So the bigger terminators are among the rumors circulating about the upcoming C:SM book. I haven't personally seen many rumors about what it could be so I figured I'd throw this out there.

via BoLS -
Regarding the "larger terminators" - these models are described as being similar in aesthetic to the curving shapes of both the Contemptor and Tau Stealth suits. Bigger than current Terminators - but smaller than a Dreadnought.

That sounds a lot like the Furibundus Dreadnought from Epic:

Maybe they'll travel in squads like Kans?

Well, I was basing my theory off of pictures like these:

From what I can tell in the second picture, that's a Deredeo Dread which is just a tiny bit shorter than a Mk.V Dread, but in the first picture the Dread on the right is the Furibundus which is shorter than the Deredeo on the left.

Plus lately GW been digging up old models and redoing them.

I love the current terminator models. I think there are plenty other space marine models that could be updated. Plus why would they change the standard for terminator models when they just redid all the deathwing models for the DA to the current size.

Initial success, or total failure.

The original dreadnought models had two sets of legs that could be packed with them either long legs or short legs. The weapon kit out determined the type of dread involved, not the legs, because a as long as it had the right weapons a deredeo or a furibundus dread could have long or short legs depending on the preference of the player for the model. All those pictures of old style dreads next to new dreads show is that people still use both. I still have one of the original chaos dreads in my slaaneshi chaos marine army, with a twin 1/35 scale .50 machine gun as its weapons instead of the old tiny plasma cannon. Still looks fine next to the troops. I even use an original blood slaughterer robot as a melee kitted dread for my khorne army as well. It is a little small, but I make sure my opponents don't mind before I use it. If they do instead I use my FW world eaters dread instead.

This is just an old rumour reiterated. IIRC it originated with Hastings, but the Space Marine Codex rumour thread is buried in "40k General Discussion".

I hope this isn't true, Space Marines don't need "bigger Terminators"... how would you even justify them? Basically Space Marine Paladins?

There have been rumors floating around forever about "Truescale Marine kits".

Most likely this is a rehash of the "Marines are getting piloted Contemptors" rumor which was mentioned by a Forge World sculptor and nothing has come of it yet.

My money says that we will get normal terminators with some spikey bits to make them look like the followers of chaos. My advice to people would be not to get your hopes up.

Its hard to see any other new modelsfor the vanilla marines than bigger termies. Perhaps some Jet pack termies with more Tau crisis suit inspiration.
With so many separate chapters its hard to make some new shiny PA guys for vanilla. Just look at the new apoc released captains -pretty nice, but noting special really, a curiosity at best.
GW want the new and shiny, as we all know.

Sorry to keep this non rumor going.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

You know, adding new stuff to the Marines could be awesome, but does anyone honestly think it will be? I suspect we're in for another round of Toys'R'Us fodder that adds models for the sake of having NU STUFFZ to sell, rather than any attempt to actually expand the army within the theme.

I really wish the main design studio would go back to just copying FW's stuff in plastic, at least that way the main studio is putting out quality models, and the innovation can be left to FW, who have at least a modicum of respect and enthusiasm for the IP.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

they would retain the standard terminators but then these would be an additional choice, kind of super terminators. Probably 2 wounds, sort of a cross between a mutilator and oblitorator with constant weapons and guns but more than a regular terminator.

Personnaly, actual Termies looks stupid.

Try to imagine the guy in the armor...physically..., be it his shoulders and head or is legs, it would lookd like a Quasimodo clone...

And regular Marines are in the same boat...

The only "decent" termies i've ever seen are GK termies, because the Head is actually above the freakin shoulders..., but they still have chicken legs...

Of course it isn't. That was fairly staple in Rogue Trader/1st edition.

So was polymorphined models in Terminator armour in 2nd edition. That grot? He's really an inquisitor in Terminator armour. With a virus grenade. Deal with it.

Earlier editions are super silly.

I cannot find the thread of the recent GW convention report there were some pictures that had some things that were between the size of a terminator and a dreadnaught.

There have been no pictures of any such thing so far. You might be thinking of the upcoming robots from Forgeworld.
