Great work as ever youwashock!
Hannah is looking good and so are all the drawings.

Thanks, guys.

Been spending some of the time I should be using on the Champ to tinker with Maugan Ra. Stubborn mini. Gotta love the way GW cuts their models these days.

Made it this far on the arm repositioning. Had to cut off all the annoying struts and set them aside. Especially frustrating because they will certainly be mostly covered by the shoulder pads. Works from this angle, but things got pretty mangled getting to this point. Putty to be applied.

New head at it's most raw state. Would it have killed them to cast the head as a separate piece? Putty scheduled here, as well.

Labor of love. Also painting the Champ, but no pics yet. Thanks for looking!

That was not a problem with the old metal models...just flash.

My two cents,

The Champ is starting to look good youwashock! The hack and slash job on Maugan is coming on nicely too

Thanks for sharing the experience with Maugaun Ra assembly, it seems sometimes like you have to build the character just to cut them up! But at least plastic can be more forgiving (when I was maybe 14 I almost cut my finger off converting Helbrecht as a gift for my brother). Looking forward to seeing his new look.

My painting log is full of snakes

Thanks you two.

And yes, modern figures require pre-disassembly assembly.

More progress.

Why does that pose make me think of something painted on the cover of a John Norman novel? Except the Space Marine is wearing too much armor.

Cheers,

Thanks, Viterbi.

If that's what you're seeing, Cap'n, I have succeeded in my attempt.

Marcaeus Gartan, Emperor's Champion.

All in all, I feel it worked out pretty well. Fun model to work on. Now back to Maugan Ra and the Exodite wraiths.

Thanks for looking!

Very cool Champion youwashock! That sword is awesome, the mix of purple and blue lighting is great.

Can’t wait to see Maugan and more wraiths!

Great work on the Emperor's Champion, a fine addition to this month's painting challenge. Are you planning on entering more of them?

That powersword is fantastic, love the eyes on the backpack birds, very gothic.

The skin on the woman looks nice (that makes me sound like a murderer ) great use of the red to mottle the skin.

One and a half feet in the hobby

Thank you very much, everyone! I am glad you like them.

I don't know, Maharg. Maugan Ra fits the Reborn part of this month's theme pretty well, but I am having trouble finding time to work on stuff so far in April. I guess if I can get the build done and think I can get him done on time.

Slowly making progress on Maugan Ra. Eyes in place.

Also on the shoulders to reference the original model a little more.

Head will be getting some hoses and then it will almost be time to prime.

Thank you. They do look pretty glowy in those pics, but it is just plastic and green stuff so far.

Love the Emperor's Champion, glorious take on the miniature.

What is the conversion on Maugan Ra's head based upon? looks great though. Something about the sculpted head on the miniature just looks off to me.

Many thanks, ListenToMeWarriors. Maugan's new head is a Death Jester mask on a masked Wych head plus green stuff. There will be some hoses added and a gem in the forehead setting, as well.

Head is done.

Just need to fit the shoulder pads over the reinstalled struts, I think.

Thanks for looking!
