They should release a new scatter flock called "Dead Cadian". Just a plastic tub of resin dead Cadians that you glue all over your terrain.

To be fair they need to charge by the skull. $1 per skull seems to be the going rate nowdays.

Yeah, no gak. "Tired of your trenchworks being the worst-looking piece of terrain in your collection? Well now you can ruin all of them, for just $50! Of course this is a limited edition run with only 500 available worldwide so act fast or forever lament your terrain's lack of Dead Cadians!"

15 magic beans, that's my offer.

Okay fine, I may consider 20, but no more.

Got a confirmation from GWOZ saying they had received my order. Wrote back saying "Yes, but will I -get- my order?".

I sold my add-on Zombie versions of the survivors for around $150 bucks for 6(?) plastic figures. I threw it up without any reserve or any "buy it now" price so it was what people were willing to pay. I certainly didn't feel bad about the price

You did it right though D-Usa you started it with a modest profit and let supply and demand do the rest.
Starting at $500 seems a little scumbagish to me.

Funny though how you react to this shows if you are addicted or not.Sad thing is I would of paid $200 before I became determined to build a better one of my own.

The only way to setup a best offer option, is with the buy it now higher than you think the item will sell for and let people make offers. I've done this before when you have an item that doesn't have anything else to compare it to and you don't want to risk the straight up auction price or be a dick and end it if you don't like the price or setup a reserve which generally turns off bidders,

Lots of people checking that thing out, it appears, at 49 per hour. My guess is that if someone buys it at that price, it'll be for recasting and selling the copies.

Wow.

It looks neat, by the way. Just not $100 neat. I like the model, and I'd have bought it for considerably less, but I guess I won't get that opportunity.

Look at the collapse of the comic speculation bubble in the 90s, when a.o. Marvel flooded the market with limited editions just before their bankruptcy.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

As the Void Shield Generator is going to be useful, can reach silly money and has been badly mishandled by GW...

How about a sweepstake, sportsmans bet.

When will the first alternate void shield generator hit the market?
Similar scale and purpose model, under any name and from any indie alternate 40K model company, not just Chapterhouse.

Any guesses.

I think they will be in online shops by mid May at latest.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

Depends on when they started building the piece and whether it's a digital sculpt that has to be printed and cleaned vs a hand sculpt that may have to be mailed around via snail mail. My guess someone has had one in development for a few weeks now at least. So on the market by the end of April is not terribly far fetched.

If I had access to a laser cutter, I'd have had one out by the time GW's went on sale... but Alas!

A bit of brilliant marketing, in a way. "Here's a thing you can't buy anymore, and we're telling you about it for the first time now!"

So now retailers (GW stores) are getting some?

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

I would suspect that it's more accurately that they had stock on the way to stores already.

It appears to be not just GW stores. Milsims here in Oz had it up for preorder yesterday as well.

What BS. It's hilarious how people slag off a company for ripping them off .... then support other people who are essentially selling stolen stuff.

I wonder what the tooling cost to run up 1,000?

The limited edition, sold-out-before-you-saw-it release is an interesting comeback to the Chapterhouse saga. I guess a model only has to be sold for 1 day, in order for it to be protected.
