Well I seem to be on a roll these past couple of days as in just a day I finished a Chosen model from Dark Vengeance. I don't think it's my best paint job but I am pleased with it

Great looking cultists nash. I love the brightness of the reds. Often times i see chaos models painted in such grim muddy colors, but these are really striking. Liking the metals on the marine too. Nice work!

Well another Chosen is complete. These models looked a lot more complicated when I started but now they seem pretty easy now I have a system. I'm hoping to have the Chaos Dark Vengeance units done by the end of the year, so we'll see how that pans out.

Loving the progress on these guys mate. Looking forward to seeing the whole unit together.

Despite my love of the Emperor, them's some nice Chosen.

Shame they must be put to fire.

They are looking really nice. I think the last one is my favourite so far, he has a very grim dark look and he's not even finished yet.

The chosen are looking great. The colour scheme looks awesome.

The bottom one is the same one I've been paining recently. It's nice to see the same model painted in such a different way.

Apologies for the long gap since this update. Been rather busy what with the run up to Christmas and sorting out the last bits and pieces of my old job ready for my new one in January. I did mange to get Chosen number three finished so feast your peepers on him

Wow, Chosen #3 looks really good. The contrast makes the model pop vividly. And the lava effect on the power axe is fantastic!

Now as the title implies, I have goodies to share that I've acquired over the past few weeks




I can start the building blocks of my Imperial Fists by planning what I need. And I will be doing Orcs and Goblins to add some Green skinned fun to blog in the future. I know Fantasy is everyone's cup of tea but of well

I'm currently working on the Chosen Champion but I'm painting as a Word Bearer as I think he would make a great Dark Apostle.

I must apologise for the massive gap between my last post and now. I have some good reasons. I started a new job on the 2nd of January and I hated it threes days in. As the weeks went on I entered a state of depression, nearly crying every morning having to face work, unhappy, miserable, considered deliberately getting injured at work or on the way to work so I wouldn't have to go there anymore. I lost all motivation to do anything. I would come home and just sit down and do nothing. Just watching the time tick by till I had to be back in my personal hell. But I've found another job with my old company for more money and I have cheered up immensely. My interest in the hobby has come back as well. I have an idea for four projects and a mini project.

I'm sorry it's not a proper update. That comes tomorrow and I'll tell you what my ideas are.

So I'm only a few days late Got side tracked by Fable and Pokémon Y (a guilty pleasure). I finished the Chosen Champion but I thought he looked more like a Dark Apostle. So I painted him as a Word Bearer since they are the most fanatical. I managed to tie him in to my army. Until I get some more Chosen done he shall be their Champion. Here he is:

I'm not entirely sure about the painting quality. But I dislike painting that model so I won't be going over it.

Now onto my ideas. In the future this blog will contain 4 projects:
-40K Brazen Legion (Chaos Marines)
-Fantasy Brazen Legion (Warriors of Chaos)
-Fantasy Vampire Counts
-Horus Heresy Imperial Fists

Got three more units to finish for my Chaos Marines before we start the next two projects. As always comments and feedback wanted

Well I've returned after a 4 month break. I lost the will to paint then I didn't have a PC for several months only got this one a week ago.
But I did finally get the desire to paint and finished off the Dark Vengeance Lord and Helbrute.

I thought perhaps all that Chaos worship finally came back to bite you!

Welcome back Nash and you bring lovely painted minis as well

I really like the heat effect on the plasma pistol.

The Lord and Brute are looking great as always. Really like your colour scheme.

As promised here is my treat or punishment (you decide). Its my attempts at painting yellow as I am determined to have a 30K Imperial Fist army.
Right here's the results in the order I've done them.

Attempt 1: This was done by using the old school foundation white paint from the starter set and painting, Iyander Darksun then Golden Yellow over it. Just horrific


Attempt 2: This time white foundation and then Golden Yellow with sunburst as the highlight and a terrible attempt at putting brown inks/washes into the recesses.


Attempt 3: Chaos Black spray base, Iyander Darksun, washed with brown ink or wash. then picking out the raised bits with Golden Yellow. Wasn't too bad only a bit too thick.


Attempt 4: Finished this one today. Sprayed Chaos Black. Then many thin coats of Averland Sunset, then many thin coats of Yriel Yellow, then a thin coat of Seraphim Sepia. shade recesses with Agrax Earthshade and then high lighted with Flash Git Yellow.


Attempt 5:[u][b] Finally hit the target. This is the one I shall be using. Skull White spray undercoat, then washed with Casandora Yellow, then highlighted with White Scar, then washed with Lamenters Yellow glaze then re-highlight corners with White Scar.


I have been pulling my hair out to get this perfect. I've finally found a way to paint my favourite chapter with minimal hassle and looks great so I am very pleased. oh and I recently bought a box of Possessed but I shall finish this Marine first.

Not quite as good as you could be, but better than Chaos worshipping :p

I do agree that the 5th is good. Though personally I think attempt 4 looks best.

God I remember trying to paint yellow, your last attempt looks the business! how quick is it to paint that way?

Well there has been a small delay what with work, gym, airsoft and pc games but I have pushed on and finished the first IF Marine. I am so happy the way it's come out. He looks quite clean re-guarding battle damage but I will do that on the next Marine and see which is better and keep doing that. Take a look

This was the first time in years that I used a transfer, hence some damage. I shall try to uses sculpts where possible.
