You aren't wrong, Cap'n. Here's hoping I am up to the challenge.

Thanks, DJ!

Been working. Fire elemental should be done in time for the challenge. Also this happened:

Spartan to go with the Sicaran. Turned out pretty well, I think. Now to dig it out of the supports and think about when it will get painted.

Speaking of getting painted.

The Gwenoms are on deck.

Thanks for looking!

Great pistol! I always loved how the line between traitor and hero of the imperium is such a thin one and that purity seal could easily fall away from the emperors light with one or two changes

That bolt pistol is rocking! Nice one.
This second tank doesn't look quite as edible as the first which is probably a good thing..

I'm not sure what a gwenom is but I figure it's not something I want to chance upon down a dark alley! Good luck with all the painting!

Thanks, gobert, Olthannon!

Gwenom is Spider-Gwen with a Venom symbiote.

Wrapped up the challenge mini. Fire Elemental from Confrontation. Always happy to get another Rackham mini on the painted shelf.

Also painted this guy:

So, short-time readers may have noticed that I call the no-name Mandos Randolorians. I did this in front of a friend and he says, "you know what you gotta do: Landolorian." The rest is history. Fun mini.

Looks like this month was a blue period. Still cracking away on other stuff. Always plenty to do. Thanks for looking!

The discoloration (oxidation?) on the talons is lovely. I can never seem to pull that off. What was your technique?

Now showing various models from the previously adandoned projects!

Painting total as of 3429/2024: 56 plus a Deva King statue
Painting total as of 12/31/2024: 107 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain and two walkers and a quad mech and five giants

Thank you!

The heat stress is done with old Citadel inks. Purple, blue and a mix of brown and yellow. Thin them a bit and layer to get the transition. Hit the farthest part of the blue with Nuln Oil and a bit of grey for extra charring.

You make it sound so easy. I'll have to give it a try if/when I paint something that would have heat stress. I've been in a long-term fantasy kick, so it may be time to switch to SF...

Very nice work. You don’t see a lot of armored elementals. I struggle with heat stress myself, and have tried it a few times. I should do it for this month’s flamer for my entry.

Lando works. When I saw the pic my first thought was “Is that Lando as a Mandolorian?” and didn’t get the pun until I read the text. Suitably nerdy Dad Joke. I approve.

I like your Landolorian I thought that looked like Lando and then read the description.

Thanks, guys! Your comments are much appreciated.

Sun's Out, Guns Out mini primed.

3D printed Leviathan. Curious how it will look once painted.

Thanks for looking!

Lando!

Like the discolouration on the Fire Elemental's claws.

Lovely work on the elemental, the cold fire is great! Landolorian is a great addition to the Randolorian horde

The fire elemental is really well painted, as is the star wars guy. Looking forward to seeing you paint up the dread.

Thank you, everyone!

A little progress on the Leviathan.

And I wrapped up the smaller Gwenom print. Put her on a Crisis Protocol base.

Turned out OK. She's a little big for a Venom proxy, but maybe not TOO big. The odds of it being an issue are low.

Work continues. Thanks for looking!

Gwenom turned out great! I love the paint style you do on the marvel stuff, looks so cool! Also you seem to have printer dialled in and any smoothing seems to be working great on your prints too

Awesome work there, the tongue is very well done, as is the goo. How did you get the glossy effect?

Great job on the Gwenom, struck by the smooth blending on her eyes - very clean, creepy whites. Her chompers look fierce as well.

My painting log is full of snakes

Thank you, everybody!

gobert, this one is a resin print done by a friend. That probably accounts for the smoother finish.

Olthannon, the gloss is just a coat of gloss medium (I am still going through my bottle of Future) applied after the matte coat.

Boss Salvage, the file is available for free from...Cults, I think.

Progress on the challenge Leviathan. Just need to finish the weapons and base. Figure I should be able to get it done in time.

In the meantime I finished up Godzilla. I am a big fan of the modern chonk version.

Plenty happening. Need to get the Dread done, have more beskar-gam in the works, plus some other random minis. Currently thinking I will paint the bigger Gwen for October's challenge. She's Halloween material, and still just primed.

Thanks for the comments and thanks for looking!

Not that I need more models, but got my hands on this guy.

Too good a deal to pass up. Ambull and Amallyn will most likely end up with the Exodites. The rest will be good to have on hand just because they are great minis.

Dread is coming along nicely, good luck getting to the finish line. Godzilla turned out great too, no noticeable print artefacts to my eyes!

The BSF/Space Marines mashup in that box is pretty cool. Amallyn and momma Ambull will make great additions to the Exodites.

Excellent work on Godzilla, the lightning effect looks grand.

The dread is looking excellent, it's a nice colour scheme.

Love a chonky Zilla! The glow effects on his spines are ace, I like the colors on the base too - a nice contrast to the big lizard but not distracting.

Thank you, thank you!

Leviathan Dreadnought for the monthly challenge. 3D printed with a few embellishments. Like the head, which didn't print well and wasn't terribly interesting to begin with.

Bannon Ultas of the Angels of Truth. A Techmarine who also served in the Deathwatch, who the Angels have close ties to. Fell in the battle of Ragallun XIII. Ran into a wrecked Land Raider and brought the weapons systems back online to cover a strategic retreat. When the position was eventually retaken, his broken body was found with his hand still on the firing panel. Interred in a Dreadnought, he continues to watch over his brothers and his armored shell serves to memorialize his varied service record.

And with alternate guns out.

Brothers in Iron.

And with a few more Imperial friends.

For the Emperor.

Always more on the go. Gwenom is ready for Halloween. Thanks for looking!
