Automatically Appended Next Post:

O.K., so... Solar and I got together tonight and played our combined armies vs. a "worst case scenario" Necron and GK army team. I just pulled the 'crons and GK out of what I happened to have lying around between Thing 1's necrons and the GK I bought from BLACKHAND.

Holy crap they were unbeatable! Both practice games were effectively over by turn 2.

OH, and Solar can't roll dice to save his life...

Hey Gitz, think you can post up a full army pic on the first page?

Or if you happen to have a full army picture, could someone direct me to it?

Note: If the adepticon picture is the whole army, then this is irrelevant.
Thanks in advance

Madison, WI.

Me too dajobe, but we had our hands full with what we faced. Played 10 turns against Necrons and 8 of them were played using night fighting rules. Sucked big time.

@Olenos: You mean a complete army to date? I suppose I could arrange that. Or do you want a specific list photographed?

You guys realize I haven't actually painted much in a long, long time right? I've got two mostly finished LS storms and a 5-man assault squad about half done. That's not much to add... but I'll be happy to shoot whatever I've got. At least I have an army-sized light box now.

Moar! Need moar Mantis Warriors

Glory to the Twelfth! Glory to Angron!

‎"Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls. The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does. That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

Ask and ye shall receive. The current status of the "rebuilt" Mantis Warriors as in the thread title. 3974 points... give or take. Call it 4k. This is a very zoomable pic.

Had no idea I'd accomplished this much. Lot's of trade marines and gifts from wonderful dakkanought friends in here. Still a long way to go. Thanks for sticking with me everyone!

Gits, you make me cry both tears of joy, and of sadness. The left one is sad because it knows that we have years of painting before we come close to your skill. And my right is happy because it's my dominant eye, and it loves seeing awesome paintjobs...

Oof thats an impressive sight. How did you go about taking the picture, I had a real issue getting a good picture of mine

How many GMS marines are there in total? I counted about about 19 of them.

That army shot is awesome! there's something great about seeing such a sizable force all together that makes it all worth while! for those given to flights of imagination we can see them all working as a whole, part of an entire company sent to quell an uprising for redemption.

I'm with Jon, been lurking here, but knew that the moment i commented my blackberry will be buzzing forevermore with the new comment notifications, but i'm afraid that pic has forced my hand, it's ok, i'll smother it with a pillow or something... The main aim of this comment was to congratulate you on the general beauty of this project, a true labour of love. ...This aim is now complete, my work here is done.

I read that (I just commented on yours.) I have a 30x30" light box with some big lights on stands. I crammed the whole army in (this is about the last iteration of this army you're going to see with this good a pic), stacked up some boxes in front, put my camera on a tripod with a remote shutter switch on top of the boxes and took the shot. Then I photoshopped out the white parts of the light box that you could see in the pic, cropped it and... viola!

How many GMS marines are there in total? I counted about about 19 of them.

I am one marine short of two full squads. Weetyskemian44's doing the last for me. I have two characters (librarian and captain on the right) that were trades and two of the objective markers feature GMS marines. Two other objectives and at least one of the marines in the GMS squads were gifts. When I get a break I need to build and paint up a couple of inquisition rhino's for them. Have all the stuff, just need the time.

Thanks Peace! Originally, I cut the barrels off of scout sniper rifles, later I just made my own out of brass/copper wire and tubing. Just get them sized approximately the same as the GW sculpts and make sure they slide into one another securely.

@Arakasi: Thank you my friend... so do I. Great work on your warboss by-the-way. Been fun to watch.

@Mechanicum Jon: Thank you Jon. High praise indeed coming from a painter of your character. I'm so glad you posted... I seem to have gotten unsubbed from your DE thread... AH, there it is! Oh man... nice work on the razorwing!

@J-paint: It's always *very* flattering when folks come out of lurker mode because of a pic. Did I ever mention I have a soft spot for Ad Mech? Wow! You mean that was your techmarine that l saw floating around the gallery?? He looks like he's exploding with gear! LOL! Just love him! Subscribedamundo! Anyway, I digress... thanks for your kind comments and thanks for the chuckle. Great way to start the day.
