, not to steal gamers away to the site, but because I value the input I get here.

And that's enough of a disclaimer, I hope. I'll be posting the WIP pics, when they come, on Dakka.

Not really an update, but I wanted to post that I'm going to use GW figures for the "pirates" instead of pirate minis. I figure with a little GS work I can make them just as ragtag as the pirate minis I've been finding.

Still struggling to make the list as tourney friendly as possible. I like to be as close to the rules as possible to fit into the game's universe more appropriately. The only problem is the "pirates" are very much a dogs of war list, and it doesn't seem like they are getting any support from GW.

Just had a brain storm... For the Pirates of the Sour Sea "counts as empire" army: Artisans (painters, sculpters, musicians and singers... even story tellers and thespians) counts as Warrior Priests... any thoughts? Hired on to immortalize and entertain the brave men of The Yellow Streak Mining Company... (working title)

Do you mean one of the Fungus Foragers? I do have one gobo under a fallen tree, but he's not trapped. I like the idea, tho. Thanks. I'll keep it in mind, as I will be working on the Cult morre in the near future (if I'm lucky).

Thanks for the interest, too. I'll post some pics as soon as I have a few squig hunters blu-tac-ed in.

EDIT:
Just want to start naming my Squig Cult Characters.
-Cedrug, of course, is the General and highest level shaman in the cult.
-Og will play the Squig Pipes in the herd.
-Grimzog is the First Knight
-Maguz shall play the part of Cedrug's apprentice.
