Love it!

I'm wondering what to do, as I'm going to be not so much down on time, as energy. Might drop down to one figure and see how simple but neat I can do.

Howdy Paradigm/Painting Compo regulars. I failed miserably last time i entered, will attempt something easier this time. I entered a Space Marine last time and forgot how much i struggle to paint them, so i'll try this cheeky fella.

Proof Picture

I really love the ungor models they're like fantasy yobbos.

Hopefully a finished picture in the near future

HI all,

Finished!

The following are photos of Kvalm Konelig, Demon Prince of Nurgle and leader of the Sons of Pus.
It's the Plastic Demon Prince with a bit of greenstuff.

It went a bit faster than I expected. Now it's time to get ready for MechaniCon GT and watch this month's entries come in.

Be well and take care

Oh wow, that is so gross and so amazing.
Bloody well done!

And loving the ungor, don't see enough of them by far.

Thanks, had an idea how i could make it a diorama of sorts but i'm not sure if it's too ambitious for a lapsed hobbyist looking to get back into some modelling.

That fleshy flail-fist thing is utterly revolting Albinoork, in a good way haha. Really love the tone you've got on the purple wing tissue also. Looks like papery moth wings, has an almost translucent quality to it as well.

Eyyyyyyyy!
So I started brassing it up! I'll need to touch up, well, everything. WOW I'm procrastinating...

So next, I think I need to touch up the skin and then, after finishing the brass lining, fix up the black cloak. Probably the armor after that...

Everyone's work is looking awesome! Good to see a few old names popping back in, and Albinoork, that guy is utterly fantastic! Although I can't help but think the base looks like a single-serving cheesecake that's gone very, very badly off!

Still waiting on my minis, hopefully they'll turn up today.

Tried my hand at OSL for the librarian so it doesnt look like he is holding a green vine in his hand , plus I dry brushed the outer edges with a new color to help make it look more flame like.

That turned out well. It's really easy to over-do OSL & I think the subtle approach you took works better.

Here is a proof pic for my Chosen squad that may accompany Cypher:

If I get stuck while painting these, they will not be included in my final pics. As for Cypher himself, he is almost done, just a few more highlights to go!

@Paradigm: Just to be perfectly clear, this proof does not replace the proof I put up earlier of Cypher. This just shows that I am starting the Chosen fresh. Also, I realize that in total there are six models (Cypher and five chosen). Does that mean that I have to leave out one guy in my final pics (in which case I will include the four Chosen that turn out the best)?

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Updated progress. I've got the jump pack to finish and attach and the mini will be finished up. Nothing as extravagant as some entries, but I'm happy with the aggressive pose.

Hopefully you guys like. Thanks for looking.

Finished pictures will be posted shortly I hope. Take it easy.

A squad of 10 of these guys is going to SUCK to paint. I forgot how much I dislike painting black.

Jump Pack is now in progress. Should have this guy finished up in short order I hope.

Thanks for the kind words also! Much obliged.

Some interesting entries so far.

Sorry I'm bit late to the party with the proof pic.

I've been working 12 - 14 hours days the last week so not had much time to do anything but work and sleep.

Here is my proof, its going to be Orks in Trick or Treating Costumes.

And a few more angles for any interested in seeing them:

Good luck to everyone! I look forward to seeing all the completed entries. Thanks for looking and take it easy for now.

He looks great! You should sneak a little OSL into the jets of that jump pack.

Thanks buttery. I went with a darker shade to try and differentiate them from the rest of my Blood Angels army which has lighter, brighter red gems instead (With a few exceptions, where I've done a polished onyx/obsidian style gem on a few models here and there)

Glad you like him. Death Company are awesome minis (especially with the new Death Company box with all the bits!) but Man is black a royal PITA to make look good. I'm still not 100% happy with my shading on the black here, but it's as good as I can get it.

Hopefully I'll get a vote or two at least heh

Take it easy for now.

Truth be told, I SUCK at OSL, and have only really attempted it twice. I was happy with the first attempt, and not so much with the second. I may try later, but at this point, I'm going to just go without instead of taking a model I'm happy with and cocking it up six ways from Sunday trying to accomplish an effect I'm not really confident I can use competently.

C'est la vie. Thanks for the feedback also Gitsplitta, I'm happy you like him.

Take it easy.

Thanks man! I am wondering what color to paint the force blade though. Obviously blue and green are out, unless I do a very light blue or blue grey. Does anyone have any suggestions?

@Ustrello, A magma look to it might set things off nicely, you've already got a couple of Red Accents so it shouldn't upset the balance.

I just thought i'd show the subtle conversion work i've done, the Ungor set is not that well known so it may not be obvious. Of course the fact (i think) i've done a decent job and want to make sure it's recognised might be another motive

Also some Wip painting

Hm that is a good idea on the magma perkustin! That would be what dark red to orange to yellow on the top of the edges right?

Something akin to this? I'm not sure i love the black but the red lightning effect is what i envision, Perhaps on a dark red background? A green Blade with green -> Yellow -> White lightning might also work, especially alongside the flames.

I got some work done on my models. I am off from work on Wednesday and Thursday so I am going to try to finish them on those days. Worst case scenario I'm on vacation next week and I plan on finishing the whole army anyway so they will be done then.
