I love the colour scheme, this would work great as the inside of an Imperial spacestation/battleship for kill team or zone mortalis games

Thanks! Simple yet effective. I had noticed a difference between the Mechanicus Standard Grey spray and pot, but hadn't taken the time to articulate it...

Very nice work on the terrain and I may steal your recipe for some of it, have the Zone Mortalis box still lying around. It looks really great, love the terminals on the other page, really lots of attention to detail!

Hey, stairs are important. It gets tiring fast when it's only ladders you're hauling your archeotech up.
And those are some nice looking stairs.

Cool little terrain setup, gotta be proud of that! The enforcers really are cool looking, can’t blame you for letting them jumpy the queue!

Cheers chaps, tiny update for today.
So I have made a start on the Enforcers. I always paint one up as a test model to decide on colours etc and then realised why I was going to do Goliaths first...
I don't have all the paints I need for painting black.... doh! So I just paid a fortune on ebay for the colours I need so hopefully judging by the extortionate postage rates they should arrive tomorrow....
I also made a start on their bases.
The Enforcer test model is my first ever attempt using contrast paints. I absolutely hate painting black and would never do it for an army but for a dozen or so models for Necromunda I don't mind. But as I don't often paint black (probably why I didn't have enough paints...) I thought I'd try out Black Templar.
I did some fairly unconventional stuff though, lol. I actually painted and highlighted the cloth parts before applying the Black Templar. You can't really see them that well in the photo but this then gives me a guide to highlight up from now.
The cloth bits need highlighting up using Skavenblight Dinge and Stormvermin Fur (2 of the paints on order)
The armour areas look messy now but they have just had a sketch in of Dark Reaper. This will glazed down with Corvus Black and then highlights of Thunderhawk Blue and Russ Grey (the other 2 paints on order...).
But for a test piece it's coming along better than expected and the contrast paint made life easier. I just wish it would stop rubbing off the model.......

Cheers chaps, I think Averland Sunset might be my new favorite colour.
Some slightly better photos.
Frustratingly still waiting for paints to arrive so I made a start on another Enforcer and tried out an idea on the wrist mounted screen, It's supposed to be an ECG monitor, similar to Tempestus Scions. A bit messy but hopefully be able to get it neater next time and then if it's not too much of a pain will go back and tidy this one up.
I really, really want to get the black finished on the test model to see if the recipe works but you can see better in the photos how much of a difference using contrast paints has made.
Although they're a bit messy you can see where the highlights will eventually go.
If the paints arrive tomorrow I should have 5 of these completed before the weekend which means I can start of the Subjugators.

The stripes are freehanded but the other kneepad and chest are decals.

Fantastic work so far on the enforcers, and the scenery looks really top-notch. I love that you have kept the flexibility in there, and I will have to try and make the same thing happen with my set when I finally get around to it.
Really interesting to see the thought process and step-by-step on the black and elsewhere.

Cheers IGtR=
Well my paints finally arrived!! Considering the paints were £12 and the postage was £14 I should think so too..... never using Ebay again...
So I have tried out the recipe I had in mind and have applied highlights to the black areas on the test model:
I'm happy with the black cloth and will use that. The contrast paint really, really helped with this.
I'm not 100% sold on the black armour though. Admittedly it isn't helped by the model having rivets in the most annoying places, lol. I will wait to see what it looks like with the rest done though but right now it looks more blue than black. I guess as these guys are sort of police that doesn't really matter too much but isn't the look I was going for.
I might redo it with a grey recipe but I wanted the carapace armour to stand out from the other black leather.
Thoughts?

I like the blue look as it helps differentiate armour from cloth - but it's not what you were after, and it is definitely more blue than black.
Not sure if a black glaze might bring it back a bit, or just make it dirty. It's probably worth trying a grey recipe to see how that looks - maybe a more extreme highlight on the armour, bringing the very highest points to white? That should stand out from the softer highlights on the clorth.

Cheers Monkeytroll. I tried a grey black on another model but didn't like it as much and the blue black has grown on me now.
That meant I had another model to see if I could replicate the test model on and so far the recipe is working so will start batch painting from tomorrow.
I also really need to get the heads done so I can attach them.... the little necks look weird..... lol.

That just confirms it . As for the blue/black - I can only recommend not shading the black at all and only doing the edge highlighting (this may actually be the case, I can't absolutely confirm it from the photos), edge highlighting as thin as possible, and perhaps using a darker blue for the majority of the edge highlights and only lighter at the very raised areas/points. But I'm not sure how good that advice is - the only reason I could think to suggest thinner edge highlights is because the images are so large. Shrunk down to model size, well - I can't apply edge highlights as thin and neat as you do .

Cheers Arakasi, I'm running with the blue now.
Not as much work done as I had hoped, sadly work kicked up a notch in the last couple of weeks which has meant I didn't get as much time to paint.
The first 5 Enforcers are almost done though, feel like I rushed them a bit today but I am also conscious I have another set of terrain to paint and a lot more gangs, lol.
Once the 5 Enforcers are finished, which I'm hoping will be tomorrow, I will make a start on the 6 Subjugators and then should have enough to play a game (whenever that might be....)
Quick taster, not 100% with the heads but they'll do for now.

Great job on the enforcers, their screens are particularly impressive. The subtle glow on their shoulder torches are nice too. I hope the yellows arrive soon so you can get the force all finished off!
