I have no idea what you should build next, I’m too busy trying to figure out which house I’m moving into on your board. The shear magnitude of the project almost lets me figure where the least traffic would be and where the best shops are .

Amazing project.

Absolutely amazing project. Congratulations on finishing! The scale you worked at also amazes me (I don't know if you want to put in a scale shot with a 40k marine at the end of your pic dump, to remind everyone just how small you were working).

What an amazing diorama. Your take on 30k Terra would be a joy to see (as a IF fan!).

This is a joy to revisit and pore over the details, and I second the call for a scale shot with a SM mini

Oh yeah it was the most fun project I have worked on in ages, will definitely be doing more stuff like this in the future.

Cheers! The Palace of Terra is on my to-do list for sure. I think I might wait until Forgeworld (eventually) publishes their HH campaign book set during the siege. It should provide me with a lot more source material to work with as all I can find atm is a couple of small bits of artwork and not too much else.

What's Next?

I have so many different ideas floating around in my head for what my next major project should be. I have a small Titanicus army that needs painting and probably a box of unpainted minis in a corner somewhere so clearly I don't have enough on my plate already. Also, the longer I wait to decide what to build next, the more ideas I get so I had better move fast!

Option 1 would stay in the 40K universe and would be the polar opposite of my last project, The Fang, mighty fortress citadel of the Space Wolves. My concept of it right now would be a hinged board the could be split open to reveal a detailed interior of the fortress. There is next to no artwork (that I could find with a quick google search) so I would get quite a bit of creative freedom with this one.

While I would like to work on Terra I feel like it is a little too similar to Tizca in that it is an Imperial world covered in pyramids and other similar structures. Once FW gets to the seige of Terra and published a whole bunch of artwork and lore I will probably look into doing it but for now I would like to try something completely different!

Option 2 would be to hop into the world of Star Wars and build one of the iconic cities featured in the movies, my two contenders at the moment are Tipoca City on Kamino or Vader's castle on Mustafar

Option 3 would have me stepping into Age of Sigmar for the first time to build the eight realms! While I am not fully versed in AoS lore, there are some amazing sounding concepts that I would love to try such as amber covered cities, lands in constant flux due to chaos gods, and so much fascinating artwork that I would love to make into models. How I would go about building not just a city, but an entire universe is beyond me at the moment but I think it would be an excellent challenge...

Additional option number 4 is to build a 40K airship at the Titanicus scale. I already have a lot of bits on the way to create this monster so I will probably draw up some concept art for it next week. Not sure if I should go the zepplin route or a more BFG vibe though.

Obviously this is a lot of ideas and I am never going to do all of them due to how time insists on moving forward but I would love to know what you guys think and if you have any more ideas!

Phew, big post, onwards and upwards to the next overly ambitious project!

Wow! Even though I already knew the scale from following the project and looking at previous scale shots, seeing that terminator there still blows my mind

That's a lot of cool ideas you are considering. My vote would be for you to stay in the 40k universe for purely selfish reasons, as that is the universe I find most interesting and play in of the ones mentioned. If you do The Fang, are you planning on mking it in the incrediable miniaturized scale of Tizca, or larger? When you mentioned it, what immediately popped into my head was you crafting a huge craggy mountain face to sit on the end of a 40k/Apocalypse table with the back being kind of like this Necromunda Tower block from some really old White Dwarf article:
Spoiler:

Sounds like you are most interested in figuring out those Age of Sigmar realms, and I have to admit I'm tempted to see your creativity unleashed on something like that. No matter what you decide on, I'm looking forward to it, and I hope you enjoy the process.

Its probably the Star Wars nerd in me, but I'd like to see Tipoca City on Kamino.

Vader's Castle is more visually impressive, but the rest of Mustafar is lacking for detail.

I guess either way it would be cool to see some kind of resin liquid effects done up.

Keep up the amazing work whatever you choose!!

Yeah Kamino would be my top Star Wars pick for sure, given episode 9 however, a crashed Death Star II would be a pretty awesome project as well!

Thanks Dr H and thanks for your tips and tricks along the way!

Another extended break from me I'm afraid and I am off to police academy at the end of this month so will have next to no time for hobby stuff. As such I am taking advantage of these next few weeks to build up some Titanicus stuff I had kicking around.

Previously I had just built the models straight out of the box, followed the instructions and everything! I realized this would not do and proceeded to grab my jeweller's saw and start hacking away.

The first few are pretty simple, just some weapon swaps to give them some more character and stop me going crazy after painting the smae model for the 10th time.

Sir Punchalot here has a couple of power fists and meltas to help him punch through the toughest armour.

