Looking really good! The paint scheme is really bold and works so much better than I originally thought it would!

Did you find the venoms a pain to put together? I nearly lost my sanity trying to get the driver to fit etc.

Also, why the change of heart on the Scourge wings? Thinking of picking some up too, so I'll see about a trade after I've decided what to go for etc.

Rinky Dink mine went together a dream... probably because I didn't bother with the driver to save time.
The only issue I've had is the glue bond isn't so strong for the second venom with the blue rails because I pre sprayed them to have two base colours and save more time.

The change to wanting batwings was niggling me for a few days... I've been chewing it over;
1) I want to have the squad wings matching... not half half (if i don't get a trade I'll split the squads by wing type feathered and batwing)
2) someone mentioned batwings would suit this armies BatMan comic book heritage better.

I'm happy with the venoms, the colour scheme stays true to the infantry and scaled well.
Blue stayed secondary and green is still a cool popping spot colour.
Thinking I might get 2 more and have 3 for true born and 2 for warriors (troops)...
The force will still look like lightning fast raiders (even by DE standards!) but I might be getting away from the hellion aspect I wanted to keep true to!

Here's what I gots done so far... doesn't look like alot but It's getting there.


Also Now that there some purple vehicles are in the army does this change anyones opinions on the skyboards being the same colour as the riders?


So next up is the HQ and then either more Trueborn or Scourges...

Oh and mentioning Scourges I've changed my mind. I think Batwngs will suit this army better

you should see the ammount of flash and bubbles I got on the Tru-Cast blasters.
Tru-Cost is terrible, Tru-Cast dies in hot cars, TruCa$t warps in warm water, never buying from them again blah blah blah...

I was wanting to see HQ, and TrueCast is the stuff you used to illegaly make blasters, Right? Irn Bru, Hmmmm Maybe the equivalent of Orange fanta? Maybe Orange fanta and Beer, Maybe Fanta and something else(Whiskey, Scotch, etc etc)

So today I got a bunch of painting done.

My Haemonculus is turning out good, maybe not a perfect match for the army but it should be pretty obvious that she's not a succubus.

Then I got distracted with Scourges, they use a mix of hellion wych and warrior chick torsos.


I set up a trade with GoreChild and his bits came in the post today. thanx dude.
But looking at all the batwings, two versions of wing didin't seem like it would be good enough. I hate repetition...
So I bought some tyranid gargoyles for their wings! I'm turning into a true Haemonculus now!
...I will have lots of spare DE batwings and feathered wings now... PM me with a trade offer If you need them?

They are pretty close. So I don't think too much work will be needed to de 'nid them.
some greenstuff here and there and with a bit of a trim these should be good to go.

So the Scourges raised a few questions..
1) since the rest of the army is on clear bases, Do I remove the rocks and trim to the feet? or paint the rock and stick those onto the clear bases?
2) so far everyone has no helmets on... not wearing helmets was kinda part of making it obvious the hellions and trueborn are chicks.. but the scourge helmets are cool?

3)Should I make holes in the DE wing membranes so they match the Tyranids ones?

yeah,
Trades for female parts isn't so difficult to encourage, I just offer generous trades.
But no one is trading blasters.

Also making resin copies of the torsos is a bit too far into scumbag casting for my tastes, I only cast up when there is no other viable option.
I probably don't have the skill to get it right either!

Are you trading the feathered wings ? I like the more than the bat ones so when I get my scourges if you want to trade some feather wings for bat wings I am allways here...

The trades will most likely be Wings for any type of female bodies and/or heads and/or Blasters.
(if your trading a female body for a pair of wings I'll also throw in a male body each time so your not short a torso.)

Yeah, i would say keep the rocks and stick them on the clear bases.

A bit of variation (ie holes in wings) is fine imo.

Perhaps just have the squad leaders in scourge helms?

1, Keep the rocks on the base - they add to the poses nicely.

2, Keep the helmets - the torsos seem pretty blatantly female, and it'll help the Scorges stand out

3, Definitely add holes to the wings, particularly if you intend to mix DE wings and gargoyle wings on the same model.

I honestly wouldnt bother "de niding" them I would keep the wings as they are.

1) What about flying stands into their feet? That way they still have some aerial-ness and no rocks to screw your clear bases theme
2)Helmets, for sure! Torsos will be enough to determine the gender, it think...
3) I vote patch the nid wings with gs. The scourges are supposed to be the best of the best, right? (I dont play DE, but that's what I recall) I think any wing damage would be mended by the haemonculous who created them.
