Don't know what exclusive means, but "Limited Edition" in the past has been a temporary status when it comes to GW. It will be limited for as long as they feel like, then it will be re-released as a normal figure...

40K models, soo expensive they are worth bootlegging and smuggling over the border.

Another price hike or two and cartels will start forming to handle the demand for black market 40k models

Just got back from my FLGS and as soon as I walked in I was asked if I wanted them to hold a copy of the limited edition Dark Vengeance "it's nice when they know that you are frothing at the mouth over something before you even enter the store" so yeah I'm really excited now.

Good to know that noone in North America follows the new trade terms. Or are they for Europe only?

the guy who answered had no clue what I was talking about. I said it was the new 40K starter set being released soon, he still had no clue. I think he is the owner as he said his gaming guy is not in and took my info down to be contacted later.

I'm not breaking any trade terms. I'm buying a product and sending it as a gift to a friend. If that friend happens to live down under I can't really control that can I? I also have no idea how you regulate personal transactions between individuals.

Keep in mind that violating trade laws or the rules of a company is probably also against Dakka's rules. Using the forums to break rules is something the moderators might frown upon.

There are no laws being broken by someone buying something for someone else in another country, unless that country has laws against importing that item. GW's trade rules only apply to retailers, not to customers, and enforcing them is GW's business, not ours.


Added to which, so far as I'm aware the current regional embargoes only apply to Europe. US stores can still sell to whoever they want.

Is anyone else excited about the tie-in novel? I'll probably buy that long before I actually get the starter set.

Anybody in the Western New York area looking to pick these up? The plan is simple, we each buy two boxes from a 25% off GW retail online store (I like Miniature Market) for $150 per person. Then trade each other the "army" that we don't want, and bang for $150 we get 4 sets of the miniatures, which would probably be good for a decent sized army.

I'll even let you pick Chaos/Dark Angels! PM me if you live near Buffalo and want in.