This fella here is loosely based off the Knight Preceptor with its huge hi-tech weapon. May have to chop off those rivets as they look a little big atm

And the most knightly knight of them all is equipped with a fancy new sword and shield which I think look great albeit a little impractical should anyone think to bring a gun to the battlefield.

I also have four Lancers to build, I'll probably make two regular ones with the lances as the models look awesome by themselves and the other two will be highly customized at some point.

The trickyest build by far came about when I decided to try and build a Knight Valliant, a slightly bigger version of the regular knight that has not been released in Titanicus scale yet. It took a lot of chopping and my fingers got glued together on many occasions but I am pretty happy with how it turned out. Not a perfect replica of the original of course but I managed to nail its defining features such as the increased height, broader and rounder shoulders, and the shoulder mounted turrets.

I still have a pile more models to work on so expect to see plenty more from me this month!

Cheers Syro, it's gonna be great havign a job that can sustain this ever increasingly more expensice hobby!

I've been chopping and slicing titanicus stuff (and my thumbs) up for the past few days so it was about time I posted some pictures of my progress.

First we have what I am calling the Cerastus Knight Raptor, a faster, more armoured version of the Lancer, pretty happy with how it turned out.

Next up is a weird looking Mechanicus creation primarily designed for hit and run tactics.

It is equipped with two tail mounted stubbers for making a rapid escape.

I also tried to make an Armiger, the little baby knights but I didn't really have the bits to make an accurate depiction of it. That being said it is a pretty cool little model and it was just made out of spare bits so I can't compain too much!

And a scale shot with its bigger brother...

And finally a shot of the big happy family complete with the Porphyrion (fear not, the other one will get some tweaks to it!)

Not sure if I will have time to get the rest of the stuff built before I leave on Sunday but I will try my best!

That Titanicus stuff is brilliant! I've been looking around for a while to see if anyone was actually converting them up, but there was nothing for the longest time. Thanks fellas! Yeah there is very little in the way of Titanicus conversions so I decided to take it upon myself to start the ball rolling!

This will be my last update until the summer rolls round probably as I have now started my police training and will be insanely busy for the nex few months! I managed to whip up one last Knight, this one converted to be an Atropos, fortunately I had some weapons lying around that looked perfect and the rest was pretty simple.

Thanks all for stopping by, I'll be back before you know it!

Thanks Kyoto!

March Break is here so I've been working on some more knight conversions. This time I am working on the more weird and wonderful ones from back before I was born and some others of my own creation.

First up is the Knight Centaur, a four legged knight that uses its increased mobility and speed to deliver devastating lance strikes.

Secondly we have a blast from the past in the form of the MKI Knight Warden. Armed with a single powerful laser cannon, the Warden sacrifices versatility for powerful weaponry that is often reserved for the titan legions.

I took a lot of liberties from the original image to have it share some similarities with current knights but I am really happy with how it turned out!

I am currently in the process of making the other two Warden variants and then I might have a go at making a Knight Baron as seen below.

After that there are some interesting Knight Paladins I would like to try, the one with the legs above the arms looks super weird and tricky to make so I'm looking forward to that!

Any other ideas or wishes for conversions? I have a big bits box and I don't want a single knight to look the same so I'm all ears

Thanks for the words of approval Malika!

Finished work on two more knights, quarrantine is good for my productivity it would seem...

The Knight Warden MKII was a vast departure from its predecessor, abandoning the tracks in favour of a three legged system, with the rear leg only being deployed in a stationary position to aid in firing its gigantic cannons.

When I get my hands on some wire cutters I am going to add some guitar strings to the plasticard on the legs to make them look a little more interesting. Really happy with this model though!

Next up is the Knight Baron. One of the fastest knight variants in production, this chassis allows the Baron to keep up with the household in the modst of battle, directing its troops and laying down fire with a modified battle cannon and using its power lance to devastating effect.

Might work on the missile launcher Warden next and then maybe the weird looking Paladin C from my last post.

After that I discovered some great looking robots from Oldschool Miniatures That I would love to take inpiration off and build something similar. Looks challenging but I think it would be worth the work!

Decided to change up the pace a little and try out a paint scheme for my knights. I opted for a something different and went with a pastel green. It's been a while since I have painted an actual model so it was nice to get back into the swing of things!

Base didn't turn out as well as I would like but I don't really have a clear picture for what I want the knights to be walking through yet. Once I have some terrain I will be able to litter some interesting stuff around them. I am toying with the idea of having them in a flooded city so they would all have a regular rubble covered ruin on the base but a thin layer of water over the top.
