Regarding Bequin Trilogy, i'd put good money on most people wanting Eisenhorn to win. Personally i can't wait to see which side Harlon Nayl comes down on! I am pretty sure that he'll side with his old boss tho I'd not be surprised that he'll be forced to betray him to Ravenor ion the end.

Back to this thread I'm a little bit spun about, probably cos of the switch over from the Legion thread and the wizard invitational. Is there still a plan for a "good" crew that will allow you to concentrate on painting light and whites?

Had a few nice sessions lately and have a pic of Sister Valencia, Repentia Illuminati, Fugitive of Haros and the resident pathfinder.

NOTE: I've purposefully used the daemonette head for the large, lidless eyes and glued tiny bionic eye parts on them, to rep some of her war gear and to build on a scheme of =I= given enhancements. She will get sculpted, torn shirt that will be suitably explicit, and I'll look into folding the front of her tabard, to mimic the wind blowing from the base. Lots of small things going on, and I am quite excited of the start.

In terms of character development, I want a Sister of Battle with all the combat training and zeal to start with, wrongfully punished and shamed, who went through hell and back, and is the only kind (if ruthless) soul in the band. Her years in the clandestine service of =I= Silas, in the hives and border lands of the Imperium, has greatly influenced her attire. She has taken a martyr attitude towards the sororitas and their polished look and embraced the augments that let her kill the emperors enemies with greater precision. She is Silas' "heart", trying to keep the master in the Emperor's light during the black pit that is their journey to deliver Justice. Hanging in her neck is a single blessed bolt gun round - for Silas, if and when the great enemy conquers.

Today I am also sharing something else new. I'm moving my stuff under a proper google blog - for ease of use more than anything, but also in case Dakka would one day not be there. I've been here for 10+ years and have no reason to think otherwise, but Google also looks like it'll be around a while I will keep the dakka blogs parallel and hope to link to other stuff at dakka too, and I would be extremely thankful - and return the favor - if you well established bloggers would post a link/mention in your blogs when you have a moment. Also if someone is active at Warseer, maybe you could add a link if suitable post/topic occurs? A lot of great folks and blogs there, and for awhile I tried to do both, but dakka is the place for me.

Not completely sold on the sister at the moment, mainly cos she still looks like a dark eldar i guess, but i'm looking forward to seeing how it comes together. I'm sure it will look like a completely different model by the time you're done. From the pose i assume she is gonna be brandishing soem sexy hitech pistol? I'd love to see her toting some heavy old assault rifle

I like where you are taking this Migs. You are a constant inspiration.

I can see how the Eisenhorn and Ravenor novels have inspired you. They are great stories. I reckon they would make amazing movies if done properly, but that's never going to happen. It's nice to dream though.

Thank you Earl! I also dream - one day, one day, but not from GW, someone outside with enough vision, influence and talent needs to fall in love with the stories. GW has so far showed a total lack of ambition in how their IP is utilized outside of the core business.

But yeah, I'm very curious what you will be doing next for your projects. It's just mind blowing what you are doing. Right now, when it comes to Astartes, I think you and Apologist are the top dogs when it comes to these projects. You got the true scale thing done, but also stick to the background.

What you are doing here is actually make the 40k universe come alive. Just like John Blanche did with his artwork, it was his artwork that really defined 40k since...well, did you ever read the Rogue Trader era rulebook? Most of it looks as if it's taken from a GURPS rulebook or something, but Blanche's material really set it apart and created something very twisted out of it.
Your projects sort of do the same, but on a different level. You show us what kind of amazing stuff can be done with the GW range. I've already been spreading the word of your blog on Troll Forged Miniatures (hopefully we will see people follow your example once we got the plastic miniatures out), and a Nurgle forum (which sadly got me into trouble there...).

By the way, speaking of John Blanche, I assume you already have the Inquisition artbooks right?

I had a very nice 5hour session with Hammer today. Alben Silas is now finished. Furthermore I did a round of sculpting on Sister Valecia, or sis Val, as she is known in the business (bounty or ordos, I believe the sororities have a less charming name for her). I was inspired to push it a little after Jakob's absolutely fantastic sculpt work on the same model. I hope I get to share pics before I go to US again on sunday. I did the hair in combination of sculpting the GS, an adding thin sausages of gs that flow very naturally and the end result was a surprising success. By no means perfect, but somehow surprising is almost as good

I also hope to try painting see-through-fabric with her for the first time. So I sculpted a skimpy top too. Now left is gluing the arms + custom bolt pistol I've built and chainsword (weapon choice to tie well into existing imagery and typologies, with so much off the charts characters coming up next), some purity seals and small bionic detail. I also want steel caps of some sort.

Also Hammer's now seen the red in person, so at least one other person knows how it really looks. All my efforts to photograph it suck pixel.

Welcome to the US migs! Because of you and your wonderfull models (and malika2) im using those rules to create a large campaign as well so far im working on an IG kill team but will probibly do some =I= groups and rouge traders in the near future I'll post a blog when i get all the parts from the mail and actually start working

I do have one question though when i caculate points for a hired gun does it come with all the gear it says for free or is it optional and i have to pay for it?
