@hemmis, nerdfest, Reiko,Vit & Dragon Warrior: Thanks mates! Happy New Year to you as well!

Got a little work done on the infantry. GS'd the roundels for their shoulder pads. I always forget to do this and usually don't remember until the figure is nearly completely painted. Turned out fine though so once those are set I can move on to the next step.

Thank you Reiko... I was totally oblivious of that fact!

@monkeyh: Danke. :-)

@Gir: I have it... built and ready for painting. It's just a lower priority as it hasn't made the cut for my Adepticon list.

Are you running an ADL without a gun then?

What are you planning on hiding behind it if so?

My half of the army is more or less as follows:

HQ: stock libby
EL: 5 sternguard, 2 plasma cannons
TP: 10 tac marines, flamer, las cannon, rhino
TP: 10 tac marines, flamer, las cannon, rhino
FA: in flux, but my current idea is 2 land speeders with twin heavy bolters each
Hvy: 5 devs w/ 4 ML

So I potentially have 4 different heavy weapon armed squads (or combat squads) that could take refuge behind the wall... and my partners will all have theirs as well. Play testing has convinced me that the quad gun is just not worth the points in a 1000 point game, but the wall definitely is.

Hey Gitspilitta. Just came across your project and i have to admit im a little sorry that i've only found it now after being part of this site a year. Theres so much good stuff in these pages. I've just spent the last 2 hours or so checking out all the P&M Summeries (a great idea btw) and now i'm gonna try and work my way through (hopefully) all 334 pages of awesomeness. If the words "Epic undertaking" haven't been used already then they should have been and if they have they surely haven't been said enough. Because thats what this project is. The custom Helms and Shoulder pads are a great touch and they are what i think make your Mantis Warriors truely a unique army.

I have been perusing the last few pages and i really like the ADL. The mini posters are a magnificent touch as well. I've just put together a few cardboard building so i may just print some of those wee posters out and stick em on.

Congratz on 10k posts as well.

Hey-ya Snrub! It's never too late to join the party! Welcome aboard! I'm so glad you found the P&M summaries useful. At some point I realized that this monster was just too big to expect anyone to go through from start to finish & I couldn't even find things in it myself anymore. So I started the summaries as a way if indexing the blog. The bat rep links and other short cuts in the OP just came naturally after that.

As you have no doubt discovered, this is an audience participation blog. That's what makes it so great... I don't have to come up with all of the awesomeness myself. Please feel free to comment and contribute as you like. That's what makes it fun (especially for me). There *are* pages and pages of chatting which you can skip through pretty quickly. Hopefully though... enough quality content to keep you interested.

Thanks Snrub & hope you enjoy the unabridged version.

Finally made some progress. Still a number of things to do, but I"m closing in to be sure. Will need to add a few details like purity seals to make them interesting, but that can wait until the end.

Thanks YB. It's interesting to see how far I've come. The first marines I did used an airbrush too, but they're a lot less interesting. When I finish these I'll do a before and after shot to compare the two. My color range has changed/improved & I think my technique has improved as well.

Fun to see those old las cannons again. Not very exciting but nostalgic none-the-less. Those FW marines Nerdy gave me are just spectacular... hard to go wrong there.
