Marble tutorial then an awesome tank. It's like none of us can ever leave isn't it?

Predator is ace, Damo! That marble effect is insane on that shield. I liked it on the tiling, but on that shield?! Are you serious? Are you even the same NF09 we knew before? Totally awesome stuff, bud.

Love me some terminators! I've got around 50, plus another 20 GK termis.

I think the tank could have used some smaller chips higher up, but I like it!

I going on 30+ termies not including the 20 Paladins in my GKs! I never used more then 5 and that was only once.

Love the marble effect. You should put it in the Tutorial section so it will be easier to find later.

You got me going on Terrain, That all i've been thinking about. Now I have so Many Ideas, but I dont even have a table or space for terrain.

Thank you all so much for your feedback! really nice to read and made me feel all warm and fuzzy! I have felt like i've done nothing lately and was worried i'd lose my motivation for 40k and painting! but the marble & Tank I did really perked me up and got me inspired again I'm glad you all like the tute! I hope it was easy enough to follow I think I may use the marble on all my storm shields from now on!

BUT!, after my inspiration rush that left me all keen to moisten the 'ol brush! I had to paint more!! so, finished my 3 speeders!

The FleshEaters marines send a Vanguard squadron to scout through a ruined imperial village on the outskirts of Evandalus Prime:



and now the speeders, 3 of them, 2 with assault cannons and one a Typhoon! and one with a rather crack shot pilot!:





Hope you enjoy! took me 6 hours solid to finish them! the last 2 hours took there toll and now i'm exhausted and have a headache! but it's all so, so worth it

Beautiful work on those speeders Nerdy. Really stunning. The gold on the instrument package is both unexpected and very striking.

Holy cow, youre setup is getting pretty high in the awesome category Damo. Not to mention, that LandSpeeder squadron looks the gak! Very dynamic. And did I mention I love Landspeeders? You did them justice

I like the gold accent on them, just a little bit of spot colour which helps tie them all together and gits, if only you knew how funny that comment you made was! trust me, EVERYTHING in Evandalus Prime is always clean and vacuumed I tend to have a slight ocd problem when it comes to cleaning and tidying my home, i simply cannot relax in an untidy house and as a result I vacuum the floor and couches every day as well as washing up and doing the laundry, dusting and general housework before I go to bed each morning so i can sleep fitfully throughout the day knowing the house is clean when i wake I know it's sad but I've always been like it! probably why I don't mess up my models with too much weathering lol!

An army shot is something I need to do as well And yea, I left you a Skype message last week basically saying hi, in a KC kinda way But yea, Speeders are badass models, if I ever did a NON GK army, Id probably spam speeders just because they look so cool. So cool infact, I made 2 Ork buggies from 2 defunked speeders.

Ouch, the Giant had Pneumonia pretty bad last year, and ended up the hospital as well. That sucks! Worst part is, I wouldnt have a CLUE how to contact emergency services for ya if you did keel over.

You don't have children... things will change if you ever have children. My house used to be impeccable. Not so much any more.

I do have kids! just big 'ol furry ones! you haven't met my Big Willy yet have you? I should introduce you! he is a new addition who may become a permanent part of my family my other two get along well with him, Oscar and he are BFF's only problem is Willy likes to play in water! any water, water bowls, baths you name it and if you've ever tried to dry a soaking Samoyed.......

Great work on the marble. Its a really nice way of doing it and seems acheiveable for all without wacky blending nonsense

Thanks flinty I'm actually pleased you said it seems easy enough to reproduce without heaps of advanced techniques, I tend to always preach about finding quick but good looking ways to paint things and I researched marble methods for a while and some were very involved and confusing, this way I think anyone can do as long as they build it up as you go! I am going to do it on 2 marine statues from the honoured imperium kit should look pretty wicked when I do them (have to buy them first )

Ah yes, I guess you now know my inspiration for 'Dog with bolter and shorts' a seminal piece of artwork curators the world over have been squabbling to get the Samoyeds both own Bolters while Oscar is the squads special weapons dog! he prefers a flamer or melta!

the landspeeders lookk really good... the highlights are very good looking...goes to show... AB are one hell of a useful tool... also... gotta ask... that one gunner of these three has a really interesting helmet/visor... what did you do/use for that guy?

@ nOt_u: ep, Big Willy is a damn cheeky boy and gets away with so much because he's such a suck up! that squidgy face and soulful eyes melts even the sternest of Nerdwench's even when he decides to 'dig' in their water bowl and then proceed to dig in the dirt!! have you ever seen a samoyed that looks more like top deck chocolate trying to push his way past you to run indoors??

Well, I have my plans for next week all organized paint wise! I need to finish some Salamander Dev marines for a good mate of mine that have been neglected for a while and I am now getting the spark back for painting! so I'll do some on them and maybe lay some more paint on my Thunderhammer termie squad! Ooooh I can't wait

The speeders need some black areas to break up all the massive red.

The dogs look boring when they are all primed white, try different colours on them or do some quick drybrushing.

The baal pred is really cool but again, to big red mass, needs some black areas and there are big mold lines on the weapon.

I love all the massive red but if i'm going to be self critical i probably would have made the seats a lighter colour to stand out more and i would have painted the rear wall of the cockpit metallic as well, but never the less, I'm not going to worry too much, and the tank maybe could have had a bit of black on the two little hatches on the top but i think that was all it may have needed, I am trusting the bone panels draw the eye instead

the white primed dogs are only just assembled! I haven't thought of a scheme yet but Big Willy has tried to paint himself brown in the backyard looks like i need to strip him and try again! lol

Been away for a while (been swamped with uni work) but dang! This thread keeps getting better mate!

Awesome dude, I've been painting some of the Tiger tonight- I've gone over the original scheme by stippling the colours together. Now I'm applying hundreds of chips ALL OVER the thing just to go over it with AK Interactive washes of goodness... Will probably look gak but meh, here goes nothing!

Loving the tanks btw!
