Thanks! GS is done on the boys. That armour I had to GS isn't great... I might do a bit more on him. Other than that one they are all ready for primer. Which makes 3 units that are ready for paint: Gutsnik ( KFF Mek), Nobz and Shoota Boyz. SO, expect some primed and base coated minis in the next few days. PS: agreed

Thanks Monkey!
I've already got all three units primed... well, mostly. Some of the bits I left detachable are still waiting for their first coat. I just don't have enough tiny holder things. Some of the arms are temp-glued to sprue for painting, but the ones with pins are harder to deal with. I've only got one pinch holder thingamabob.

SOOooo... just played my first game of 40K It went pretty well.
I had a KFF Mek (Gutsnik) and a Weird Boy for HQs. My 370 point nob squad and a kommando squad with 2 burnas (both of which did absolutely nothing) for elites, and a unit of shoota boyz and grots for troops.
He had Chaos Marines lead by a War Lord and Sorcerer on bikes, with some Havocs and an Obliterator for heavies, and a squad of chaos marines and summoned demons for troops (I think).
Total points (if we both counted right) was 990. We got through two turns before we had to call it due to time of night.
Da Growlaz and da Grotarii really shined in the game, while Batork, the weird boy, was deffinitly the mvp. First shot fired, Batork rolls a 3 on the powers table: S10 melta hits his Warlord right in the face, killing him outright... if we did that right. (S10 vs T5?)
After that, however, the rest of the shooting was abysmal that turn. Also, due to the terrain his havocs had a commanding view of the table so my nobs started behind the only cover I had in my deployment zone (a building in which I hid my KFF). His shooting whittled my troops down a bit, but I made half my saves so I was pretty happy.
Turn 2, we got confused about reserves and deep striking. My kommandos didn't come on, but he summoned those demons. So we figured out where they landed, which was tricky enough that we may have done it wrong, but then it was my turn. My weird boy rolled frazzle this time, but I throw it at the wrong target. The demons were all clumped together, but Batork was still more interested in killing dem mareenz.
Anyhoo, Da Growlaz took the chaos marine squad down to 2 marines with some help from Batork. The rokkit and big shoota did nothing the whole game. The Sorcerer zoomed up and charged the grots which inflicted 2 wounds while taking minimal loses. The grot prod did very little, but I definitely felt the use of that grabba stick.
In the end, I won due to Batork getting 3 points in 1 for making the first kill, killing the warlord and having wiped out the whole unit. We were playing the kill everything mission. Though, he got 1 point for killing the grots. At the end of his assault phase, the sorcerer had taken out enough grots that they needed to LD test and we decided the demons could charge that turn because I had a turn of shooting at them already. So I conceded that the grots would have been overrun, after the demons killed most of the remaining grots and Runtherd.
So... that's a 2 up for Da Ordo Gorkamorka - WWAAAAAAAGGHH!
I'm sure we screwed up the rules all over the place. Not only was it my first game, it was the first game he has played in years and years... so... yeah. But it was a lot of fun, and the way Batork preformed I am very happy with weirdboyz.
Thanks for reading, and I should have a painting progress pic for you soon. Da Growlaz uniforms are almost done.

Yeah, it was quite nice. We took hours longer just looking at each others minis. Reading through the rule book, I've seen some of the mistakes we made. I'm sure there's some I still don't see. That's fine, though. We both had fun playing, and we played at my place, so my Bigtoof terrain got some play. Also, that means I get to make the house rules

Here's a bit of the painting I've down in the last week. It's not much, but I have a good excuse this time: it was so hot the paint was drying up in the blink of an eye! I decided to do more base coating of large areas (and skin) on the shoota boyz, the nob squad, Gutsnik and the half sized Grotarii unit that I finally glued together (no mater how I'll fit a brush in). Anyhow, here's a pic As you can see, I'm keeping up the multi-colored ork skin, but I've limited the color pallet for the grots. The Grotarii are getting straight forward mekanikus costumes, while the nobz are gonna be a bit trickier. I'm planning on doing washes for the fabric and edge highlights for the metal bits.So I'm sticking to washes for now, then I'll switch over and do the metal. Here's another pic to show where the other units are I also stared painting that squib Anyhoo, let me know what you think, if you have any suggestions or comments and thanks for reading.

