Just want to point out a couple of things... First-off, it's really embarrassing to be making my way "back" onto Dakka and not have anything to post by way of interesting content. Have been trying to actually post something rational on other people's blogs rather than just atta-boys... but it's just not doing it for me.
Second... you guys need to post more battle reports. There just isn't much to choose from. How am I supposed to get cranked up if there's nothing to read!!!

I'll make note to photo capture my next couple of games just for you Gits

I try to post at least a quick summery of all my games in my blog. Of course, I think the last one was early July. So it’s mostly just me slowly putting mediocre paintjobs on marines. And sometimes a good "atta boy" in a blog or a “well done” is enough to help keep someone’s motivation up, so don’t slack off posting those if that’s all you are up to posting.
I’ll try to be more entertaining, but frankly you are better at that then I am.
If only I had: a) learnt to play the game to the point of being able to post entertaining reports, Let alone to actually play the game at all.
b) someone to play with,
c) somewhere to play within 20 miles (that would also accept my less than standard army),
d) at least one HQ for my army of many troops,
e) got around to making some kind of army list for my less that standard army...
...then I would.

I play pretty much once a week, but they're often team games, and if I'm against one of the players in our 'meta' then I'm pretty much in for the roughest no fun game of my life (the guy is a blast to play, but he doesn't know the meaning of a softball list)...
I can try to take reports, but 1) they won't be of fully painted pretty armies, I'm just finding absolutely 0 interest in painting these days, and 2) they might be over by turn 3....

I'd love to do a story driven campaign. Be fun to play with my kids even.... but I've only had 2 games of 7th so there's no way I'm going to be able to referee both their armies and mine along with all the new rules.
The desire to play is definitely back...

Good news that the desire to play is back. Now if only you can find my desire to paint or play rather than coming up with more new ideas for projects...
Here's a thought that I've been nursing for a while... Narrative Archenemies...
A games day where everyone brings a 750 and 1500 point armies... they must be the same faction and must have the same warlord. Then, pick or randomly choose another player to be your Archenemy! 3 out of your 4 games will be against that opponent.
Game 1: 1vs1 with the 750 lists, maybe something like Zone Mortalis
Game 2: 2 vs. 1 (archenemies are on the same side!)
Game 3: Same as game 2, but flipped to everyone gets to team with their archenemy.
Game 4: 1vs1 with the 1500 lists
Optional game 5: 1vs1vs1vs1vs1

That would be fun... though you'd better really enjoy playing your arch-enemy because you'll be stuck playing with them all day! I think that probably would be more appropriate for a local tournament where there's far less $ involved in the event (one of the things I really like about traveling to Adepticon is getting to play a lot of different people & armies). Don't think it would be as fun if I was always with the same opponent (either as an opponent or as a team-mate).

Good to see the spark returning... Have you looked on youtube for miniwagaming.com? as they have run a load of narrative campaigns these past few months.

I do have most games planned up to a sixth set (with an a and b game per set) so if you get through the smaller games let me know and I'll share the things I've put together
I've played about 4-5 1a games and so far there have been upsets, dirty tactics and very thoughtful lists I've played against and its the most fun I've had at a smaller point level.
