Gitsplitta: I've been thinking about using hairspray to fixate the powders first. I'll let you know how it turns out after a few experiments!

Finch Claw: if you know a way, sharing it would be nice

moonshine: thank you! The gun uses the grenade-holding had as a base, with gun bits put around it. Quick and easy

Element206: Thanks!

Hey guys,

I's been a bit quiet on the posting front due to work (as always) and the fact that the bits I had finished weren't all that interesting. It doies mean however that now I've got quite some stuff almost ready.

One of the things I've been working on is my second battlewagon, which i got the the 'orange done' part, which is -by far- the most tedious bit. From now on it's adding lots of detailing, graffiti and weathering. At this rate, a month or two .

Here are some pics:

And an idea of what the enemy will be seeing - now imagine five megagrots and the warboss stomping out of this

That is seriously AMAZING!!!!! I love the grot army idea and I love the orange paint jobs. Seriously good.

Have you come to many conclusions on rules yet or are you just using them as orks or are there already rules for grot armies?

Full on, Full on!

Gitsplitta: Thank you! The battlewagon does have an amphibious feel to it; maybe I should add propellers

MajorTom11: Thanks a lot . Both the wife and me have been very busy with our jobs and kid, so... Less modelling time I'm afraid. But we're doing fine

Some_Call_Me_Tim?: It's my favourite grot head for that very reason!

Newt-Of-Death: Thanks, glad you still like the army . For rules they use the ork army book (mainly because I already own an IG army), with ork unit srperesented by grots in suits: the guy on the battlewagon is a counts-as-meganob, and I've got guys in exo suits who count as flamers. There's an army list floating around somewhere in the thread (and in the army lists section, oddly enough ) if you want an idea of what I'm using.

Rose_Mountainz: I'm hard to get rid off . Glad you like it!

moonshine: thanks!

monkeytroll: They insisted

neil101: Thank you!

Now onto some more pics: the battlewagon didn't get much work done, but I did manage to finish of my 2nd killa kan (four more to go - sigh...). Here he is:

Enjoy! Next up will (hopefully) be some more BW pics, maybe a deffkopta, and some regular grots!

Looks great Khaine! Love the little blue flame detail on the gun... those little blue touches really stand out with the orange.

Gitsplitta: thanks! The combination was stolen from George Dellapina's speed freak army, which was featured in and old WD.

Dysartes: Thanks!

moonshine: thanks you!

Arakasi: yep, very orange . And progressing fast is relative: the damn kan had been on my desk for over two monthes, so it was about time I'd finish it...

I've blacked out all the detail on the battlewagon, but since that's not a very interesting stage, I'll be posting pics one the detail is coming together. I managed to finish off a few more grots though, giving me a grand total of 33 painted grots... *le sigh*. Still, most of my 1850 armies only include 60 grots or so, so I'm getting there

Piccies:

The one on the left got a tattoo because I messed up and had a drop of paint fall on his shoulder . I'll be thinning my highlight mix a bit more for the next batch since these came out a tad gritty.

I like the tat... you almost never see people put them on orks. And an old friend of mine who is a master jeweler told me that it's now how well you can make something, it's how well you can turn a screw-up into looking like something that was done on purpose that really separates the pros from talented amateurs.

Love it, although I think your friend is quite the cynic .

Seen some excellent craftsmen in my time, one thing I noticed is real pros don't need to measure anything. Watching a specialised window/glass pane maker take a strip of wood & casually slice it through a few times then rearrange into a perfect octagon with zero gaps and perfect symmetry is reeeaaally impressive.

Though I like your rule too.

Gitsplitta: I think you don't see many tattoos on greenskins becasue a) it adds an additional level of detail when you have to paint a horde and b) it's not always easy to fix skin. I agree with your buddy though, and since I tend to be rather careless, I've gotten quite adept at this

moonshine: thanks! And the green is just abit of flock, it's bene removed after I noticed it on the pic.

Anung Un Rama: thank you! I agree with the assault ramp, it just makes more sense. My legged battlewagon is suitable for transporting grots, but this one really fits the megagrots IMO.

Atre: yes and no . Good craftsmen don't mess up because they are very good at what they do and becaude they know their materials, so they fix the mess-up really well.

Anyway, work on the battlewagon is progressing slowly, I hope to have some more pics up today or tomorrow with most of the detailing done, and then it's graffiti and weatherin' time. Suggestions are welcome as always!

The stompa I intended to build will have to wait some more, since I really want him to walk but can't find a decent robot. Ah well...

Those grots are awesome. THey have true grit! I can see it in their eyes. The mods to the guns look great too.

The details on the kan came out well, too. I like your color choices.

The Good Green: thanks man! As for the colour choices: I went for a dark(ish) effect, really making them pop against the orange; works for every colour except red, but that's for the pansy orks anyway

Boss 'eadbreaka: Thank you!

Now, onto some more WIP pic sof the BW. I'll be doing some touching up now, and then weathering and graffiti-ing the whole thing. Expect some more WIPs as the graffiti progresses

the 'bridge', with roof this time:

The inside is still pretty bland because I need to paint the grots that will go there, but you can just make out the green edge of the radar screen.

And with the unit it will be tansporting; though even with a biggerized BW, they don't fit all in; the classic GW transport problem

An orange horde instead of a green horde .

Let me know what you think!

That is fantastic! Especially the shots with the "cargo".. really brings it together. But I must ask... if there is a radar screen... where is the radar dish??

You could do like a "direct TV" or "Dish" (tm) dish (or sorry, whatever satellite TV providers you have in your next of the woods) attached to the side of the bridge with a couple of wires hanging down and going into the window like a bad home installation!

Gitsplitta: Thank you! You got me with the radar dish, guess I'll have to add one now . Maybe I'll rip off the rearview mirror and add a dish - we'll see! Cabling is a good idea too, I'll see what I can do - nothing says 'greenskin' like some improvised 'improvements'!

Arakasi: Care to put your money where your mouth is? I'll be fighting a friend who said exactly the same thing next Tuesday, so I'll let you know how it went
