Apologies if this was posted before, does anyone know if the Ork Burnas are still D3 hits, or did they get changed to D6 like everyone else's flamers?

Pre-orders go up at 1 Eastern, 12 Central, 11 Mountain and 10 Pacific.

Ok Ork players what do you think. Since in regular 40k Kommandos can take Burnas, and in this list Kommandos are cheaper than Burna Boyz, do you think they messed up and let you upgrade to a model with a Burna for cheaper than if you just bought the Burna Boy?

The old box was a pretty steep discount over the individual buildings.

I'm not too bothered about the cost TBH, as long as I can get a consolidated box set with more walls and less ruins sprues. If I can't I'll just buy the smaller boxes.

We'll probably get a big old terrain boxed set around Christmas, or maybe they'll put out the terrain and mat from the starter up for sale on their own somewhere down the line.

Ordered mine already. After playtesting I can say that plasma gun on sniper specialist is a blast. Also level 0 specialist only in matched is not so bad. Terrain is great amd so much of it that You dont need to use all to have lot of los blocking and cover on the field.

1 vs 1 with reading rules took almost 1 hr so it is fast and very fun to play

I think you grossly underestimate how tough vehicles are in this edition.

At BS3+ with no modifiers to have a 75% chance of killing a dread you need:
12 krak missile shots (76.6%)
6 short range melta shots (75.9%)
13 overcharged plasmagun shots (77.1%)

The moment you introduce a unit like that melta and plasma are the only weapons worth taking and you have to be spamming them. 4 or 5 really is the useful minimum and you really want more than that. Any faction that can't take that many might as well not bother.

Not a good change.

Terminators have a much smaller impact (although they still drive the emphasis hard to special weapons) - two rapid firing over charged plasmaguns have an 84% chance of doing 2 wounds and a 46% chance of doing 4. 2 short range meltaguns have a 59% chance of doing 2 wounds and a 49% chance of doing 4. That's not great. 20 bolter shots has a 31% chance of doing 2 wounds and a 32% chance of doing nothing...

Also not a good change albeit not nearly as catastrophic as vehicles.

Oh well, maybe it would be possible to do a one-off mission as a sort of "Kill the Beast" - especially when facing off against, say a Carnifex.

I'd really like to get into this - my son and I had great fun with Shadow War, but it just feels like ruleswise I'd be rebuying stuff I already have. I'll probably buy the rulebook somewhere down the line, but I've definitely got more than enough models already.

And the scenery really doesn't seem like a money-well-spent sort of purchase :( .

- 13 Tactics cards and 2 Mission cards: the Tactics cards are split between the 6 Adeptus Astartes Tactics taken from the Kill Team Core Manual and 6 Adeptus Astartes Tactics exclusive to this set, giving you new ways to play with your Adeptus Astartes kill team. Also included is a Tactics card for the Alchomite Stack, providing rules for incorporating this into your games. The 2 Mission cards are split between 1 Matched Play and 1 Narrative Play

IMO this makes Kill Teams another LCG like Shadespire or X-Wing. Am I reading this wrong?

True, however......pause and reflect. Simply compile a list of the tactics once they are released and print your own "SUPER SPECIAL Faction's tactics handy dandy quick reference page. And, one double sided page will be easier to reference than 10-12 cards cards anyway. AMIRITE?!

I was a bit disappointed with the value of the squad box, like fangs of ulrich (37 pounds) while not very expensive it is not a bargain neither, the five reivers costing 20 pounds. Interestingly enough, you cannot buy 5 man strong squad of any primaris like before... Though ?

Yes it looks like some tactics will be published only in the expansion boxes.

So the book shows AM having 4 "in-book" tactics but they have 10 Tactics cards in the big starter box. GSC have 6 in book but 12 tactics cards in box.

Do we have summaries/images of the "exclusive" AM and GSC tactics cards available in the boxed set, yet?

I'd like to see those.

So what do yall think will be in the inevitable expansion 3-6 months from now? Im thinking marines will get primaris aggressors and thunderwolf cav, but I'm not sure about any other factions.
