By which he means, a couple of joking remarks about their release being at 23:59 on December 31st

I thought it was supposed to be Sisters players who're bitter complaining misanthropes? TBH all the complaining I see is coming from folk who're upset they won't be able to take the piss any more

There was literally a guy who said it would be right near the end of 8th, and he wont believe it until he swipes his amex. Went back and looked, might have been edited out,

Theres also Melissa, lol.

The round turrets are reallly bad i think and off-putting for the whole thing, along with the weird round senor dome/camera things for the front body weapons!

Like the knew legs/knee armour section though

Don't worry about your orks. They likely will be coming in 4 months or so. Likely with a big release, 2 or three new kits plus characters. my guesses: deathcoptas, buggies, grazgul.

Very happy for Sisters players, it's not my army and won't be (I don't have the modeling chops to convert Sisters of Change, which is the only way I'd run the army) but it's awesome to see them get support.

Weird though this may be, what really has me interested personally is the Shadespire card hint... I said when they announced the last two warbands to call me when they do a Nighthaunts warband, and it looks like I might get my wish! Guess that means I have to get into the game.

This would be awesome but why do you think we'll get new kits? I can see a rushed, codex only steaming pile of gak getting delivered.

The White Dwarf preview on the Warhammer Community page features Orks in a battle report. There's Deffkoptas in the top right corner, along with what looks like a large walker. It's got a similar silhouette to a Knight, but looks like it might have been ork-ified. I don't recognise it, so it might be a hint of something new to come.

Those are some impressive leaps there...

Likely 1) no as it's made by a different team , 2) no impact as it's made by a different team

Wait, Last Stand at Glazer's Creek II? That... sounds odd

The news is really interesting. On first impressions:
* The sea-elves are lovely models. Although they don't attract me as an army, I'm glad to see unusual stuff like this come out, and so beautifully designed.
* The new Knight looks cool; my main hope is that the legs aren't locked in one pose.
* The exclusive Primaris preview has a great pose; I'm slightly disappointed that it's exclusive.
* Sisters of Battle news is welcome, and I'm pleased for those who've 'kept the faith'. I hope the models live up to the hype.

GW tends to hide things in plain sight occasionally. Things that look like nothing turn out to be new releases or prototypes of new releases previewed long before they ever come out.

Everyone's talking about plastic Sisters, mega-Knights and Derp Elves, but there's one picture among all of this that people skipped over. I mean, it's them talking about White Dwarf, so really who cares?

But maybe we should. Here's the pic:

Anyone notice something to the far right there? Here's a terrible close up:

What are those? Could they be the new Deffkopta, coming with a new Ork Codex? That yellow one is very "studio army yellow" IMO. What about the walky thing to the left of them?

Now, the Guard force in the battle report is a highly converted army, so this may well be a converted Ork army as well, but consider for a moment that it might not be.

Are those real?

Well that is all very interesting!
Most interested in the prospect of new Death stuff- thats definitely a black coach.
The Deepkin look like a cool faction, not for me [fortunately!] but I like the heroes and the turtle- the armed octopus is my favourite. Would love to get some of the fish elements to add to my Kharadron bases.
Great to see how GW has responded to the community and is so transparent about bringing the Sisters of Battle back [surely they would have done some work on them already if they are coming next year- it takes at least 1.5 years for a plastic release?].

The big question is of course when are the Squats coming back...

I'm crossing my fat Orky fingers but it seems to me that they could both be conversion models. We'll need to see a better quality picture to be honest but the walker thing in particular looks to me like a conversion of the AOS Warboss mixed with other kits.

I don't know, I'm hoping big time for new models but my gut is saying we aint got a snowball's chance.

Did anyone ask - if questions were allowed - whether this Warhammer Legends thing was AoS only, or if old 40k characters would be brought back that way too?

@Irbis - Given two out of three announced Codexes were Imperial, I can kinda understand it. Not sure why people are saying "Nothing but Imperials" for 40k when there is a Harlequin book, though, unless the Harlies finally saw sense and started to work for the Emperor...

I don’t think people factor in non-40k stuff when saying the 40k release is mostly/all-Imperial.

I think it’s more about model releases. Obviously all the codices are going to be updated (with their previous cover art no less), but Xenos models are few and far in between.

Edit: This might be a beneficial point for AOS. The range diversity there seems to be growing more significantly even with the continuous release of the Golden Bois.

Correct - people are talking about model releases and 40k only. There's no point mentioning "Imperial" with regards to AOS since they don't exist in that setting.

New models or model options announced as follows (for 40k only);

Knights
Deathwatch
SOB

All Imperium, as is so often the case. What new models have xenos players had to tide them over? A Necron Cryptek? Is that it?!

Here's the codex releases (not in the correct order) so far and whether they came with new models or not;

Space Marines - Primaris figures, tons
CSM - No new models
Grey Knights - No new models
Ad Mech - No new models with release but Mini Knight later
Death Guard - Tons of stuff, Mortation
Eldar - No new models, old releases rehashed
Tyranids - No new models
Imperial Guard - SLY FETHIN MARBO
Daemons - Lots of new Nurgle goodies
Blood Angels - Primaris
Dark Angels - Primaris
Custodes - Tons of stuff, most of the line
Thousand Sons - Tzaangors, kinda, Mutalith Vortex 'I feel sick' beastie kinda
Tau - No new models
Necrons - Cryptek wooooo!

I've misaligned the xenos codexes for easy viewing E - it didn't work.

This doesn't paint a pretty picture if you're a xenos only player. I don't think its any wonder people are starting to lose patience.

GW is a model company.

Since the release of 8th edition, how many xenos models have been released, and how many xenos models have been shown in previews?

-Necron Cryptek on canoptek surfboard

Since the release of 8th edition, how many imperial models have been released, and how many imperial models have been shown in previews?

-Adeptus Custodes, entirely new codex
-Primaris Marines, entirely new model range
-2 new imperial knight superheavy-sized kits
-Blood angels special primaris character
-Dark Angels special primaris character
-Inquisitor Eisenhorn, special Inquisition character
-Sly Marbo, special guard character
-Necromunda, entirely new model range in its own separate game about imperial gang members

Just so the record is straight here. Even if we don't count Necromunda, we've seen two entirely new imperial model ranges - one pretty much a new army (primaris) one a mini-faction (Custodes). On the Xenos front, we've got all but 2 xenos codexes announced and one single model released or announced for any of them.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

It's almost as if I was obviously referring to a whole different game system or something.

If you're seriously going to use "b-b-but there was Age of Sigmar stuff!" into an argument about there being far too many Imperial releases, then I'd say you're really stretching for a defence.

The original Last Stand at Glazer's Creek was one of my favorite printed battle reports, outlining that kind of narrative scenario that was still the norm back in Rogue Trader and slowly took the backseat to tournament-style formalized play. I hope the sequel does it justice and isn't just a straight-up 1850 per side affair.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

This 10000%. I forgot about Eisenbro. Good catch. It looks even worse when you add the Chaos releases.

Xenos might as well not be in the game at the moment, the focus of GW is clearly elsewhere.
