Losing the will to paint, I get that often. What I found at that point is to not push yourself to paint it will only turn painting into a hated chore. I like the WIP's you've got going on, the talons look quite good, I tried something once to get a glossy type red, I did a base color of Mithril Silver on the area then used about 5-6 coats of red wash (waiting for each coat to dry of course) and the result was very pleasing

I'm loving the colour scheme you've got going on with this army, it's nice and distinctive but still chaos appropriate.

The warp talon WIP looks awesome, can't wait to see it finished.

Knightley: I know what you mean. I tried to do 20 Marauders for my Warriors of Chaos. Hated every second I think it was because I had no one to speak to yesterday, normally I'm painting while chatting to my mates

Lennymaybe: Thank you It worked well on my Warriors so I thought I'd apply it to the Marines so now it looks like I have Chaos of past and present in a way and I hope to have one finished soon to show you

I really like how you've painted your marines. I bought a box of the new Raptors/Warp Talons on Sat. I began building them yesterday but my bed called me to it before I finished.

Your blog is making me think about my blog that I have going on here, but I haven't updated it in probably over a year as my work and home life allow me just shy of no time to do much of anything.

Heh. Thanks. That bear seems to be quite the hit. I've found the Warptalons to be a pain in the butt to assemble so far, especially those pitiful tiny wingy things that go on the side of the backpacks. I had some issues getting those things to stick and when I got them on, that's when I muttered off to bed. Haven't touched them again yet, but they're not as painful as some other things I've assembled.

Yours are looking pretty awesome. Love the color you have on the talons on the feet. Goes really well. Enjoy your color scheme overall very much.

Bunnygurl: Yeah those little wing things are a bit rubbish to fit. I can only imagine how rubbish they will be when you try to transport them or use them in a game.

Speaking of games I played my friends IG with my Necrons.... I got obliterated Vanquisher tanks made a mockery of my vehicles.

I'm not feeling painting at the moment. These Warp Talons seem daunting for some reason and I can't get my head into paint mode. So this blog might be quiet for a couple of weeks as I get my head together as I have a ton of paperwork to do in my spare time (yippee) and just genral thinking about my life. But if the painting bug returns before those 2 weeks are up you guys will be the first to see its results

Warp Talon is looking great buddy, I know exactly what you mean about losing the will to paint, I suffer it a lot hence its taken me almost a year to paint 13 of the 16 Berserkers I have. Still only 3 to go so I should be finished the two squads by 2014....

Nice work on the Warp Talon. I think I've said it before, but I really like the colour scheme you're using for your army, and you're executing it well.

I feel better now. I managed to knock out about half of my paperwork is a couple of hours today so this has pleased me

Chaos Emperor: Thanks Well the Brass armour is basecoated Warplock Bronze (tinbitz) then drybrushed with Auric Armour Gold (Burnished Gold). The metal is Lead Belcher (Boltgun), washed with Nuln Oil (Badab Black) Then highlighted/edge highlighted with Ironbreaker.

So yeah sorry this isn't a proper update but I thought I'd share my return. I know it wasnt for long but getting rid of half my paper work in one go has given me a boost

OK, things have been sorted. Family are talking again and I got a different car after taking out a bank loan (oh joy) but I need to do a little work to it (rear shoes, service, cambelt) but its fine. So this means I will be continuing the blog

Hooray an update It's a Warp Talon, but I'm finding myself hating painting them. I don't know why. I love the models and think they are actually cool but painting them I hate them

Warp Talon 2 WIP:


I also had a game of WHFB yesterday against my friend. I was using my Warriors of Chaos and he was using his Lizardmen. I was flattened Partly because I don't have any of the new models only what I had with the old codex and partly because I deployed my force like a fool Once I'm upto 1000pts for Chaos Marines I will either extend them to 2000pts or run 2 blogs at once, the other being my Warriors, and adding a unit to each in order. Thoughts on this welcomed.

There's something rather fitting about a headless CSM, sleepy hollow style.

Wait, you play 40K and fantasy? I still don't even know how to play 40K. But I enjoy having multiple things to work on, it keeps me fresh.

Maybe working on something different for a while will help? If you're trying to force yourself to do something you're not enjoying it, it's going to become more and more of a chore.

Lennymaybe: Yes I play both. Started off on 40k and worked my way into Fantasy. I agree that being able to swap between 2 projects will be good to avoid making the hobby a chore. The only downside is my Warriors of Chaos have the same colour scheme as The Brazen Legion Thats how I got the colour scheme for these guys.