Been a while since I've updated. Mostly due to slow progress, but I have been working on the boyz still. It's a harder transition for me than I was expecting, switching from modeling to painting. I was trying to do batch painting, but it just wasn't keeping my focus. So I started thinking about it differently and I've been able to paint a bit easier, tho it still turns into a bit of batch painting (which makes me laugh a little). Anyhoo, here's a few shoddy pics so you can see just how slow I've been going. Here's Gutsnik: The green bits of metal are going to get the turquoise treatment and only his skin has any kind of layering at this point Here's where most of da boyz are: but I've started the straps on some of them: again, the green shoulder pads are gonna be turquoise later The nobz have been a bit slower even: Here's were the grotarii are: Also, I haven't given up on the grot platform: OR Lokun... but the pic of him came out so bad... I'll have to retake it and post him later. Mostly, he's just been based. Also, I just picked up a tau piranha, that had been horribly assembled, on the cheap. It'll probably be a kopta... I haven't compared it's size yet to my looted sawfish (which is also still wip ). So- I started prying it apart and cleaning it up right away, and this is how I've reassembled it so far. Just a bit of rehab before I loot it. You know, cause Da Ordo Gorkamorka only uses da best bitz Just wanted to say I was still alive and in the hobby, even if just barely. Seeing all the awesome work that I've been missing out on, here at Dakka, has really set me in the mood lately too. ps: I like the fluff for the planet of Baran, so that'll be the basic fluff for 88 Tanstar moving forward.

Hi everybody. After a long hiatus and a losing fight to finish painting all those green skins, I have returned to modeling. Here are the newly promoted boyz (they're the only ones that made it through field testing the rokkits):
Da squad
Da nob
'is rokkit boyz
Da Runtherd
'is grenadierz
and dis mekboy dat tags along wif extra loud gubinz
The squig'll be eating a few grenades before I'm done with him, and that one grenadier still needs a rokkit pistol, but I'm pretty happy with how the squad came out. I've also started work on a minimal squad of flashgitz.
I need to get a paint station set up proppa or sumfing. I dunno what I'm missing but I hate sloggin through the brush strokes. Guess I should have gotten stuck on an elites army. I think I'm going to do as much modeling as I can before I figure out how to paint the whole army. I've got the color scheme and everything, but I don't have the patients... or the time.
Anyhow, thanks for reading. Let me know what you think.

Really like the deck on top of that one gits back. I have a metal kaptain badruk who is in process of getting mega armor and a wood deck like that atop him, with a pirate ship flat (bosspole) and crows nest/grot gunner. Giving me some inspiration to finish em

Thanks skyfi. I've got to put together a few more of those Grotarii before too long. I don't think I'll get back to my squig cult until the Ordo Gorkamorka is in good standing (but I am looking forward to it). Glad to hear the inspiration is contagious still.
Here's a shot of some flashgitz showing off their dakka.
The one on the left isn't much of a conversion, relly just a bit-swap. They are all still waiting for the doc to finish their gitfindaz, too.
Let me know what you think of their gunz. Also let me know if you think the dual pistols can pass for flashgitz gunz or if I should strap the gun on the floor to his back (or something).

Thanks guys. I'm takin your advise Anvildude and strapping the extra gun to the pistol-gitz back = Moar Dakka! The other two look like their getting grot sidekicks to keep the gunz loaded and an eye on the target. In the mean time, I started working on the grotarii again. Well, I started collecting bits for 'em, but I wasn't really feelin it. So I pulled the one gettin painted out to help inspire and remembered that I had started with the bases. On that note, here's some pics Not much to look at yet, but I thought I'd show I'm still working on the older projects... here and there at least. I also picked this up recently. I mean the trailer. Got the wheels on ebay, found the trailer. Still needs plenty of modding. I've also got Bigtoof set up to get me motivated to finish it. I still need to see if I have any plaster around.

Thanks Gits.
I've got 20 boyz modeled, all but 5 are PIP while the last 5 that I made are still waiting for some glue. No pics yet :( but I'll get some up later on. I'll be working on the remaining 16 grotarii next. I've been working on Bigtoof a bit, too. So I'll showcase the new models in town.
Any suggestions for the semi? It's got so many rivets on it already, I don't really want to cover them up...
I'm thinking about a catwalk on the top of the trailer. Some armour plating on the sides (but how much?) and a ramp and swinging doors in the back. Maybe a boarding plank near the middle of the trailer.
Any thoughts? and thanks for reading.

Catwalk and rails on top would be good. Perhaps you could add some gun emplacements to the sides? I don't think you'd want to cover the whole thing up with armor, but sections here and there would be good, especially near the bottom partially covering the wheels. Depending on if you want to give it some options... you could do some fun, creative things like boarding planks or the swinging ball thingie. You could even open sections of the sides up and expose interior detail (like gunners or occupants).
